My advice to u is, invest the money on ‘ the thing that gave you the 4m’

And if you were going to try a new business, never invest more than 30% of your capital . Incase things go south u go see something to fall back on

blackpanthar:

There is something called SWOT Analysis.... you need to do it for whatever area and business you choose.

This 2020 has been a year of reset... you need to set up a business that will thrive irrespective of lockdown or plandemic.

Let me give you a few...

1) FOOD PROCESSING or FOOD COOKING
2) Agric-tech( where you invEst in buying a farm and you get as little as 50% ROI in 5 months.
3) STOCKS or FOREX.... (well... this one is late because if you used 4M to buy dollar at the beginning of the lockdown, by now you would have more than 6M)
4) Land.. then you put it out for LEASE (this is big business if you are in an industrial area)
5) health kits too
6) tech (setting up a dating or earning or news website or app is huge business)
7) real estate
cool mobile printing press (a van that is converted to a mobile office and you can drive to campuses and print on a daily basis)... someone sold this business here on NL for 850k with gen and other stuff.
9) TRUCK business (this is a very big business because a company handles every other thing for you once you buy the truck at an installment of 1.5m)
10) YOU (why not learn skills that will make you so versatile for less than 500k and then use the 3.5 to establish yourself)

Now sit and think which one your personality can cope with. Then Launch. I wish you well bro

Can u give details on 9 & 10

From your post Op you don't have any prior business skills, no business experience also. 4 molla is not a small money at this time sir.. Business is not as easy as you may perceive it sir.
I'll give you my candid advise that may seem brutal.. Lol
1. Go for at least 12 months apprenticeship in any business you decide to venture into. It may look difficult but it's very possible.you will thank me later.
2. Beg your uncle to add 1M to that money and apply for a masters program in Germany, most of their schools are tuition free.. You only need about 10k euros in your block account which is your living expenses. To survive in business in Nigeria is not child's play. LEAVE NIGERIA SIR....
our policies are not friendly for startup.. If you have such amount please relocate, you'll still thank me later.

Hey! Some of you may come spewing what you like.. I'm only advising the young man, to avoid regret. 4 million Naira is huge from his uncle but in the real sense it's nothing in the Nigeria business space.. TO GET A SHOP AT ARENA MILITARY SHOPPING COMPLEX IS OVER 5 million Naira.. I have fact. So after getting a shop where will you get money to buy goods you're not even sure of having buyers for... Op please JAPER O... I REITERATE JAPER...

There are several businesses you can start and run profitably in Nigeria. Below are six that readily comes to mind:

1. Rice Milling: (You can start on a small scale with ~4m)

One of the best businesses one can venture into in Nigeria today is parboiled rice production (Rice Milling).

Nigerians currently consume over 5 million metric tons, which is equivalent to over 100 million 50Kg bags of rice annually. With the current population growth rate of Nigeria, the consumption of rice is estimated to reach about 35 million metric tons (700 million 50Kg bags) by the year 2050.

There is high demand for rice in Nigeria. With a population of over 180 million people and an estimated national population growth rate of 5.7% per annum ,an average economic growth rate of 3.5% per annum in the past five {5} years, Nigeria has a large and growing market for rice.

As it stands, the current producers of good quality rice in the country cannot even meet up to 50% of the current demand. This is the reason why the market is flooded with poorly produced and low quality rice.

New entrants into the rice milling industry that can produce good quality parboiled rice will have an evergreen market waiting to be sold to.

2. Drinking Water Production: ( You can start producing pure (sachet) water with ~4m)

Another good business that does very well in Nigeria is drinking water production (Bottled water and Sachet Water).

The growth of the middle class in Africa in general, and Nigeria to be specific, has led to a need for hygienically produced and well packaged food products like bottled water.

The market for packaged water is high and cut across all parts of the country. With a population of over one hundred and eighty million (180,000,000) people, and an estimated national population growth is 5.7% per annum, Nigeria has a large and sustainable market for packaged water.

3. Poultry Farming: (You can start small with ~4m)

Poultry farming is yet another business that gives good returns on investment.

Poultry farming has risen to become one of the most lucrative businesses in Nigeria today. This aspect of livestock farming, if set-up and managed properly, provides legitimate continuous income for entrepreneurs within a short period of time. There are over 160 million consumers in Nigeria and over one billion in Africa. This provides a large, growing and sustainable market for poultry farmers in Nigeria, and Africa in general.

4. Pounded Yam Flour Production: (You can start on a small scale with ~4m)
Pounded yam flour is another product that you can chose the invest in its production.

Pounded yam is a popular delicacy produced from boiled yam tubers, and is consumed by many people across Africa. However, a lot of people, especially the middle class find it difficult to prepare pounded yam the traditional way which involves boiling yam, pounding it in a mortar using a piston, until it becomes a succulent dough.

The growth of the middle class in Africa in general, and Nigeria to be specific, has led to a need for hygienically processed, easy to prepare and well packaged food products like yam flour.

5. Maize (Corn) Flour Production: (You can start on a small scale with ~4m)

This is another business that you can quickly setup and make good money with.

Maize can be processed into several products including Maize Flour, Maize Grits. Starch, etc.

With few producers focusing on the production of maize flour in Nigeria, there exists a large gap that needs to be filled by aspiring entrepreneurs in the country. This supply gap will continue to grow as the population of the country grows.

6. Cooking Oil Production: (You can start on a small scale with~4m)

The production of Cooking oil, also called Vegetable oil is yet another viable business you can quickly setup and make good money in Nigeria.

The present production level of Vegetable Oil in Nigeria is yet to meet the demand of Nigerians. There is currently a ban on the importation of vegetable oil into the country. The ban was placed in other to encourage local producers to expand their operations, and new investors to go into the production of Vegetable Oil. This has made the business to be very lucrative.

The best thing is don't venture into business you known little or nothing about.

take your time and think about what you already have knowledge..

for instance if I want to go into business, I do prefer buying and selling of phone accessories because I really know about it - earphones are sold at 100h per one and you do sell it 250 or 300....same as charger......and many more.....as you can see I have prior knowledge about it.....

Bro invest in the technology industry.

Here are 3 lucrative technology businesses you can get into

• Cryptocurrency mining: You can get your own personal cryptocurrency miners, a computer or two, a space to assemble your tools, ensure you have an AC in the room to ensure the machines are not overheated. You can mine $100+ worth of cryptocurrency daily using this method. I’m not time you will recover your initial investment and the rest of income generated will be profit.

• eCommerce: Pick up an untapped niche market, import products from abroad, brand your products, do digital marketing. www.affipedia.org can help with that.

• Dropshipping: This is similar to eCommerce but in this case, you’re not going to need to handle the goods in tangible form, just get a supplier, spike your price up, sell, advertise and get orders. Once you get an order, simply pay the supplier the original amount for the product and deduct the rest as your profit. E.g: You’re selling a touch worth $2 for $8, $2 is for the supplier and $6 is for you.

All these businesses make profit in $ and not Naira, so you understand where I’m coming from. Stand out from the crowd and you will succeed.

There are a whole lot. Send an email if you’re interested

Someone has said it all, ask your uncle first for the business idea, you can learn more from others. if your uncle can make this much to be able to lend or give you N4m, definitely he knows where the market is.
