I learnt that procatination is man's worst enemy and truely a thief of time.
I lost my mum after a brief illness and she was to tell me something important but I thought we would talk when we meet next week....next week came and she was late.
O have never felt pain and regret in my life like that day.
I have learnt not to delay anything in my life but I learnt at a high cost.
May Allah Grant you Jannah mum...ameen

Learnt my greatest lesson this year...
Had 4 million naira in a fixed deposit account. I put that money in there sometimes last year. In case anything happens to my work. Didn't even see the corona coming!
Then that same last year, a new man was brought in as my HOD in the office. We became kind of close. He's old enough to be my father. He mentioned a business to me of supplying feldspar stone to one Chinese company. He told me how lucrative the business is. How he has a partner he's running it with. That he needs more fund. Like a million naira. He's gona be paying so so interest.
On my own, I calculated the interests he was willing to pay, it far outweighs what the bank was given me as interest for the fixed deposit.
Guess what?? Ur guess is right!!!
Had to liquidate a million naira from the fixed deposit. & so on & so forth. He was demanding for more funds from me. I was busy liquidating each time he demands. Trusted him. Held him in high esteem as my boss in the office. I ve put in around 3M plus. & interest I was supposed to get was around 400k plus.
Corona came. We stopped work cos of the lock down. My people, na so I see my self.. His partner he was running the business with, to get hold of him now is problem. This whole thing became a problem to me. I became depressed. Anytime I remember the money, still weighs me down. Swear!
In September, I needed 1.5M. Was a matter of life or death. Had to Mount him pressure he Neva expected. He had to borrow money to give me 1.5M. Now the rest money, I don't know the fate.
See me that was a millionaire as of last year,
Its well!! Life goes on though. I ve moved on. It was a risk I took. Cos we were planning in partnering together to expand the business. But then when the whole pandemic started, Chinese company closed. According to him. Saying they ve not paid till date.
That's what happens in life most times, you let people in, they destroy you..
I just felt he ruined my plans. Should I even say I regret meeting someone like him in my life. "Well pained" Life!!!!
Lol. I laf because exactly same thing happened to me. N I made same statement. " I ever regretted meeting u Emma". Dat was my comment wen he lost all my money in forex trading

Never depend on people but God and yourself.

Never trust anyone, most especially your friends.

i never have any iota of trust issues, i trust people alot, even after many betrayals and disappointment, i still cant help but trust beacuse i believe that if i cant have such heart to hurt or harm why will people do that to me...

untill i got married, all my trust was swept to mud, even i realised dt my spouse go no iota of trust for me , no matter how i try..this hurts me so much , a lot of betrayals , denials , direct black and white lies...

recently just recently i made up my mind never to trust, BUT HONESTLY IDONT KNOW HOW TO AVOID TRUSTING, it will result to living in fear....................

Bro neither am I. It is very hard f finding that what you were indoctrinated from childhood to hope on fails. It is very hard because our system has been programmed that way to put hope in a deity so once you break or try to break it will be hard.

One of my pt in his 80’s had slow onset dementia. One day he seemed more clear, was sitting outside on a sunny morning and I started asking him about his past. He looked at me and smiled, said he thoroughly enjoyed his life, did whatever he wanted to do but within moral grounds. He looked so happy and contented that my eyes teared up.

- Stop over restricting yourself people, the person you’re trying to model or live up to could be a sick devil. You absolutely absolutely do not know them lol
-Quick bursts of gratitude to God everyday is what actually keeps you
-You look smarter, more interesting and mysterious when you keep quiet
-If you haven’t been selfish, try being selfish today. You deserve it, you’ll love it
-Your peace of mind comes first

Finally....guess what this life is all about. YOU !! Who knows, your environment and people in it might just be simulations.
I can personally relate to this smiley fact#

Lemme park here. It's gonna be an interesting thread.

My own lesson is that, nothing is guaranteed in life.

One of my Neighbors rented a shop just attached to a police station, he sells clothes, shoes and other men's wears and the shop been attached to a police station usually give him peace of mind based on the security and of which its true. Who dem born well to near a police station shop say him wan burgle the shop.

EndSars protest came and the station was burnt down and his shop was looted too. The incident taught me a great lesson business wise.

Modified : Slow thinkers keeps mentioning me asking what lesson did I learnt. Lesson learnt is ALWAYS THINK "WHAT IF" AND PLAN A WAY OUT AHEAD.

The lesson should be, in Life nothing is guaranteed. The unexpected can happen at anytime.

Life doesn't make sense and NOTHING is worth it. The earlier you engrave this realisation into your brain, the better for you.

Sure you should hustle, make money and enjoy life with your family during the brief period you're here. But don't think much of these things because they mean nothing. Nothing. Call it vanity if you like, that's what it is.

Take a chill pill.

Lool this happens in my place of work, I have seen some colleagues complain about some Ogas saying he/ she is stingy, I try to reason what their problem is exactly- as long as he doesn't take what I am entitled to his money is his money, he doesn't owe us anything , if they decide to buy lunch or dash us something its a privilege it's not a right.
I was saying it and then they said me sef am stingy that's why I don't see anything wrong in it cheesy

Now because I am sort of senior in cadre to some of us on the team if someone asks me something and I don't have I will clearly say arhh I don't have Oo you will hear stuffs like madam you senior us now, they now try to make you feel guilty and manipulate you emotionally grin grin grin . I will start questioning my self what I did wrong .

I know their style now and those manipulations don't work on me anymore.

I should give what I can't afford to prove what?

Lol, that is just exactly what am saying

Well, right from the beginning it has not been working on me grin grin

My rule is my rule, I can't give wat I don't have, even if I have and I don't feel like giving out den that is it, am not trying to pls anybody again apart from my family and gf.

Even family wey hin own plenty sef a go yiwo mi si BRT lane.

If u don't have wat it takes to be extremely generous den too much of generosity brings poverty .
