So IRCC finally updated my medical today on GCKey (there was no email notification). A part of me already feels like I've secured my study permit & visa approval; for me, the medical was the major fear.

Applied on June 16,
Upfront medical on Sept 01,
Biometrics collection on Sept 08,
Eligibility review and background check still ongoing August,
No other update from IRCC since after biometrics was updated on Sept 8
Medical updated today — passed!

Waiting for further updates: correspondence letter and hopefully PPR!

Please, did you receive a medical request even after submitting the upfront medical slip?

50k as a monthly salary is so small as an income. The VO complained about how I accumulated over N3m, even though I earned over N200k as salary. So you see, this is a major problem.

You need to show how you accumulated funds or earnings.

na wa. what's your plan?

I was beginning to get worried
Called DHL multiple times today and they said they haven’t picked up anything from them.
StringerX:
Yes! I got the same mail yesterday and I haven't heard from DHL.

Send the airline an email with your travel route(departure country, destination country and any transit) and ask if a test is required.

Generally, Airbnb would be more expensive if used for long term accommodation. You can confirm by checking the monthly rental average in the city and comparing it to 30days fees for Airbnb.

Best wishes
Godsblessings:
ok thanks, is it advisable/cheaper to check outside the school accommodation (hostel) in Airbnb or is it good for only the isolation?

Hello,

I don’t think anyone can accurately predict your chances.

If you believe you can convince the VO why pgcert is the way to go, you can go ahead. I don’t know anything about the college.

Hopefully someone in the house can offer a more useful advice. @frankrobbn1 @justmellow @lekkiboboe and others

Best wishes

Thank you
I want to apply for a PG. cert in Exercise science for health and performance at Niagara college, which is a one year program.I have 2.1 in related discipline.

I would have opted for a Msc but it has been difficult getting a supervisor, however I am working on relevant reasons for opting for a PG. cert instead of a Masters

I want to kindly ask what you think my chances are if I write a good SOP with a good POF , I must include that

I have denied student F1 visa twice in 2017.

What do you think about the Niagara college also?
Thank you

Nigerians are eligible for this
Check with CIBC
Just that it must be a minimum of 10k CAD
they will send you form and wire instructions and your bank account details
Funds must be by wire
You would get your GIC in few days.
When doing GIC make sure to your local bank fill the form accurately as specified.
Get your TELEX/ SWIFT copy from them as well (charges apply)
Please is this the cheapest method of paying school fees?
Also is Gic different from Cibc

Hello Guys,

Please does anyone know if and when IRCC will close for the year? I sent my passport to Abuja last Friday and got an email from VFS that it's been delivered to IRCC on Monday for processing. I want to book a flight for January 3rd, not sure if this is a great idea.

Will appreciate your thoughts on this.

Hello Guys
I just got the NSE letter requesting for my Bank statement showing necessary funds and IELTS result and i need your advise on what to do

1. The only prove of Funds i used for the earlier application is a Sponsorship letter from my employer (A Nigerian University) stating that my study will be fully sponsored. Can i still Use this sponsorship Letter for the NSE?

2. Should i just collect money from a close relative and send to them ? (All My documents, SOP, and others have suggested that my home institution will sponsor my study). will this not look contradictory?

Please help oo

Guys, i need your help please as i am confused

Good evening all. I have been a silent follower. Thumbs up and well done to all for the good work. So much information and counsel that has been picked up from This forum.

I have an Enquiry about the NSE process. I’m trying to generate bank statement online, the only information requested for is the applicants name. No question about UCI or application number. Is this the same process with others who have generated their statements online.

Also I think one is supposed to pick send statement to Embassy.

Kindly please help clarify these issues. Thank you.

@Justwise, we have also called for a thread that is specifically meant for "new students arriving Canada". The "living in Canada" thread is not directly relevant to our situation post-approval. Most of the time, discussions on that page are for PR folks. Please help look into it. Gracias, Chiefo!

Yes you are correct and on the right path. I hope you are generating it from your own account so you can also select whether you are the sponsor or applicant. At least for GTB, they specify. Best of luck.

GIC is the Guaranteed Investment Certificate (GIC)
Just showing proof of funds

CIBC is the bank - Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce that you can obtain a GIC from.

You can also get from other banks in canada as well.

For payment of school fees, I doubt this would happen as you can only activate your bank account in canada upon arrival if you are using CIBC.

Thank you. I was actually looking for the cheapest method of paying tuition fees since form A is not obtainable based on the fact that I can't even get the account details of Concordia university.
