This is where you are ignorant. The church fund is for their members not the general public. Unlike government funds which entails compulsory levy, church's own is voluntary

The church is a registered social entity and it solicits funds from its congregation, who are public citizens of Nigeria. Voluntary or involuntary, any contribution made to the church belongs to the members of the church, NEVER the church. And since each member cannot reclaim that money individually the church management are holding funds and assets in trust as trustees for the general public (the GOVERNMENT!).

I know this concepts are too hard for the average Nigerian (corrupt and stupid).

Disregarding the message said...

As for you guys saying that he's not meant to build factories... You should hav a rethink cos, that's how wealth should be evenly distributed..

A quick one, how many persons can afford the so called fees from dat school?

This country is just DO AS YOU LIKE.

What kind of factories do you want him to build? Can you be specific please because factory is just too generic. Factories employ mainly uneducated people to lift things and run machines. Many are also one of the worst paid everywhere in the world.
Oyedepos ministry has invested heavily into the education sector, but that doesnt seem to be enough for you.
They have pure water factory, bakeries, printing press which are all factories too. These usually service their own community.
What factory do you want exactly?
Shoe making factory? Or sugar making industries? Or noodles production?
I guess they could consider that also, but remember many of their members and their graduates are also doing this too in their own capacity.
Perhaps they should run a bank to give business loans to their members , but knowing how Nigerians hate servicing loans, I wouldn't advice that.
Personally, I am really impressed with how far Covenant University, and its community has come. I doubt anything can change my mind about how it's run so far.

You have to wonder what they're teaching cos even the graduates Covenant is churning out are part of the problem instead of being part of the solution.

Winners preaches prosperity without preaching much of righteousness.
When you exalt prosperity over virtues of righteousness, you can be sure that your followers will do anything to gain that prosperity even committing sins that unbelievers won't.

The irony with Christianity is that a unbeliever believes he is committing sin when we steals but a Grace and Prosperity preaches have taught their followers that even if they steal, it is not a sin because Christ has paid for all their sins.

At the end of the day, Christians who should be part of the solution have become more of the problem.

Interestingly you can't blame this pastors because there are Bible verses that support this claim, mostly John and Paul's epistles.

If only Christianity had continued the way the missionaries introduced it to Nigeria, clearly, the Nigeria we have today would be the most prosperous nation in the would but unfortunately the reverse is the case.

Both Christians and Muslims are robbing the Nations and dry and the masses are to suffer for it. Although directly or indirectly the elites are also suffering from this insecure and undder-developrd country they've created.

How do you get prosperous in God without salvation?
Does God cut corners to bless his people?
Mat 6:33- once applied I believe you will shut up and seek God kingdom first cos, thats the platform for everyone kingdom prosperity. I just gave you a secret that will change your life for good

Where and when did you carried out the research?
Research shows that minimum 70% of all the students in Kingdom Heritages (Primary Schools), Faith Academy (secondary school), Landmark and Covenant Universities are all WINNERS.
Talking about tithe, if you used your brain , you will understand that the remaining 90% are in the hands of church members who are WINNERS.
Jealousy will just kill you guys, your fathers are using your money to sponsor terrorist, while our father is using our money to build good schools for our children thereby creating better future for them.

For those saying why can't oyedepo build factories, my question is why are we waiting for him to build.

Why can't we crowd fund to build factories.

Why are we waiting for the church, government to build private enterprises.

As a human being with desires to prosper, I also believe God wants us to all prosper.

But do you know that there are scriptures against seeking the kingdom for gain/prosperity? But there's almost no single scripture that promotes the prosperity gospel?

Jesus actually said it is impossible to be rich and enter the kingdom of heaven. Luje 18:24-27

In fact the only scripture that I know supports prosperity is 3 John 1:2

Other verses from Jesus teachings and his apostles teachings seem to be against earthly prosperity.

If I'm wrong please do prove me wrong.

Half of the people wanting free education by these churches don't even attend the church.
A close friend of mine was mad when his daughter was about going to university, because he couldn't afford the tuition for covenant. It was about 750K per session or so.
He started ranting about members not able to afford it.
I asked him if he was a member, he said no.
So why are you angry Mr man?
This was a man who we laugh about never paying tithes. He has never given more than 200 naira as offering.
He didnt want any govt uni for his child because of strikes and safety issues.
I had to ask why he is angry about this? You're not a member, you don't contribute tithes either.
Why are you angry then?
His child went to another private uni which was cheaper though.
This gave me an insight on the Nigerian mentality and freebies. We all want quality for nothing.
Faith based schools abroad are some of the most expensive. Their ratings are usually amongst the top ones too, so their quality is usually good.
Their workers don't work for free either, so why the expectation of it being free or next to nothing? That will only compromise standard imo.

You nailed it. The stupidity of folks against the church is simply unfathomable. Let them continue. It hasn't achieved anything thus far. Those who came with accusations, attacks here and there have been disgraced over the years. I like the MOG's. They focus. I once saw a thread created against a particular church on NL that lasted over 12years. Can you beat that? Yet, that same church continues to make undeniable impact till date. Jesus Christ already decreed it; the gates of hell can't prevail.

1) Pastors function like CEOs

6) Numbers are primary measure of success
7) Prayer and Word study are replaced by formulas
cool Revival is reduced to a few days fund-raising

9) Preaching sounds more like motivational speech. All the people do is shout "I receive, Amen," throughout the concert. I mean the "service".
