Good evening house. Please I want to ask if i book a 2weeks flight to the UK can I call the airline when I get to the UK and reschedule my return date to 7days instead of 2weeks? I am only going to visit a friend in Manchester. And please can I get a airline that will do free date change for my return? Thanks.
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by Jbab: 12:30am On Dec 20, 2020
You can book for 7days visit but with current issue on lockdown I don't think it's advisable for now.

Did you mean I should book for 7days ticket? I am going to Manchester and Manchester is not on lockdown. Planning to go in January though. Thanks for your response.

If it's not a family visit I suggest you reschedule your trip. Please note that the above is my personal opinion and not the government policy directive.
No it is not a family visit, I have no family in London so hotel reservation it is then, the sad part of it is the visa will be expiring soon and I really want to disvirgin the passport, but you are right the current circumstances are not favourable ...the funny thing is flights are still going , very confusing....oh well

I think I understand how you feel but we must be cautious at least till a vaccine is widely available. Flights wouldn't stop totally as some people are always exempt from certain travel restrictions eg. diplomats, returning citizens etc.

Also airline can't really advise on steps to take as they aren't an immigration unit. If you have travel insurance the company might be able to sort you out. The flight might be cancelled too as normally once there's a lockdown airlines reduce their flights to the route.

Don't worry even if your visa expires, you can easily get a new one, just add a comment on the additional information box that you couldn't travel due to the pandemic.

Normally if you are flying economy you might have to pay the price difference. For business class most airlines offer free date change.

But you will have to contact specific airlines to ask and be sure. You can spend your whole trip in quarantine at your friends house.

.

The first part is so true. I flew Airfrance on Sunday and I know how they stressed and delayed me in the name of trying to confirm if visitor visa's are allowed into the U.K

Did you mean I should book for 7days only as I can do covid 19 test on 5th day after which I can leave quarantine and come back to Nigeria on the 7th day. Though I learnt the website to book for test to release is not working as such but I will go with cash so my host can pay with his card for me.

Dear Gurus in the house. My husband plan to invite my parents and sponsor the trip including flights. They will also be staying with us at our house when they arrive. My dad is retired but now runs a business. My mum also run her own small business. Will both of them be required to submit their bank statements since it's my husband sponsorsing the trip. Their bank statements will likely have irregular funds due to business, and I'm afraid it may affect their application. Could you please advice. Many thanks
Dear Gurus. Thanks to those that have responded. I really appreciate. Lastly I want to confirm again if their bank statements are necessary or not, since my husband will fully sponsor.
My dad retired in August, 2020 but they have not determined how much pension he will receive nor have they paid any to him yet.if he is to submit a bank statement, what statement will he submit. N.B. he runs like a small private estate management business, has block industry where he gets some income, and recently opened a hostel he built where he gets yearly rental payment. However i'm sure the in flow in his savings account will be irregular, as he doesn't have a separate account for all these businesses he does.
Secondly, when filling the employment status section. Should he fill self employed or retired?

Hi, u mean you flew Airfrance into the UK on Sunday being today (after PM's latest broadcast)? At Heathrow, what tier did you say you were going into from the airport pls? Was it at Heathrow POE they stressed you or at Nigeria Airport while they enquired if UK visitor visas were allowed into the country? I have someone due in on Tues on a Visitor visa, reason why I ask.

Sunday the 13th Dec. A week today. The stress was from Abuja Airport until Air france confirmed visitor visa's were allowed. The locator form had my address so they didnt ask where i was going to.

@graceodini, they asked and i told them. The border officer then informed me that isolation days had been reduced to 10days.

If you are in the UK and have the entitlement to work, then you tell the company that you've yet to get a NiNo, they will know what to do in terms of arranging a temporary code. And if you havent already applied, apply fast - they're no longer holding interviews due to Covid, so that has speeded up the process somewhat.

Thanks I really appreciate. The company arranged a temporal code and I have been interviewed. I will starting the job anytime subject to the new tier 4 restrictions in London

Ok sir. But I plan to do test to release after 5days so I can leave quarantine on time because I need to quickly come back to my place of work. Just want to use my visa before it expires in March.

That's not really what I meant. With regards to quarantine the last information am aware of is that the duration has been shortened to 10 days.

People can decide to quarantine for the whole trip. Since you are just travelling to see a friend and I'm guessing you will be staying with them then it should be fine for you to stay indoors in their house for the 7days (duration of stay).

If you would be in tier 4, you are pretty much stuck at home even after 'Test to Release' after 5 days. If not in tier 4, that means you are prepared to do private Covid test twice in the UK. You need one which test date and result date fall within 120 hours (5 days) prior to your departure from the UK back to Nig. The one you plan to do after 5 days would expire by the date you plan to leave back to Nig.

Pls ignore this. For some reason in my head I thought u wanted to come for 10 days

Hello everyone, Merry Christmas in advance. Please I need your opinion, advice and suggestions .

I did my masters in UK 2013 and few months to the end of my student visa I was mislead to do sham marriage to enable me stay. It backfired and I was on trial and sentenced to 10months.

A week before the end of the sentence I received a notice that I might be deported as my visa had expired the previous month. I was advised to either get an immigration lawyer or voluntary departure with the help of a token (£1000 or £1,500) i really can't remember, and 5yrs ban from entry uk.

I choose to leave voluntarily instead, i signed and I was paid the token then in 2014.
Please note: other 2 girls that was in the same kind of issue with me decided to take immigration lawyers and stayed back while i left for naija.

Thank God I had my masters certificate so I got a job with a very good company some months after. I got married and got pregnant, then my inlaw invited me to come and have my baby in U.S ‍♀️.

I applied for U.S B2 visa in 2018 without answering yes to been deported from other country cos I thought I was the one who choose to leave voluntarily. I got the 2yrs b2 visa and had my 1st and 2nd baby before the visa expires. Please note: I paid all my bills.

Now to the main issue; its been over 6yrs since the whole UK issue, I'm thinking of applying for a UK visit visa with my 2 kids to visit my anuty next year for her 60th birthday.
Please what are my chances?? Will they know that I didnt tell the U.S immigration team, that I lied about been removed hence me having 2 U.S citizen kids

I'm sorry for the long post. I just wanted to fill you all in so that you advice me accordingly. Pls help . Thank you.

Hello good evening, so I want to apply for 6 months tourist uk visa.I just finished my nysc last year and I’m jobless for now but I make cakes from home and have them delivered to people. I have aunties and uncles that can sponsor me here in Nigeria and in the uk. The last time I traveled was in 2010 as teenager with my mum, we applied for 6 months tourist visa and we were granted, travelled and spent 3 months in the us, and since then I have travelled because of school. What do you think I should do please because I’m thinking of applying for 2years or I should just do the 6 months tourist visa

Not an expert though but I don’t think your US interview has any effect on your UK application now. Since you were not denied, it’s actually a good thing. You can try to apply normally and tell UK the truth about your ban which i’m sure it has elapsed.

Well done to all the gurus in the house. I am a silent reader and I must confess you guys are top-notch. Please how best can I address error made on my application while filling *total money I make In a year*. I erroneously stated only house keep allowance without adding my salary. I have submitted the application but yet to upload the supporting documents. Please can I include a letter to address this error while uploading my documents? Or how best can I rectify the situation since I can't access the form again for correction.
