If the box is a clone, should we go on to say phone might have been different. I’m not blaming anyone but fault might have been from the source, that box is a clone, even when it comes on, the IMEI on it might not tally.

If the box can speak clone, everything in it is clone and fake... It's as simple as that.

I am not arguing either. The packaging is fake/clone so whatever is in it shouldn't be original either.

That's my issue with some responses here.

It is clear from the screenshots of the conversation that wolfestein agreed to refund sirlop knowing full well what was sold didn't meet with the expectation of the buyer. For him to do a 360 degree and try to prove one thing or another is highly questionable for me. The screenshot provides clear evidence that a refund was agreed to. CASE CLOSED if you ask me cos I don't see what the issue is anymore

I openly asked for a 256gb brandnew 11 pro max on the 31st of January 2021 and Wolfenstein replied that he had, i told him I needed direct USA phone and not Dubai, I explained to him how I got a brandnew 256gb and when it was unboxed, I noticed it had 88% BH. He assured me he was giving me the best. we both reached a bargain . I was to pay four hundred and eighty five thousand (485). I had to pay twice cos I had issues with my account that day. He later sent me the picture of the phone and I sent him money. I completed the payment the next day being Monday 1st of February 2021. I sent sodiq to pickup same day. The phone was sent via flight to owerri yesterday and I got it the same day.I opened the package and noticed it was too light I had to open it and noticed the phone was 100% clone. I contacted him immediately and sent him the picture. I told him the phone wasn’t coming on. He told me to try and make it come on. I told him it wasn’t possible. He kept on dancing around that he sent me an original phone that he ran an imei check and the imei showed the phone was not yet activated. I showed him the imei on the box of the phone I received and he checked and it matched with what he sent earlier to me. He kept on telling me he sent an original phone. How can an original phone come with screen guard and inside nylon. It wasn’t even packaged like an iPhone. This guy is cunning and greedy. He’s been hawking this garbage for weeks. He even agreed to refund me yesterday night, but he changed today. He even told me to give the garbage he sent me to a technician to make it come on so that he will confirm from the imei in the phone.
If this guy thinks he can swindle me, he’s joking

I just tire for why he wan dey prrof baseless point oo. He should refund the guy and count his loss and he can't differentiate a clone from originals or he knows the condition but trying to play fast one. We no go gree

This is not Pythagoras theorem,if the imei seller sent to you matches that of the clone phone before shipping ,then your hands are clean.

If imei is different then there is trouble in paradise.

IMEI only matched that of box.

The phone was sealed, so how can seller have IMEI from phone?

IMEI sent was IMEI from box, so if one from phone differs, how would we know who scammed who

This is why using an escrow is highly recommended especially when a proper check cannot be done during the transaction cos of distance.

Issues like this won't arise.

The phone was sealed, so how would we know which IMEI was sent?
Cause clearly, Wolf only had access to box IMEI. If Wolf sent an IMEI screenshot of the phone, na different thing.

I opened it and noticed that the charger was as light as paper. The phone was inside a nylon pack and not the normal IPhone sealing that has factory nylon film on the screen. I raised alarm immediately. He then came up with the Imei rubbish asking me to put on the phone when he already knew it was a cloned phone and most times the imeis don’t match. Even the sim tray didn’t have imei written on it.

My Verdict:

The phone was shipped to Nigeria and was scrutinized by Wolf before he sent it to Sirlop. In my knowledge, wolf is not a new bie, so if it was clone, he would have known.
2. Sirlop said the client wanted a Brandnew sealed, so my question is: why did he open the phone to confirm content, if the client really wanted Brandnew sealed
3. Why didnt he send pictures immediately he opened content and had to wait to do some comparism
4. Why was Sirlop skeptical about sending the imei in the first instance
5. How can a Brandnew sealed phone show not activated and Findmyphone is also off
6. There is every possibility that this might be the seller fault and also Sirlop fault
7. Why does the phone in a Nylon, have no screen guard, but the other phone he showed have a screen guard and visible marks
8. Every phone that enters recovery mode in android, can be fixed by the power botton to enter home
9. I dont have any relationship with both parties, so i imply we look into this

Okay, so you're saying, when the phone got to seller, he noticed something was off and decided to sell it to someone far away, and then when you informed him, he agreed on a refund, and later inisited the IMEI must match before he refunds?
Using the Matching IMEI as a deal breaker is a sure win for him tho, But at this point we are all on the fence men
