"Much of Nigeria's generated electricity remain unused because the country is not able to distribute it as a result of poor transmission and distribution network, which has prompted it to sell to neighbouring countries"...this statement irritates me badly
So how do they manage to transmit and distribute to the neighboring countries. Are they wirelessly transmitting the power to the other countries, cause this excuse for epileptic power supply in Nigeria is not adding up.

How u mean?

Nigeria is just securing those deals, Nigeria has high energy potentials Nigeria can always generate more energy.

We have dammed the Niger which generates thousands of kV worth of power who knows if the next government might dam the Benue and generate another thousand's worth.

When it comes to energy Nigeria never even start

Instead of improving our transmission and distribution network to enhance electricity supply to the citizens they chose to bring in another country to tap the grossly inadequate power we get.
Until we start to make these people accountable for their deeds, they won't stop to mess with us.

I think the next campaign should be tagged #ENDDARKNESS....

Sure, but even though they will pay the bill I think the citizens need to be satisfied before the outsiders

For Nigeria to transform its distribution sector, it will cost billions of dollars.

Selling excess power to countries that need it is actually a great way to raise the funds to pay for the building of our distribution infrastructure.

Tone down the condescension... It's unnecessary and unbecoming!!!

Citizens would be more trusting and knowledgeable about these things if transparency existed in government!!!

Remember how your current crop of leaders spearheaded the protest against Jonathan's move to deregulate the downstream sector??!... So, can I say you have dimwits leading you now??!

This is sheer madness, you cannot distribute in your own country, but others could distribute in their countries. Just tell us that this country is too big to manage, there is enough food to feed your people, but you complain of lack of plates for even share, this is a mental case. This is one of the things they should have protested about.

My tension calmed when I read to:

"Much of Nigeria's generated electricity remain unused because the country is not able to distribute it as a result of poor transmission and distribution network, which has prompted it to sell to neighbouring countries."

But FG ought to have channel their strength on the distribution, we need electricity to woo industrialist in Nigeria.

Don’t be deceived by these politicians sir, they know exactly what to do so there could be 24 hours light, they chose not to do it for selfish and wicked reasons.

Nigeria can be good if these men decide it would be good

So, Fulani would like to serve their brothers in the in the Sahel before us.

This is what you will be getting from the Fulani led positions whether Nigeria is restructured or not.

These has been the norm for decades now, sell electricity to other countries and pocket the money, It can never be accounted for. That some countries are not able to pay up are all cooked up stories to decieve Nigeria, may God help us in this country. These cabals gat no human sympathy.
Re: Govt To Connect Chad To National Power Grid by Getsaved(m): 7:22am On Oct 29, 2020
The protest that would break the camel's (Nigeria) back, the mother of all protest is loading and it is little things like this that would spark it. And it demands would be endless. But top of it's demands would be #endbadgovernment, #endbogoussalaryofpoliticians, #endinadequatepowersupply, #endmedicalforiegntrip e..t.c they will not be willing and able to effect those demands immediately because it will affect them "badly". They will craftly ask the masses for time to fix the country. howbeit, it would be another lie to keep the masses quiet and impoverish them. And as a result, the hidden secret in Aso rock would be made open thereby triggering the canister for total break up or refradum.
I am not prophesying. It is just an observation which we all know is written already on the wall. We are just waiting for what will trigger it.
Such actions like the one OP posted w could suffice.

Apart from it being a useful investment, the major source of Nigeria's energy is the Kanji Dam which relies on the River Niger to generate electricity . If all the Countries that have River Niger pass through it were not supplied electricity by Nigeria, they'll be left with no option than to all create their artificial dams like kanji Dam which would stress River Niger from different ends and this would in turn affect our own electricity generation. It is another reason Nigeria generates electricity to Countries like Niger, Mali , Benin etc

modsfucker , the most likely reason above.
