Summer 2021

If you have 6 months or more left in your passport before your application date then you don’t need to renew your passport. Though at some point you will be travelling with two passports.. one expired with visa on it and the other current with no visa on it.

Good evening guys, I am about to apply for my mums visit visa (hopefully this week) for her to come and help with my baby when i give birth in April. For new members on thread, you can click on my profile and view my posts to have a full understanding of my situation including to view my mum's past 2 refusal letters.

I need an advice as regards accommodation please... at the moment my husband and i live in a shared house, but we have had plans to move out before my mum comes in end march. We are still searching for a place as it has been somewhat difficult to get a suitable place. I intend submitting my mums application tommorrow. I have included in my application the TA of my current place (which clearly shows it is a shared house). I have been completely honest with them and also stated in my inivtation letter that my hubby and i are stlll searching for a place and my mum would be staying with us at our new house.

is this honest approach good enough, will it be safe for me to proceed or would the gurus rather suggest i wait till whenever i find a new place so i can submit the new TA(the challenege with this is that i dont know how long this would take and i really dont want anything to rush me into settling for a place that wouldnt be very child friendly)

Yes, you can upload the other documents when you get to TLS. The fee is 11,700 naira irrespective of the number of documents you wish to add to the already uploaded documents.

what did you put as the reason for her visit?
I think you should wait till your baby is here before inviting her to come.
Accommodation is a very good factor for granting visitation visa most especially during this pandemic. With your current TA plus new baby plus your mum, that is more like overcrowding to me.

Hello, everyone.
I have a valid visa that expires March, 2021 and my passport expires in September.
I'd like to apply for a 2-year visa.
Do I have to wait until the current visa expires?
And my passport, how do I go about it, please?
Thank you.

The UK doesn't require you to have 6 months validity on your passport before applying for a visa or travelling. Just make sure your travel dates are within your passport validity.

For example you can apply for a 2 years Visa in Feb/March for travel in April as long as return date is before the expiration of your passport in September then you should be fine.

Apply for regular visa if you have the required documents. Both transit and regular visa will go through same process

Simply put as coming over for Childcare, I am not sure they allow visiting for childcare as a good reason. What is your proposed budget for her trip?

Oh okay....budget wise, 1000 pounds for flight ticket. Then while she is at ours we will definitely be feeding her nd covering any miscellaneous expense.

Did you do a breakdown of this in your application? Also remember to mention the amount budgeted for her , amount for return ticket, and the exact date she's leaving UK.

The reaction is likely to be that she is coming to work as at child care, which will be refused.

Hello house, I have a question regarding UK NARIC.

I sent in my transcript and statement of result for assessment, and below is the response I got:

Dear XYZ,

We can provide an assessment of your BA based on the final degree examinations results, however please note that we have not been provided with a copy of your final certificate. As a result, the following sentence will be included in your letter: "although no final certificate has been presented, evidence of successful course completion has been provided". Please note that this sentence does not affect the level of the assessment or its validity. Of you wish to continue on this basis, please click on the following icon in the action column. If you do not wish for this sentence to be included in your assessment please upload a copy of your final degree certificate before your assessment is completed and posted. If you are unable to send in your final certificate and you wish to send it in at a later date, then we will charge you extra £ plus VAT plus your delivery charge to reissue your statement. Kind regards, UK NARIC.

Due to the ongoing ASUU strike, I am unable to process my final certificate at this time. Do you think it will be a problem if I proceed with my statement/transcript? Dear house, kindly advise

@justwise

Please could you help me with this seeing that you have recently processed ur naric comparability assessment. i want to ask
1. can someone use a student copy for naric?
2. Will I have to still get in touch with my school for verification from naric...as in; will NARIC demand a transcript directly from school following my application?

Thank you.

1) Yes.

2) You will have to get both certificate and transcript from the school and scan them to NARIC by yourself including a letter of English language proficiency from the school as well.

I disagree with number 2.

I used my student's copy and WAEC as proof of English

Hello Giselle, thanks for your response... so actually in my application the word childcare or support isnt there. I was just paraphrasing to prevent long typing.

So what i have said is firstly her being absent at my wedding caused her depression , mentally and emotionally. Same for me nd hubby .This left a very long lasting impact on her hence my husband and i would like her to be present at the birth of her first grand child.

I am soo sorry Giselle i cant even remember what you asked me to write. Please is what i ah e written far off from your suggestion?? Or i will be glad it you could remind me again (forgive a terrible student like me)
