Can some one help me with a course based MSc. program related to fishery, marine or geosciences?

Good day to every one. I appreciate the efforts of the gurus in the house to couch others to achieve success. i also have a concern i will like everyone to comment on or advice me on. My Visa was denied last two months and reasons where economic ties and study/career progression. AkA; purpose, ties.
I want to re-apply and i want to change my course of study, my bsc is in technical education, and i have 2yrs experience in project management. But now i want to go for pgd in education so that there will be a study progression is this ok or i should stick to the projects management i used to apply initially?

Please I got admission at Conestoga college Waterloo campus to study global hospitality management at post graduate level, I studied mass communications as first degree over here in Nigeria.....
But my visa was refused because of two reasons

1)am not satisfied you will leave Canada after study based on your family ties in Canada and in your country of residence

2)am not satisfied you will leave Canada based on your purpose of visit

My father is my sponsor and it stated clearly every financial document and capacity well gathered and submitted too

Please I wanna re apply what should I get right?

For purpose of visit.. Mass comm isn't related to global hospitality management unless you have experience running an hospitality establishment

If I decide to use my mother as a sponsor and possibly ask her to deposit like 5 million to my account then should I submit her bank statement, her employment details and reference letter from the bank or just reference letter and employment details ?.

How do I explain the source of this fund ?

Stay safe and remain blessed.

Pls how much is in your account at the moment.. I will advice against that deposit cos its too sudden and the visa officer will wonder why was the lump sum deposited at a go.. If you have a good amount in your account, u can use your mum as a co-sponsor. The only way to dump the lump sum is to do it over time(few months) before printing the bank statement.

You won't need mums bank statement and other bank docs if you move the money to your account

Sorry for your denial. In the last app, what program did you gain admission for. Is it project management? If yes, you should stick to it cos changing to education when you have no experience in it isnt cool

I already have around 7 million before I submitted my application in June 2020 and my application was refused due to finance and weak home ties. I vexed and invested 2m in business. So the fund in the account is 5m since July. I want to reapply but need to top up the funds to 10m. Looking for a possible way to do it professionally without another refusal. I have a wife and a 5 month baby. Wife is working, Mum is working.

What was the denial reason?

You cant just drop 5m into your account at a go..
Thats why I suggested using your mum as your co-sponsor while you maintain the main sponsor status

Hello Waliyusuff

It would be helpful to share the visa officers final comment from the GCMS notes. On the last page, in bold letters.

3.6 gpa is a 2.1 if I’m right. Then you should be aiming for a master’s or give a convincing reason why you’re going for a PGC

The SOP was really weak. I can’t help with it unfortunately, as I’m not knowledgeable enough.

Also 9m is 30k cad. If your tuition is 18, plus 10k for living expense, that brings it to 28, that’s a bit close. How about your wife and kid, how would they be taken care of? This is something you must show. Also, was there any lump/huge sum deposit in the account? That could be another ground for rejection despite adequate funds. If you input any lump or huge sum, you must explain the source with a proof.

Best wishes

Waliyusuff:
Thank you so much for your quick response. I have ordered for my gcms note, the reasons directly point at those four points. The SOP I posted was the one submitted and I have taken it down. I have bnsc in Nursing 3.6 gp, I’m going for a PGC in nursing. My tuition is 18,000 CAD and submitted statement of account with about 37,000Cad.
Pls can I mail the new SOP I used to answer refusal grounds to you, to help me vet it? I will be glad to if you can review it with me.
Thanks once again.

Hello @babybenbaby

Sorry to hear about your refusal. Wait and see what your gcms notes would say.

If you graduated with a 2:1, you can try going for a master’s instead.

I can’t help with SOPs as I’m not knowledgeable enough. Hoped someone in the house can help.

Best wishes

Hi, I followed these guidelines back to back and still got denied. .I think these guys aren't interested in PGD people anymore cos the few people I have noticed that got approved are Masters with funding. I uploaded a copy of my denial reasons. The third reason, I don't even understand because I related courses I had done in the university, I uploaded my transcripts too, I even work in the same field. I have applied for my GCMS notes too. Please can I send you a mail to review my SOP

I think you can use gift deed with giftdeed letter gift deed affidavit and bank reference showing the transaction. Maybe that can help. Not so sure though.

The purpose of visit came from your sop

Finance: how much was in your account
Who was your sponsor

Go through your transcript, are there errors in or was it poorly printed out or scanned.

Good afternoon, everyone.

Please i need clarification on document upload. I have 3 documents to upload with respect to admission. An unconditional letter of admission, a tuition fee schedule for the 2 years of study and evidence of payment of admission deposit.

1. Should I merge and upload all 3 documents under "Letter of Acceptance"?

OR

2. Should I upload only my admission letter in the "Letter of Acceptance" section and the other 2 documents in the "Client Information" section?

I'll appreciate your kind response.

Hi Rose,

Your Admission Letter is the only document to be uploaded in the Letter of Acceptance (LOA) Upload Column except if the Tuition Fee Schedule comes together with the LOA (unmerged), then it can go together.

Evidence of Admission Deposit (Tuition Deposit Receipt), Tuition Fee Schedule (if not together with ur LOA) is to be Merged with other finance related Documents and uploaded in the Proof Of Means Financial Support Upload Section

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by MyRace: 8:07pm On Oct 10, 2020
Good evening all,

My GCMS notes finally came out (unfortunately I can't post here because of personal details intertwined in the final paragraph). I was refused for:

Purpose of visit

Family ties (I applied with family, but hubby won't be staying with us)

However, from the notes, I noticed that an error was made regarding my previous studies, which now made my proposed study not to make sense. I indicated that I have an MBA from school A, the VO noted that I had an MSc Finance from school B, whereas my proposed study was MSc Finance, therefore it wouldn't make sense to be pursuing the same course again.

Also, following from above, they felt the amount of money I plan to spend on my family (again using the erroneous previous study) was too much investment to add value to me and may not yield enough to offset the costs in the future.

Please, dear experts, how do I address this?

Thank you for your anticipated responses

Hellooo @fathermathy, @vibrant 99 @chocs, @ naija foreigner and other gurus please respond. i was denied initially andi posted here but i was advised accordingly. Going for a phd without funding and still looking for another but in the main time my winter admission for Jan 2021 is almost here. I already raised my SOA from 4m to 9m (32k cad) curtesy of gift deed of 5m from parents added their pay slips and last promotion letter with int passport. Also my sponsor who was termed 3rd party in my GCMS note becos he is a distant uncle from mother side has paid my first year tuition of 10k cads upfront against winter 2021 with promise in sponsorship letter of paying for the remaining 3years (my tuition plus living expenses per year is 20k cads) he has a company and a closing balance of 65k cad. Phd Mcgill university. I am thinking of reapplying next week. Already tackled home ties by living my family behind and tackled travel history by talking about the need to travel now. Can i reapply like this or i shud add other things again?

Only issue I sense here is that, won’t the VO raise eye brows on why your uncle is going to use almost all his funds on you, plus you guys don’t bare same surname. Why would your uncle having 65k spend about 50-60k on you? He would be left with 5k after sponsoring you. Those he not have dependents of his own? This is a question begging for an answer bro.. this is RED bro

Family ties has to do more with properties than finance, properties what a good value that may cpell you to come back, likewise if you married your wife and kids are the strongest family ties... so did you submit properties form dad or you?

Good evening everyone,
My name is Ife and I am very very new here, how’s everyone doing? Please I’d need your help with my case thanks in advance.
I have been offered an admission into a DLI and program starts Dec 1. I am 24, married. My husband is my sponsor as we run an automobile business together and we are both signatories to the account. I paid 5000 CAD for tuition deposit and as at now we have 7m in the account but will hopefully raise 20m before I apply for my visa. I intend to apply alone even though I have a daughter.
Now my fear is, since my program is close do I still go ahead to and apply? And also the refusal rates nowadays is alarming and is making me skeptical should I go ahead and apply regardless or wait till the world is a bit normal. I was able to gather few information that the rate of denial is high but their desk is full or so so they trying to clear and let new applications come in. Has anyone been approved recently? Please I’d like for all the guru to come to my aid in this, I want to make my mi d to either go ahead with the application or defer to April next year. I’d be glad if you look into this, thanks and God bless

Ma’am the rate of refusal would always be high, so just play your part, package well, get every thing necessary. Then apply.. after that pray to whatever you believe in for mercies and Favour cos at that point it’s no longer in your hands. Wishing you the very best. Godspeed

Hello Efair12

My advice for you would be to defer. This would give you enough time to build your account and prepare your application documents. December is close. Going from 7m to 20m in such a short time, how would you explain that? What’s the source of the money? This is something the visa officer would check. Having the money alone is not enough, the source must be clear with proof.

Some people have been approved recently. It’s good you found the thread before you applied. Kindly read from page one of the thread (you can see the page numbers at the bottom of the page) to the end and build your knowledge, so you can put in a very strong application.

For funds, you need to show proof of tuition for 1 year + at least 10,000 cad for living expenses. As someone with a husband and kid, there must be enough money left for them to live well while you are studying, all the money belonging to the family cannot be used for your study. So 7m is definitely too small.

What course did you study previously and what level? (e.g bsc, HND e.t.c.)
What Course are you going for in Canada and level (bsc, msc, PGD)
If you’re employed, what field is the employment in? (eg admin assistant, lawyer etc)

These are things that can affect your application. The course you’re going for should align with your previous academic and employment line. If it doesn’t, you must give convincing reasons to the visa officer why you’re going for that course to avoid a refusal.

Do you own any landed property? Please include proof of it in your application if you have any.
Also your business registration documents

You should start writing your SOP (statement of purpose) now. It’s a very important part of your application.

You can check out the following links to help you prepare a solid application. It has info on documents needed, how to upload them, common reasons for refusal and how to tackle it.

Thank you for your reply,
Firstly we have been running the account for over 6 months and it has a turnover of over 100m. For the kind of business we do and based on the history of the account, having 20m in a short period shouldn’t be a problem since money comes in from time to time. My first year fees and living expenses of 10000 dollars is 13m
Secondly, I had my b.sc in Tourism and events management and want to pursue my masters in Tourism management
Thirdly, I have a land property and I also have a reference letter from the commissioner of tourism in my state.
Lastly, I just want to be sure if I should go ahead with the application giving the time frame or still defer since my program starts 1st of December. Please let me know if there’s any other advice you have, thank you and God bless
