I think you need to set up at least a ten-man committee to investigate this matter.

Hunger and starvation from our food blockade is what really ended the Biafra war. They were starving not laughing.

Don't fool yourself.

u don't get the point. Cassava and yam and plantains are our staple foods. We have those in abundance. Onions and tomatoes are for spicing. we can definitely do without them. I don't understand the creating of threads to complain about circumstances beyond them. So if the northern farmers decided not to bring produce to Rivers again, they won't eat anymore?

Anyone can do it. Especially the south parts of Nigeria have good land and water channels.

Is that not why thousands of Eastern children died from kwashiokor during the food blockade?

That question should be for the complainers not producers, and also for those who died of hunger in the civil war despite having all the land to grow their "staple foods" .

No man is an island.

My people the prices of food stuffs is on the rise in Rivers State. I don't know about other cities.

Look at the Onions my wife bought at Oil Mill Market In Portharcourt for 500 naira today.

On a normal day these onions should cost 50 naira or less.

How is it in your area

This country is doomed, we need help before things goes out of hand

Are igbos not in the south?

I'm using that to underline the fact that no man is an island and you cannot depend solely on what you produce to survive.

It has absolutely nothing to do with that. We are not in onion season. During this time of the year onions are usually expensive. Even overseas, onions are more expensive this time of the year so stop looking for who or what to blame.
It is a combination of different things! You can go back and read the last sentence of my submission. Peace!

You supported the unprofessional protest so you all should bear the brunt. Also go and farm, God will not come and put food on your table.

Seriously I weep for the common man, if prices of food items keep going up, these common men will soon start robbing the middle class and the wealthy.

Who said so?

Onions can be farmed by anybody. We have the perfect weather for it more than the north yet we see it as northern thing. If cold regions like Europe can farm onions, tell me the reason why south shouldn't.

Hunger have not yet started. Everybody want to be a trader or white collar guy.
You've nailed it

That is the consequences of our actions. God has not United us (North and South) for nothing. But for us to learn how to live together in harmony, in order to benefit from what he has endowed in each of the region's.

Was it not Lord Luggard that joined Northern and Southern Nigeria?

Cutehector:
thank you
see those onions when you chop off the top, leave it in water for a few hours and then transfer to a moist damp space away from sunlight for a few days till you see shoots forming.
Plant it in soil afterwards, you should get a cluster of onions in 3 -5 months

Yes poo, I live at Owerri too.
I was shocked today when I went to buy beans and palm oil.
beans half paint #800, palm oil ₦600 per one small bottle.
can you just imagine the level of hardship people would pass through in this period
The self inflicted hardship! Let the benefits of the useless protest continue to unfold. Soon those preparing for burial ceremony will have to postpone till further notice because a cow will soon cost 1million down there.
