Want to know and hear the truth? Look up to African countries e.g east Africa, you will be an employer and not employee. If you let EU,UK or the Americas snow pictures decieve you, note this post.

"The RUGA agenda on paper is telling us in beautiful lines that:

1. Government will GAZETTE LANDS from the 36 STATES of Nigeria.

2. These lands will be dedicated to RANCHING to accommodate Pastoralists and their Cows so they can stop wandering all over the places where they have been at constant friction with Farmers.

3. The Government will provide everything the Cattle farmers need so they won't have cause to ever wonder outside of the Grazing area.

4. In all likelihood, by any reasonable balance of probability, the majority [ if not 100% ] of the occupants of that RUGA will be FULANIS. And we must remember that this RUGA are extremely large expanse of land as big as an average LGA. The Fulanis will therefore be kept out of mischief and th criminal elements amongst them easily identifiable.

That is the way it is painted but Nigerians are much wiser because we have spent the last 60 years studying our leaders especially their propensity for insincerity and abandonment of projects!

The first thing that is a CERTAINTY is that the Government, somehow or any how, will derail from the original intensions of the project, assuming the intensions were even honest in the first place.

There are plenty basis for this cynism.

1. Somewhere between Ore and Benin, the Federal Government sited a "LEPERS COLONY" in an area off the Ore-Benin expressway where LEPERS were kept and being taken care of.

The idea was to reduce the risk of spreading the dreaded LEPROSY disease so they camped all patients/victims in that place.

I am not sure the Government sustained that project for up to 5 years. It became a common scene on that expressway to see the LEPERS trooping out in large numbers to line the dangerous expressroads as BEGGARS.

2. Somewhere in the town of ORU, near Ijebu-Ode, the same busy-body Federal Government sited what it called "REFUGEE CAMP" to assist the rescued citizens of Liberia during the civil wars in that country.

The Nigerian Government in less than a year abandoned them after a short while, obviously some people have just used the plan to sweep money from the budget.

Those guys quickly poured onto the streets, some had to take to crime, many became beggars and their women went into prostitution.

It was terrible for the Ijebu People of ORU.

Now, tell me, a Federal Government with this antecedents will now embark on a project of creating RUGA where Pastoralists will be encouraged and assisted to live in and NEVER TO LEAVE.

What will happen is very easy to predict:

1. The Fulanis would have been ASSIGNED LAND BY LAW, FREE OF CHARGE all over the 36 States of the country.

2..They will IMMEDIATELY POUR all the population of FULANIS they can find from all over the world into those lands.

3. They will quickly install Serikis all over the 36 RUGA who will gradually build an Emirate.

4. The 36 RUGAs will have Military Garrisons for FULANI geurilla fighters.

5. The Government will make a show of the efficiency at the RUGA for one or two years and abandon them.

6. Gradually, the Government will certainly STOP supplying FREE FEEDS and WATER for their cows in the RUGA.

7. As the Pastoralists DONT DESIRE or have any plans to spend a kobo on the animals in the course of their business, the HERDSMEN WILL TAKE TO THE STREETS AGAIN!!!!

8. What it will then mean is that the HERDSMEN will HOLD THEIR LAWFUL RUGA and at same time will resume the HARASSMENT OF FARMERS ON THEB OUTSIDE OF THE RUGA and this time, they are fully fortified with more than adequate capacity for TERRORISM. They will knock every of their Neighbours to submission.

In due course, they will remember Uthman Dan Fodio's delayed agenda and there can't be a better time to resume than at a time when they have enough men, resources of 36 strong bases and a Federal Security infrastructure that is most certianly under their control.

In all of their planning, the planners and their conspirators will assume that every other Nigerians are dumb and stupid."

~ Adedamola Adetayo

Say NO to RUGA.

@OP:

If you could save N7m via a business in Nigeria, you should be able to replicate that.

36 yrs old IMHO is too old to travel out to start a first degree and searching for a job thereafter.

If you want to go back to school, look for a Nigerian part time or online course in your field of interest so you can keep doing your business to sponsor yourself through school.

You can even reach out to Covenant University and Co if you are particular about your institution.

You can go for your masters later when you have a continuous source of income that can sponsor you.

the bolded
How did you reach that conclusion?

People should stop asking stupid and fake questions here. If you have a job that can fetch you N7m savings , you would not be thinking of relocating outside Nigeria.

A little back story.
I am a 36 YO guy with no university certificate, was too wayward to finish school in FUTO then, left school in my 2nd year for a 4 year course.

Tried my hands on business years later and currently have 7M naira saved.
Now, I want to go for degree and eventually start a family .
I am considering seeking admission in a UK or Canadian school. Luckily, I have sponsors .

For a guy of my age , looking to study IT related course or physiotherapy and eventually seeking residency, would you recommend UK or Canada?
Please I need supported answers.

Thank you all.

Whatever decision you take, don't forget you are 36 years old.

See let me tell u the best thing, for your age going for a degree program to canada will be kinda hard, you're 36, even 25 dey find it hard not to talk of 36...I really dont know much about UK study visa sha, I think if you're able to pay the tuition fee den u would get the visa but UK universities tuition fee is very expensive, 7m might not be enough...so I would advise you try a small European countries first like Lithuania, Estonia, Finland, Norway, Ukraine...u get your degree n it's easier to move to your dream country from here...

Which is better? A 45 year old with loads of money starting a family at that age, or a 36 year old struggler with a family? What is the advantage?

Well said.

The way some people reason baffles me; someone is planning how to get a better life for himself despite having couple of millions in naira; that person is here talking about having grandchildren.

You can tell these are the kind of people who say marriage and children bring good luck without making adequate plans for their future.

People should start putting on their thinking caps.

Believe me, tuition fee may be highly exorbitant at those destinations especially Canada, you could pay as high as $15,000 per session which I'm sure you can't afford. The best option you have is to write one of those IELTS exams for undergraduate depending on the country of your choice, through that, depending on your performance, you could get a partially/fully sponsored scholarship which will take off the financial burden you or your family would bear.

If I should advice you, use part of the #7M to process the admission (getting a tutor, writing exams, getting visa and buying ticket.) If possible, look for any investment you could weave together before you leave Nigeria, this is internet age, your location plays little role in what you do at any part of the world. You could be out there and still be running things back here.

I never think it is worth spending your hard-earned money on a degree abroad, you might be stuck in the middle of everything which will be tremendously disastrous for you.

I got something from this. But please, are you saying someone can get a full scholarship or partial funding for an undergraduate program abroad? If yes, how possible? Thanks in anticipation.

I wouldn't advise you to go for an undergraduate with that money because it's nowhere near the amount needed for it. Considering the fact you wanna study either Physio or IT. Both courses are expensive especially Physiotherapy which is medically inclined.

However, I still wouldn't deny the fact that those courses are 'hot cake' in the labour market most especially in those countries highlighted by you. If you had gotten a BSc. degree before it would have made your transition to any country easier especially the UK that has 2-year post study visa.

I would advise you to probably go to a school in Nigeria probably a private University in order not to be affected by the forseen unforseen circumstances such as ASUU strike e.t.c. That's if you're in a hurry. Mind you, there's no age limit to knowledge.. Also you can go to a School of nurse in Nigeria which is like 3 years and afterwards you get your RN (Registered Nurse). Your transition to the UK should definitely be easier with this Nurse route.

Stay safe and eat well!.
