Enugu is by far dirtier than PORT HARCOURT. This is TRANS AMADI road, is it this place dirty?

Old pics, tell me the name of this place and by Wednesday I will travel back there and get you current pics.
Everywhere seemed neat when Wike commissioned these roads, now they are dirty.

Enugu was already a provincial centre for eastern region, even PORT HARCOURT was under that province, but you dare not compare PH with Enugu today, that's how to measure development. This road(IWOFE ROAD) is not even the city centre of PORT HARCOURT but a suburb low class area of the city. And someone would be proud to post nonsense for a town like Enugu that has existed for over 100yrs.

Leave that guy wey sey nothing dey PH outside government house...na "greenry" dey develop city?
make dem chop dia tree and grasses na.

Person come Government house for PH comot again,he say e come PH...no doubt PH suppose better pass like this but comparing Enugu to PH na crime abeg.

Anytime I'm in PH I pity Rivers state as a whole, to think that she is the only livable place in the entire state.
I think the main problem with Rivers state is their over ethnic consciousness. For example, an average ikwerre man cares less even if other parts of Ikwerre land is not developed so far a fellow ikwerre man is in power. Oyigbo man doesn't just give a Bleep as an Ogoni and okirika doesn't smell the government seat even if it means no attention in their land with the ikwerre led government.
The easiest way to know that you are in Rivers state or portharcourt is the constant affirmation of your ethnicity by locals.
You speak, they will affirm your tribe. You sit, same. You eat, same.
They are too ethnic conscious

No disrespect but with all these you said, you don't know much about Rivers state....baba say it's only PH that's livable place

I wonder why a grown up man will come to Internet and spilling trash. this area is just 1% of the entire city. mostly around govt house and few area of gra. Every state in Nigeria have it.

Did you just say every state has this? You must be joking! Please travel around and don't make conclusions off the cuff.

The greenery and well designed gutters and pedestrian walkways in Enugu are among the best in Nigeria. I stayed a few years in Enugu (I grew up in the North and have worked in the West), and I can tell you that few states have the serenity and neatness that they have.

Travel to some more state capitals and your opinion will change. I don't want to call names, as I respect the effort every state is making, but please Enugu is far better than my own state capital.

Its streets are unswept, unkempt and ridden with potholes! They don’t pay attention to detail!

Enugu is lacking in imposing highrise corporate/gov’t buildings! This is largely due to the realities of the present Nigerian political-economy in place! Was watching a recent YouTube clip of Kaduna, and noticed the city has way more!

Enugu and Owerri used to be in this level in terms of beauty and aesthetics but Enugu was lucky to have Sullivan Chime as governor for 8 years unlike the mad man called Rochas who ruled Imo State for 8 years, and as if that wasn't bad enough, the Supreme Court removed Emeka Ihedioha we voted for to correct Rochas's maladministration only to replace him with his worst version.

Only God can help us in Imo State now because asking us to wait until 2023/24 to vote him out is not good enough. This impostor remaining in Douglas House for another 3 years will do irreparable damage on Imo State.

It's so wrong to bring Okorocha into this while trying to paint Enugu in good light. Okorocha really moved Owerri beyond this Enugu level but he had a lot of forces including Tinubu and his fellow Igbos bent on destroying his legacy. Till date his legacies have not been completely erased and it's easy to see the true state of things through endsars street video than selective hype of few good areas.

Men your are just bitter for nothing. I don't even understand your point at all. Has any of those cuties witnessed civil war. Moreover Enugu is housing the biggest brewery in West Africa NBL and many more at 9th miles.

Enugu was built again after the war by the people not the government.
Enugu is the best green city in Nigeria.

oneeast:

PORT HARCOURT, kano, kaduna, Calabar and Enugu started out almost the same time as either provincial centres or regional centres, but today you dare not put Enugu on the same list of development with those cities. Those cities have gone from being just civil servants cities to economic power houses that parades massive infrastructural developments, FLYOVERS, bridges, multnational companies, boisterous thriving commercial and industrial centres etc.

While Enugu is still stuck in the colonial era, celebrating nonsense as achievement.

Owerri had the potential not now again. Since Ihedioha sacked the street sweepers on grounds that they supported Okorocha, Uzodinma has refused to bring them back leaving the streets now dusty like other Nigerian towns. Port-Harcourt is highly improved now and is probably the cleanest city in the East presently. Calabar is also no longer swept like before. The fight against Okorocha has set Imo backwards and wasted close to 2 years with no single improvement. When Uzodinma came on board and opened the High Court built by Okorocha I thought he would continue in that direction but he started fighting Okorocha and is even planning to bring back the rightly demolished Ekeukwu market and close down the new markets built outside the city by Okorocha.

PORT HARCOURT has developed beyond being a civil servants city to industrial and commercial giant.

Port-Harcourt has never been a civil service town. It was the 2nd most important city in Nigeria after Lagos and one of the most beautiful cities in Africa before the Biafran war. It was so well planned and lined with well mawed lawns and trees that it was nicknamed the Garden City. The fall of Port-Harcourt came with continued high influx of people after the Civil war till the infrastructure was overstretched. Enugu is yet to experience such high influx of people. Owerri experienced it recently which led to rapid expansion but it has not been overstretched like Port-Harcourt.
