The way these children are treated is worse than what played out in Gambia. We need the intervention of AU, ECOWAS, UN and even the new POTUS @Trump over this issue. The so called northern elite are feeding fat on it and as a result will not openly condemn nor ban it. If there is anything good about the practice, how come the rich in the north don't give out their own children? South east West and South south should do something about this menace otherwise Nigeria will not move forward

Whatever these clergymen paid cannot be regarded as school fees when compared to what their own schools charge today. I attended a Methodist secondary school and up till today I still wonder if what I paid was school fee. Imaging paying N45 as fee. Without the missionary schools in those days so many of them wouldn't be educated today. But today without public universities some people won't have tertiary education.
The Church is supposed to be the salt of the world and so comparing men of God with public servants and politicians is like comparing apples and oranges.

Oyedepo attended Anglican Primary School also a missionary school.

Bros do you know that most of these GOs benefited from missionary schools or scholarships even when those missionaries barely managed to stay alive far away from their countries of origin. No matter what the churches contribute to society, it can never be enough. Asking what the govt has done is not a sound argument; the church is supposed to lead by example as the salt of the world and not the other way round.

Very soon people who trade in stalls in some markets around town will stop traveling 'home' during festivities, especially Xmas. This govt usually sees the period of mass exodus for Xmas as the time to destroy shops and markets. This same thing happened in the first week of last year at Oshodi (under bridge) market.
Nothing is wrong with development, but the govt should stop destroying markets when people are away; do it while they are around. Is the govt afraid of market men and women? The govt is sending negative vibes robbing it of credibility and making it look oppressive if it cannot face ordinary market men and women and exercise state power. It's like stabbing someone in the back, giving the impression of that these acts are not 'best intentioned'.
It is normal for govt to take over any part of its territory for public purposes while at the same time it cushions the effect of such takeover (compensation). or is the issue of compensation the problem?
