For example, if you someone loves you for your emotional support and then you suddenly become distant. You don't provide that support and friendship, then of course it's a valid reason for things to go south.
If in the case a woman is solely loved for her beauty then the said beauty vanishes or fades, she would also be abandoned.
There's always a reason why you have a relationship with someone.
I have a particular friend whose friendship is cherished because of our intellectual discourse. It's what sustains our relationship.
