Hmmm!

Witnesses said the crisis erupted on Thursday when a porter carrying a basket of tomato inadvertently nudged a Yoruba woman. The woman allegedly retaliated and organised a group of Yoruba thugs to avenge.

Similar case that caused another Jos religious crisis back then, the whole city turned bloody the next thing we hard was Kano is on fire, next Bauchi and so on , we should be careful cos the way this issue is going I don't know.....

This a very simple issue" sorry madam" pls I no see you, and the woman in her will like sorry my foot, continue her way and move on.

They have turned the situation to this, I knew it was gonna come to that. And I thought it's all about the dreaded Fulani gunmen .

Wow.
That's what we've been saying since 1960 yet they keep killing us.
I don't pray it happens to you.

Buh you'll know how it feels if it happens to your closest / person you loved most.

Don't cry

Believe me brother, I have seen it all. Am Yoruba, grew in the north, got caught up in 6 different riots in the north. My closest friend got shot, mum and sister almost lynched. My car smashed. I had a narrow escape. But how? Same northerns helped me! Most northerners (the enlightened ones among them) know. Its all politically instigated!

I have reasons to be embittered with northerners but why would I do that when I know better that the reactions you see them portray is not them really but just a handful of hoodlums being engineered by some very few selfish individuals.

On several counts Northerners (the enlightened ones) living on same street with us chased away hoodlums when they were about to invade our streets.

If you have lived in the north you will know northerners are as hospitable and friendly just as the Yorubas.

It's a fight for interest by some few selfish ones. The innocent and law abiding people irrespective of their tribe should not be touched.

The hoodlums or kidnappers should be the target.

All the tribes and Ethnic groups should find away to educate each other to understand these things not to blindly take sides and yield ourselves as instruments to the selfish manipulations and interests.

By now you should know that all political interest in this country are very personal and selfish.

The south west used to be a very peaceful region before now, just wondering what has happened to my belove region.

The governors, traditional rulers and the Nigerian law enforcement agencies need to do something urgently before things go out of control.

If proper care is not taken and this mess degenerated into a full scale war, south west may become the flash point.

Nothing can be done
Been a thug is far better than going to school is the message the south west leaders have given the masses
The south west that used to boast of an educated population now have a huge number as thugs
So what's the need to go to school if the thugs are the ones living like kings
This is the main issue
South west has lost its values

So I am appealing to all Northerners in the SW to be careful or come back home. Those guys are looking for ways to loot your business. As EndSars no work, they are exploring creative ways to loot. So make una be careful.

May God help Nigeria.

Shebi una see? Please Northerners be careful. Apart from fear of being used for ritual, there's also the risk of unprovoked attacks by hoodlums. Please don't go out late. Always walk in group and protect yourself. If you can't protect yourself, please come back home. It's not worth it.

God bless Nigeria.

You shouldn't blame the Southerners or Northerners for this. I can assure you there will be more and worse since our Government and politicians have choose to be wicked, greedy, tribalistic,no justice and reasoning with the society.
A situation where Buhari will seat down there as mumu,a situation where the Governors are playing politics with the lives of their citizens. Or is it the situation where our Police and security agencies behaves with the highest form of recklessness and impunity!? . What els do u expect?

Violence is the product of a failure of communication between diverse interests in any relationship be it between spouses, business partners or ethnic nationalities.

Why can't Nigerians simply sit down round a table and negotiate our their differences and find common grounds on their interests. Why have we found ourselves in a sitiatuon whereby we tolerate the deliberate weakening and discrediting of the Legislature.

Why can't this country be restructured to keep her on an even keel. How many more people must die, be sacrificed to the gods of discord and division.

Everyone giving everyone else ultimatums. Where are the sane heads here to tell each interest group that they will each not get everything they want and that nations are built by everyone contributing his quota and making sacrifices evenly across board.

Where are the real nationalists who can see through the tunnel of ethno-religious sentiment....none.

Just selfishness and greed by all, mindlessness in authority and ignorance on the streets. Few are thinking aright. What is wrong with the black man.

Why is there always bloodshed anywhere their is fulani?

Their are ethic settlements of strangers all over Nigeria. E.g, there is large yoruba settlement in the east, south and north.

There is larger igbo settlement in the north, west and south south.

No one is interested in violence, but in the epistle you typed above, you could at least caution your northerners to live in peace with their neighbours.

Yorubas live in the north too, how come violence between them and northerners is uncommon?

If you really mean your "God bless Nigeria" , then you should refrain from demonising one tribe, and counting your people as the saints.

When issues like this arise, both parties have the fault, most certainly.

you failed to understand how tolerant NorthererS are on their own land.

I have just woken up to the tragic news of the killing of my secondary school classmate Jamilu Tanko Ibrahim. He was a trailer driver who, until his untimely death, had been transporting goods from North to South especially to Lagos. He was lynched and left to roast in his trailer that was set ablaze by rampaging youths who attacked Shasha Market. His charred body was retrieved yesternight. The problem with this kind of crisis is as long as you are from northern Nigeria, you are Hausa or Fulani. You are a target even if you are a Christian. A Christian from Michika local government area of Adamawa state was hacked to death in Osun when Sunday Ighoro's crusade gathered pace few weeks ago.

Targeting innocent people who left their comfort zones to cater for their families is an invitation to anarchy. I am sure a vast majority of Igbo and Yoruba are peace loving people for their millions of their fellow relatives in northern Nigeria who are doing well in business and civil service. But the way Nnamdi Kanu and Ighoro are playing to people's sentiments and going extra miles as to incite their unruly youths into attacking innocent people, killing and maiming on the pretext of warding off the Fulani invasion of their land, mark my words, Arewa is a dangerous place for retaliation, and I only hope peace will reign.
What is this?

Myetti Allah already said this a million times on different occasions, so you are not saying anything new.

And now with these actions, the people have called your bluff and await what your reprisals would be.

I'm Igbo, but any igboman still living in the religious terror torn North tiill date after seeing how hopelessly degraded the region is by insecurity won't have my sympathy if something goes wrong.

Until we stop this archaic way of using cows to destroy people's farmlands, this circle of violence will not stop. Do not use your business to affect others, cow rearing is a private business. This is dumb. Ban on open grazing, will also put kidnappers and bandits out of business, because then, living in the forests will be declared a felony, and forest guards and rangers can move in, to engage people occupying lands in the forests illegally.

I do not support evil but the way some Muslim Hausa and Fulani behave in the south shows that they have a mentality of owning Nigeria, this will always cause problems. I have met many Hausa Christians even Muslims that I take as my brothers very nice and they look at u as compatriot but there are many who have this superioty mentality this can never go down well with the host community. Up north Southerners don't caugh, they do their legitimate businesses but down south any small fracas they will stab or kill u. THE SOUTH IS WAKING UP, TO BE OR NOT TO BE. RESTRUCTURE THE COUNTRY LET EVERY BODY KNOW HIS OR HER BOUNDS BUT THEY SAID IS NON NEGOTIABLE. THE SOUND OF RAIN IS COMING NO ONE WILL BE FREE FROM IT. ONLY THOSE THAT NO THEIR GOD AND IS SURE OF THE SALVATION OF THEIR SOUL. LET HIM THAT HAVE EARS HEAR WHAT TIME IS SAYING.
