StephenC300: Apologies but can you provide your timeline? When you applied When you submitted docs When you did BioMet? From my research and other forums - it should take 30-40 working days from BioMet. |

Hello, I submitted my documents and application online on the 20th of July 2020. I did my biometrics on the 18th of August 2020 and I've been waiting ever since. Today is the 59th working day without any feedback. Moradeyo20: |

StephenC300: Oh dear - I’m so sorry. You should go ahead and chase via email - I’m confident before end of November you’ll get your response. |
Re: UK Spouse Visa/Appeal Process-part2 by Kinpelz(f): 3:19pm On Nov 10, 2020 |
You should send them a mail. https://www.gov.uk/contact-ukvi-inside-outside-uk The paid email works better as there is a TAT to access the performance of the HO. With the email if there are no concern with your application you should get your visa before the end of November. StephenC300: |

Good day All Thanks for the great job you're doing on this platform I just need a clearance cuz I'm a little bit confused right now I and my husband got married in Lagos last month, his from EU but based in London UK. we have a marriage certificate ready so he has gone back to the UK to process my spouse visa but he is doing that with the help of an immigration lawyer. The lawyer didn't ask me for much he only asked me to send.. our marriage certificate Details about my parents, my daughter's birth certificate, my passport data page my statement of account and my daughter passport data page too that's all. So I don't know if all this will do. Note.. my daughter is not for my husband, I already had her before we meet. Please I need your kind clearance on this just to know we're on the right path cos I can't wait to be with my hubby. Thanks. |
Re: UK Spouse Visa/Appeal Process-part2 by mimilyrics: 6:58pm On Nov 22, 2020 |
You will need a divorce certificate (if you were married before) or death certificate (in case of the father's death), a legal document granting you custody of your child or the consent of the child's father for you to take him/her to the UK) and any documents (letter from the child's school, doctor etc.) showing that you've been solely responsible for the child or that the child has been living with you ever since.... mimilyrics: Thanks for the response I was never married to my baby dad and my daughter has been with me ever since. The dad knows about this and has given is consent. The immigration lawyer working with my hubby asked me to get my daughter a Nigerian passport asap. Does that mean she's going with me to the UK or her passport I just needed for documentation? Cos I and hubby talked about coming to pick her later. And the last time I spoke with the lawyer he said I shouldn't worry that he will let me know when my visa is ready. I just want to be sure if this is truly the right process. Sorry for the too many questions Thanks All |

good evening gurus in the house, fiance British, we plan on getting married next month, do I or fiance need to give notice of marriage, if yes where and how do we go about it? Thank you |
Re: UK Spouse Visa/Appeal Process-part2 by Luvdmx(m): 6:05am On Nov 23, 2020 |
Herbeolah1: If everything goes well, she's definitely going with you. How long have you knew your husband for is another factor. Was it the first time he came to Nigeria you guys got married? I always believe he has to submit proof of communication. It's quite complicated process. All the best 1 Like |
Re: UK Spouse Visa/Appeal Process-part2 by mimilyrics: 8:33am On Nov 23, 2020 |
Since you've got the consent letter from the father, you just need to add her birth certificate (showing both of you as the parents), passport, proof of funds in your account and a letter from the school to show that she's lived with you all through. If you feel that there's anything the ECO might not understand on your application, use a cover letter to explain. Herbeolah1: 1 Like |
Re: UK Spouse Visa/Appeal Process-part2 by mimilyrics: 8:41am On Nov 23, 2020 |
If you're in Nigeria, you give notice at the registry in Nigeria. If you're in the UK, you need to give notice at your local register office at least 29 days before your wedding provided that you've lived there for at least 7 days. You can make an appointment online/phone. The register offices might be currently closed due to the Covid-19 lockdown though. It costs £35 for each person (£47 for each person since either of you are from outside the EU, EEA or Switzerland. You'll need to have an interview with the registrar and you will only be allowed with your chosen date if Home Office doesn't investigate (you'll get a letter to this effect). If Home Office decides to investigate, you might have an additional 70 days or thereabouts before you can get married. pamfad101: |

Luvdmx: I appreciate your interest in helping me in this confused state. To be honest I and my hubby just meet not too long ago. And yes we got married the first time he came to Nigeria. We have proof of communication to submit. I'm just about the english test exams, TBT, biometrics submission of passport e.t.c to be done. Like when exactly will I have to do all that cos the immigration lawyer is not saying much.. he just said he will let me know when my visa is out. I hope it can just happen like that and I get my visa.. lol It's really confusing for real. |

mimilyrics: I have submitted all other documents and my statement of account but the lawyer hasn't asked for a letter from her school yet. Sure I will do that Thanks your response was really helpful. |
Re: UK Spouse Visa/Appeal Process-part2 by mimilyrics: 9:33am On Nov 23, 2020 |
You should do your English and TB tests before you submit online. Your husband must show evidence that he meets the financial requirement of £18,600 plus an extra £3,400 for your child. He'll have to submit his 6-month payslips, employment contract and bank statement to this effect. Herbeolah1: 1 Like |

You can get that too as it helps back up your claim that the child has been living with you without the father. Herbeolah1: 1 Like |

mimilyrics: Oh okay thanks will get that from her school. |
Re: UK Spouse Visa/Appeal Process-part2 by Luvdmx(m): 9:53am On Nov 23, 2020 |
Herbeolah1: I can imagine the stress of using immigration lawyer plus cost. I guess your husband mostly busy, if not you guys doing together without immigration lawyer would have been your best option. The spouse visa requirements are very clear for each applicant's situation. I assumed he had already submitted your application right? Once your hubby meet the financial requirements for both of you, because you guys got married on his first visit, you really need concrete evidence to demonstrate that the relationship is genuine. I hope your immigration lawyer submitted all the communication and enough photos of you two at different places and time. You've the right to ask him questions to ease your mind and he should respond in time. All the best of luck 1 Like |
