pocohantas: I am curious, do black women also go through this? Because it seems like it is always or most times black men complaining of racism and witch-hunting. Pardon me, I feel little to no sympathy for them, given that they are at the forefront of tribal and gender discrimination in their safe zones (e.g Nigeria). Not forgetting white-worship. So maybe they can get a feel of what it feels like to be the inferior party from their revered Team-Foreign. This can only be the response from someone who came armed only with misandry to this intellectual discuss. Shallow! |
Family › Re: Is Nigeria Now Becoming The Worst Place To Raise A Child? by postmann: 9:53pm On Mar 28, 2022 |
For a fact, raising children abroad -- despite the social amenities and better economy -- is till worse than raising children in Nigeria as far as morality is concerned. They began their own moral decadence several years earlier and they've now codified it into the fabrics of their existence. We'll always play catch up.
But back to your question on how we got to this level of moral catastrophe for our children. I'll tell you the truth few people want to hear and the mainstream media knows but would never highlight -- Parental abandonment
It all started gradually in the late '70s and and early '80 when mothers joined fathers in the labour market abandoning their maternal obligation to their children while passing the ball to nannies and househelps and boarding schools. I'll stop here. |

@ OP;
Your dad not leaving a Will unfortunately paves the way for your custom to prevail in this matter
And that custom puts the most senior male child as the chief beneficiary of your late father's property even if your mother were to be alive. He is fully in charge and I'm afraid you all are at his mercy.
Your best route is to go through the elders. Look for one who is sympathetic to your plight. Who knows if they can persuade your brother to cut you guys some slack. |
Family › Re: Just After I Open A Business For My Wife, She Wants To Divorce by postmann: 6:31pm On Mar 26, 2022 |
Didi2d: Early this year my wife started doing business and to our surprise the business picked up fast, sale was good.
The Idea for the business came up last year when my sister called my wife and asked her what would she like to do, since she was just a full time house wife and all responsibility was been taken care of by me and support from my sister.
My sister made this call because of the various quarrel and misunderstanding between me and my wife almost every time. My wife is the kind of person that doesn't take advice and doesn't respect me, she fast to answer my questions with question, always ready to keep malice with me for as long as possible.
Yes, I saw all this bad attribute when we were dating, but I was forming loving and caring guy and still went ahead with the relationship. We'av been together now for 14 years now and I must say here that it has been hell for me, at times I almost want to beg for sex. If I start mentioning everything here, you guys won't believe.
To cut the story short, now that the shop business is going well, her attitude is worse more than before. Anytime she goes to market and when she returns if I ask her what and what she bought, she will reply violently, that I should not be asking her. That, don't I have eyes., she talks to me violently in presence of her younger once So I called her some day back, spoke to her that I don't like her attitude. That she should tell me if she wants to continue or not. After some days I call her, her reply was she didn't even remember we had any discussion. So I told her that her attitude shows she doesn't want to continue the relationship, that's where she started shouting that I should do whatever I want, I should go if I want, that she doesn't care.
N.B The funny part is if she needs anything from the shop, she will ask me to buy for her. Some days back I got back from work and immediately told me gas has finished. How of curiosity I asked why didn't she fill it, her response was (from which money) You've married her and she's your wife. It's a sealed deal as far as I'm concerned. You saw all the red flags and still forged ahead. So soldier on. But be warned : a disobedient woman will only get worse as she gets older, unless there's some divine intervention. |
Family › Re: Men Who Want Assistance In Splitting Bills Are Simply INFIDELS by postmann: 7:26pm On Mar 21, 2022 |

So many Twists and turns in your post that I found them, intriguing, amuzing, then confusing, then outright grandstanding.
Your header was a bashing, calling men who wants financial assistance from their women infidels, which is nothing but the simple truth. I thought the rest of your argument would follow similar line.
But then, you went on a numerical rampage of 50 - 50 responsibilities between the man and woman. And there at number 5 did I begin to perceive the emotional side of your argument outweighing your sense of reality and logic.
Not everything can be split evenly across board and sex and it's resulting consequences is one of them. They didn't bring equal energy and chromosomes to the table to begin with. He came with both X & Y chromosomes and you came to the party with just an X. He's not going to charge you for the extra chromosome. Neither will he be charging you for the extra work rate that got his heart racing, pumping blood at a faster than normal rate to achieve and maintain the rigidity of his shaft while injecting his seed into you. You on the other hand was only more or less a passive passenger on this love boat. He won't charge you for all that because nature forbids him to. It was all dictated by nature. Same way nature have you bear the grunt of the resulting pregnancy. If you find a 50:50 partner, you can as well ask him to pay you for the time you spent dealing with the discomfort and inconvenience that come with your menstrual flow.
Lastly, you said "provision is easy" and you'd prefer being the breadwinner over getting pregnant and giving birth and house chores Well, when a woman denounces her natural disposition as a nurturer, prospective mother and caregiver and rather prefers that which nature bequeaths to a man, then we have the psychological problem of identity crisis and gender dissatisfaction disorder. |

Politics › Re: Lagos Police Confirm Arrest Of Magodo Estate Security by postmann: 5:57pm On Jan 09, 2022 |
GhostWisperer: the governor is the number security officer of each state to start with.
Being a commissioner of police doesn't make you the owner of anywhere. He wasn't there on official duty. He was there to- use his fancy lying words- meet a "strategic partner" but we all know he's there for a social visit or party and at that point the normal checking-in should be observed.
Africans just love the power that comes with an office but not the responsibility and sacrifice.
I remember then, one would pay for a front seat in public transportation company from Port Harcourt to Lagos or Warri and a police man in uniform is a passenger as well will insist on having the front seat.
Same police will stop a private or commercial vehicles then and arrogantly demanded to be lifted along the road.
Yea with the uniform you can do no wrong Yeah, it was barely a month ago, along Benin-Agbor express, when one soldier stopped me, I've passed their checkpoint by a few yards, and have hit the acceleration pedal. Only for this barely-literate and ill-trained soldier to horridly stop me. I slowed down to a stop to hear what the Buffon from the barracks had to say. He wanted me to lift someone. It was a pointblank refusal. You could see the shock and disappointment and anger on his face. Cursed souls. |

“I have a problem with people from South-East; they said they wanted another state, as each of the geopolitical zones has six states.
“I said go and look at the map and see how many of the existing states will contribute to other states. “That was the last I heard from them” on the matter, the President said.

ivolt: Another illiterate. The governor's authority and power are clearly limited by the constitution. Lagosians obviously don't want a tout as governor.
Wike would have been disgraced in similar situations if he tries to exert a power he doesn't have against lawful police action. Since it was a supreme court order, the Lagos Governor should have known better than to try his luck thinking the police CSP is naive. It was very lawless and low of Mr Sanwo who knows the CSP was there on order of the supreme court. He disgraced himself and his office. |

Since he has chosen to accept his son the way his son said he is,who are you to tell him "responsible fathers would have disowned him"? Put your house in order first. Who knows how your children behave sef? Maybe worse than a crossdresser [/s] There are levels of evil that one must speak up against. Minding your business as you propose is just another way of exhibiting your moral decadence. |
Politics › Re: Detained Security Guards, Widow Didn’t Deny CP Entry,Lagos Estate Tackles Police by postmann: 12:26pm On Jan 04, 2022 |
DelTel: No estate is a privately owned property
To start with, a) govt owns all land, b) govt using tax payers money provides some amenities, road, etc, c) police and any other govt agencies should have unhindered access to any where in a society in the course of their duty, for instance, building inspection, environment, etc, talkless the police
An estate claiming privacy is what led to people like Evans getting away with criminality for so long (interestingly in the same Magodo Estate) and the same Magodo harbours the largest number of yahooyahoo boys on the mainland!
Investigating a crime is even more important than arresting By the emboldened, if ignorance of the law is a disease, then you're chronically ill! |
Politics › Re: Detained Security Guards, Widow Didn’t Deny CP Entry,Lagos Estate Tackles Police by postmann: 12:17pm On Jan 04, 2022 |
festacman: If DSS has court-issued warrant and was stopped from making arrest, a criminal offence has been committed. Out of point. You're clever in your analysis but not clever enough to conceal your ill-taste bias. The commissioner of police like any policeman is no different from the average citizen. If the estate has a protocol and security in place that governs entry, the police, except on official duty (with the issuance of a warrant) must adhere to the estate protocols. The only grounds that the CP can hide under to cover his power-drunk and shameful actions is to claim the estate is a public space. It's not! Very few individuals have the mental discipline and intellectual maturity not to abuse power. And with statements like yours, it's hard to see laws created that really curtail the abuses of law enforcement agencies and those in government. |

I have to come back sometimes with ₦400 and ₦50k worth of insults from drivers, and generational curses from cyclists who I often double-cross to sell my gala?
Do you see how rich I am to be worried about how others like me? Your job, your livelihood no doubt but, don't take what I'm about to type personal. Only a hopeless government would have you guys littering the road, peering into people's car windows, invading their privacy, Sticking your products on their windscreen, being inbetween cars, hitting/denting their side mirrors and being insulting when cautioned by a driver.
