Zaria
The second largest city in kaduna state
Zaria is a major city in Kaduna State in northern Nigeria, as well as being a Local Government Area. Formerly known as Zazzau, it was one of the original seven Hausa city-states. Today, it is known for housing Nigeria's largest university, Ahmadu Bello University, as well as being home to a number of prominent Nigerians.
Zaria's economy is primarily based on agriculture. Staples are guinea corn and millet. Cash crops include cotton, groundnuts and tobacco.[1] Not only is Zaria a market town for the surrounding area, it is the home of artisans from traditional crafts like leather work, dyeing and cap making, to tinkers, printshops and furniture makers.[5] Zaria is also the center of a textile industry that for over 200 years has made elaborately hand-embroidered robes that are worn by men throughout Nigeria and West Africa.
Because Zaria is north of the rail junction at Kaduna, it has equal rail access to the seaports at Lagos and Port Harcourt. However, only the railway between Lagos and Kano is functional, as the eastern line of Nigeria's rail network is not operational. This means that Zaria currently has rail access to Lagos and Kano to the north but not Port Harcourt.

From 1914 to 1927, Zaria was the break-of-gauge junction station for the Bauchi Light Railway to the tin mines at Jos.

Kafanchan
Kafanchan (Fantswam: A̠byin Fantswam; Nikyob: Manɡyanɡ) is a mainly Christian-dominated town in the southern part of Kaduna State, Nigeria. It is the location of a junction station of the Nigerian Railway Corporation, and it sits on the line connecting Port Harcourt, Enugu, Kafanchan, Kuru, Bauchi, and finally Maiduguri.[2] As of 2007, Kafanchan had an estimated population of 83,09
People will only tell you about the crisis by in all honesty kafanchan is a quiet beautiful town in southern KADUNA. Ask the southerners about it and you won't be disappointed. It's high time people stop seeing southern KADUNA as a crisis ridden area filled will cannibals. Visit the area alittle a you will be surprised at the hospitality of the people

Hello, when attacking any race, tribe, or region please do well to state yours. I enjoy seeing clap backs and it won't be possible from the insulted party if you don't state yours.

You are clearly not in tune with happenings. If you are, you would have known this is not the first time pictures of roads, bridges and streets are posted about the north on this forum.

And if the north doesn't have those things in the picture, shame on the north. You would have explained what you are spending the money FG gives you to do

Ok thanks alot
I admired the way you avoided insult in your reply bt please the trend is about the beauty of north not otherwise, their are alot of trends about how kaduna is doing well generating 45billion thereby making it the 6th state with the highest igr bt not in these trend. if you don't anything positive to add, silence would be appreciated alot.

Fine pictures do not change the fact that your governor paid terrorists after the terrorists murdered citizens.

It is one thing to have fine pictures and another thing to have a peaceful life.

Does beautiful picture bring peace? No. You have beautiful pictures but rotten security.

And your shameless lie about not being a northerner further shows your desperation to make a hell hole look like a heaven.

Kano
Kano is the capital city of Kano State in North West zone of Nigeria. It is in the Sahelian geographic region, south of the Sahara. Kano is the commercial nerve centre of Northern Nigeria and is the second-largest city in Nigeria. The Kano metropolis initially covered 137 square kilometres (53 square miles) and comprised forty four local government areas (LGAs)—Kano Municipal, Fagge, Dala, Gwale, Tarauni and Nasarawa; however, it now covers two additional LGAs—Ungogo and Kumbotso. The total area of Metropolitan Kano is now 499 square kilometres (193 square miles), with a population of 2,828,861 as of the 2006 Nigerian census; the latest official estimate (for 2016) is 3,931,300.
Kano is one of the Hausa Bakwai and the principal inhabitants of the city are the Hausa people. However, there is a significant Fula population. As in most parts of Northern Nigeria, the Hausa language is widely spoken in Kano. The city is the capital of the Kano Emirate. The current emir, Aminu Ado Bayero, was enthroned on 9 March 2020 after the last emir Muhammadu Sanusi II was deposed. The city's Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport, the main airport serving northern Nigeria, was named after politician Aminu Kano

ECONOMY:
The economic significance of Kano dates back to the pre-colonial Africa when Kano city served as the southernmost point of the famous trans-Sahara trade routes. Kano was well connected with many cities in North Africa and some cities in southern Europe.[36] Formerly walled, most of the gates to the Old City survive. The Old City houses the vast Kurmi Market, known for its crafts, while old dye pits—still in use—lie nearby. In the Old City are the Emir's Palace, the Great Mosque, and the Gidan Makama Museum.

The products exported from Kano to North Africa include textile materials, leather and grains. Kano was connected with trans-Atlantic trade in 1911 when a railway line reached Kano. Kano is a major centre for the production and export of agricultural products like hides, skins, peanuts, and cotton. Kano houses a railway station with trains to Lagos routed through Kaduna, while Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport lies nearby. Because Kano is north of the rail junction at Kaduna, it has equal access to the seaports at Lagos and Port Harcourt. The city maintains its economy and business even in the 21st century with it producing the richest black man—Aliko Dangote—whose great grand father Alhassan Dantata was the richest during Nigeria's colonial period.

Ado Bayero became emir of Kano in 1963. Kano state was created in 1967 from the then Northern Nigeria by the Federal military government. The first military police commissioner, Audu Bako, is credited with building a solid foundation for the progress of a modern society.I was there at the time, and found him very progressive. He started a lot of development projects—network of roads, a reliable urban water supply. He was a keen farmer himself and funded construction of number of dams to provide irrigation. Thanks to his policies Kano produced all types produce and export it to the neighbouring states.

Inconsistent government policies and sporadic electricity supply have hampered industry, so that Kano's economy relies on trade, retail and services. The emergence of large retail outlets starting from early 2000 with Sahad Stores and Jifatu departmental stores revived investor confidence in the sector which led to the construction of the Ado Bayero mall in, then the largest shopping mall in Nigeria with a retail space of 24,000 square metres (260,000 square feet)It has the popular filmhouse cinemas, the South African retail giants Shoprite and Game stores as anchor partners.

Kano has six districts: the Old City, Bompai, Fagge, Sabon Gari, Syrian Quarter, and Nassarawa.

As of November 2007, there were plans to establish an information technology park in the city.

The city is supplied with water by the nearby Challawa Gorge Dam, which is being considered as a source of hydro power.

The airline Kabo Air has its head office in the city.Kano is also headquarters of Azman Airlines, Max Air and various travel agency businesses.

You would have thought with all the billions seized by them, all the positions, all the states and LGAs, this infrastructure from the 1960s era would look something like their Muslim counterparts in Dubai.....but of course, it does not.
