thesicilian:hoodlums are in the north rampaging they are called bandits, Boko Haram and herdsmen and not the peaceful protesters asking for better living. Tell your army to do what they know how to do best and see if they are immortals. |
The press release is simply warning those using the protest to cause trouble to desist from such act. While those on peaceful protest can go ahead. Look at how some illitrates are seeing this press release as a threat. Trully Nigerians are there own problem. It seems you do not understand the intent of the press release. When Army enter the street, they do not know who is protesting peacefully and they don't care to know. Their motive will be to stop all protest. Nigeria Army do not care about anybody ooo!! |

omenka:PDP? Army used to quell protests in the USA? You are ignorant. I have never been a supporter of the PDP, does that mean I should encourage the army to shoot at Nigerians because of party politics? You cannot mean well for Nigeria if you encourage the army to start killing protesters. |

Dimmatic:When ever you have nothing to say you always bring up the issue of bako Haram, the mockery that you are making of the north east will surely come to past one day, you went to the street demanding for the scrapping of SARS, this has been done, for God's sake what else do you want, other than anarchy and subvertsion, that is the essence of that press release |

sarrki:This is how the show starts. It always starts with this types of little press releases. You have a Commander in Chief who is not incapacitated. You have an Inspector General of Police who is there to deal with civil unrests. Hmmm. Na so e dey take start oooo. |

omenka:What then is the army supposed to do when you unleash them on protesters? Share tea and biscuits with them? I have no time for dumb arguments. And you think it is the standard practice in the US to deploy soldiers to stop protesters? |

And when the dividends of what they are fighting for comes through, you become a beneficiary, right? In other words, you are okay with the way Nigeria is. When you were locked up at home for months in the name of a COVID-19 pandemic that people were clearly sabotaging and making money from, you didn't scream foul. I think the least you can do if you can't join the protest, is congratulate those who have the courage to do what you couldn't do. These guys are inconveniencing themselves to send a message across. They are fighting not just for themselves, but for generations unborn. So, stop being selfish, because whether you like it or not, with the way Nigeria is going, soon, no one would have a means of livelihood due to the looming insecurity and poverty in the land. Never forget: That you have a job today, doesn't mean those without one aren't hardworking enough. Some people lost their jobs from the pandemic, and businesses were shut. Yet our government never gave palliatives to people who felt the heat most. If you think you are safe because you haven't been hit by police brutality today, don't cry when it becomes your story tomorrow. quote author=wonder233 post=94950700]My thoughts exactly. I've been denied access to my means of livelihood for about a week now by the road blockades. It is their rights to protest. It is also my right to have access to a public road. It is an infringement on my rights to be denied road access. Protesters should converge on one side, while others who wish to go about their lawful duties can go about their activities.
|

Maybe you don't know that the army has no business in matters involving policing except drafted by the commander in chief which has not happened, so until then he is supposed to shut up and air for orders. Their work is to act and not to issue press statements. Our army has so entangled itself in civilian affairs that's why they don't know when to talk and when to shut up. thesicilian: |

Oga, I don't have any job. I'm a cab driver. I vigorously clamoured for an end to the covid lockdown. I invite you to check my previous posts. You guys don't just get it: nobody is saying you can't protest, protest, but don't block the roads. you can't be infringing on my rights, to protest the infringement of yours. And why aren't you guys tolerant of divergent views? Always quick to insult and bully anyone not in your bandwagon with the whole "we are doing what you don't have courage to do shii"? I have a right to disagree. You guys should stop acting like the monsters you're protesting against
And when the dividends of what they are fighting for comes through, you become a beneficiary, right? Guestlander:When you make a statement in error admit it, that is what responsible people do. You didnt say it wasnt a standard practice in the US, you doubted it has ever happened. I showed you evidence it has. You can take the rest of what you typed to anyone else with the time for rubbish. |

Mr Buratai, you should be ashamed of yourself to claim that your loyalty is to Buhari .Because of your naivety, you don’t know that your loyalty should be to the constitution of Nigeria and the people. I am not surprised because you know you have over-stayed your office because the Bokos you claimed to have defeated is still killing people in Borno and you are here talking nonsense to peaceful protesters. I will advise you to channel your energy to Boko Haram . |

#EndSars and henceforth no police officer, SARS, DSS, sac, rrs, what ever their names maybe should be allowed to legally kill any citizen without a trial in the court of law. Be it an armed robber, kidnapper...you need to prove people guilty before condemning them. This is just too much to bare, is everyone going bananas in this country. WTF did I just read? I feel like pushing a digger through anus of this Officer James till it comes out through his mouth. His evils will not be forgiven, No way! i spit on his grave in advance #EndPoliceBrutality https://www.nairaland.com/6182404/armageddon-called-awkuzu-sars-under https://humangle.ng/once-arrested-just-forget-it-anambra-residents-recount-bitter-experiences-of-sars-brutality/ |
