Hi all.. @justmellow, @frankrobbn, @lekiboboe. Pls can you give us a value on "lump sum"... At how much do we need to give explAnation. For instance... My account has smelled 3m transfer at once in the past 6 months. Does that mean that any lump sum that's more than 3m must be explained? |

Ose2021:No Timeline for Lagos VFS to get your Stamped Passport back. For some it took 30-40 days to get their Passport back, which is not cool, unlike Abuja that return Stamped Passports after a Week or two The best way to get across to LAGOS VFS is by Phone call but the challenge there is "before they pick, the cloth you spread outside might have dried up "Someone came up with a creative idea on how to get LAGOS VFS on fone without redialing their number every second See the content below Strategy to reach out to LAGOS VFS (via Call) https://www.nairaland.com/5818588/canadian-student-visa-thread-part/692#97051549 |

Hello house! I have been a silent reader and I must say say this forum has been very informative. Kudos guys. I am about to submit a study permit application but I have some concerns. I am self sponsoring my self .. the cost of my masters tuition is about 11500 CAD .. I have that money saved somewhere ... I want to pay my complete tuition to aid my application but the problem is after payment I won’t be left with anything.. the additional 10kcad I am suppose to have in my account is not available... I have a family friend who works for a good firm.. I am thinking of sending my money to his account and have him pay the fees and act like my sponsor..that way I will use his statement of account.. my father’s account isn’t too strong ... but we have some tenants ... can I add their receipts and his statement and make him my co-sponsor. Please guys advice me .. what is the best way to prove my financial capability in this situation. I need advice. |

glam12:Nothing can be done to fast track. From the experiences of people here, it was established that Abuja is way faster than Lagos. @Elizee, hang in there. You will get it soon. |

Hello @ Just Mellow, Thank you very much for the advise. I did check out McMaster University, I saw an MA in labor, also found an MA program in Communication and New Media which is one of my interests as the handling of social media responses is one of my tasks in my customer care role the only snag is that it seems the course is not thesis based unlike the labor course but it was not clearly stated on the course site so I am still trying to verify that. Please do let me now what you feel of the Communication course. Also the fees for McMaster is almost twice Unisask…also checking to see if I can get a partly funded program. Thank you once again. Should voluntary work be filled in the IMM form? Note : Finished NYSC in April 2019. I've been volunteering at my Dads company. I need advice. Abeg oo |

glam12:Yea Abuja seems to be far 'faster' than Lagos, based on people's experiences shared here. For now, people should consider it when submitting their passport. I guess their timeline is not more than 2 weeks, unlike Lagos that takes more than a month in most cases. |

1.Good evening house, I want to use an uncle as my sponsor for my Canadian student permit application. This same uncle stays in the same city I would be attending school in, is this safe? 2.Also am I to state all family ties I have in Canada? 3.If I decide to use my mum as a sponsor, does her investment and land properties count? 4.Is it safe if she gets large deposits of money in support of my masters? |

Rootiab:Did you get an initial submission confirmation after you submitted? |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 18 by deommanuel: 9:57pm On Feb 06, 2021 |
onomss:Hello, This can go two ways, and one of them isn't looking very good. "I think" if you transfer the money to your dad's account and have him act as your sponsor, the VO will definitely be bothered about that. How can you send your sponsor money to be your "sponsor"? Dunno if you get the point. You still have an option with the family member, but I don't think transfering the money from your account to his/hers will be a good idea. If the family member has a good SOA, he can use it outrightly, but he has to show so much commitment by maybe paying the 11500cad, while you allow your savings act as your living expenses. He also needs to submit all necessary documents and write a strong SOP. But then I'm looking at the prospect of getting sponsored by a family member when your dad is still alive. This is just what I think. Personally I'd go with the family member option, since the program is just for 1 year I think. Kindly allow for more contributions. IT WILL END IN PRAISES IN THE SHORTEST POSSIBLE TIME |

Lysega:Hello, 1) Yes, I've seen several persons who used a sponsor in Canada and got approved. But if your mom is capable why not go with her? 2) PLEASE STATE ALL YOUR FAMILY TIES IN CANADA 3) YES, THEY COUNT VERY MUCH! 4) YES, it is safe. But every large sum of money has to be explained. E.g sale of car. If that's the regular inflow from her Business then it's cool. IT WILL END IN PRAISES IN THE SHORTEST POSSIBLE TIME. |
