Business / 3 Mistakes That Keep Beginner Consultants And Coaches From Making Good Money by PowerIdeas(m): 9:01am On Jul 31, 2013
Now I know the term good money is different for everybody but for the sake of this post, let all just agree that good money refers to a healthy six figure consistent monthly income.

Over the years as I worked with my clients I’ve discovered three key mistakes entrepreneurs just starting out as coaches, consultants or trainers in Nigeria make that consistently hinders them from reaching their full potential as highly paid experts in their fields.

Mistake #1: Focusing on content and not results

Your clients don’t care about coaching, consulting or training.

The only things they care about are solutions to THEIR problems.

Unfortunately most beginner coaches and consultants forget this and seem to think that the more information they share the more, the happier the client will be.

But nothing could be further from the truth.

Clients don’t want more information.

They only want results.

The only way to prove to them that you can deliver the results they want is to share with them a step by step system that delivers that result.

That’s why it’s very important to create a Distinctive Solution System and use that as the basis for building your business.

People today are overwhelmed by information.

There’s simply not enough time to sift through the data to find that one nugget of information that make a difference in the quality of their lives.

That’s where you come in.

Your distinctive solution system is information distilled and filtered through the lens of your experience and perspective and presented to your client through a step by step process that solves a very specific problem that your clients want solved.

Focusing on providing a Distinctive Solution System to your clients and not just a barrage of information is what positions you as a trusted advisor and leading expert in your field.

Mistake #2: Focusing on transactions and not relationships

The real money in this business is not in the amount of training, coaching or consulting products and services that you sell.

It’s in the quality of relationships that you build with your market.

Fall in love with your clients (I mean keep it professional people! No hanky panky!) and not with your products and services.

Most people don’t like being sold to.

But virtually everybody loves to buy stuff that solves one problem or the other for them.

When times are hard and things are tough, the only things that clients want are solutions that will help them eliminate their dangers, capture their opportunities and reinforce their strengths.

The only way that you can provide value at this level is within the context of a relationship.

Multiply the quality o the relationship your have with your market and you multiply your income, influence and impact in the market place.

Like Dan Sullivan once said:

The old saying goes, “Time equals money,”but this is not true. Time has never written you a single check. Rather, relationships equal money. All the checks you’ve received and all the new opportunities you’ve been offered have been because of the relationships you’ve developed.

Mistake # 3: Pushing promotions instead of guiding conversations

One of the things I learned pretty quickly about this business was the fact that conversations lead to clients and cash flow.

The quality and frequency of conversations that you have will determine your business results.

Most beginning coaches, consultants or trainers in Nigeria when they start of, concentrate on sending as many proposals as possible.

Pretty soon they find out that they are wasting their resources.

At this point they do either one of two things:

First they realize their strategy is wrong and try something else…another form of promotion.

Or second they keep right on banging their heads on the wall in the hope that some day some how things will change.

If instead of focusing on just promoting stuff to the market place we focused on just two things

1. Listening to the market to find out what they want
2. Educating them to see how our offering would solve their problems

We would see a whole different quality of results.

So there you have it. The three mistakes beginning coaches, consultants and trainers make.

I think network marketing is a cool way to make money.

The problem is the unprofessional way most people go about it.

I personally think that the sooner network marketers start leading with good information and delivering more value than just the flash of a check the sooner people will start taking us seriously.

Romance / Re: . by PowerIdeas(m): 11:31am On Mar 29, 2011
I don't think you have a very strange problem.

What you're experiencing is common to a lot of people, male and female.

Over the years I think you like a lot of people have learnt to associate more pleasure to the trill of the "chase" and a certain amount of pain to maintaining a relationship.

The big question I think you should ask yourself is: What do you really want?

Be completely honest with your self, do you really truly want to settle down?

One thing I do know for a fact is that when your current lifestyle gives you enough pain you will switch without being told, no motivation or instruction needed.

For now, enjoy!
Career / Re: How Can I Be A Good Public Speaker? by PowerIdeas(m): 10:46am On Mar 29, 2011
Hi there!

Your question is abit confusing, so to clarify I'll ask this:

Do you want to be good at speaking to groups of people or are you interested in earning money as a result of making presentations to various groups of people?

If your preference is to just get good at speaking and making presentations to groups of people them here's what you need to do:

1. Get a few books on presentation skills
2. Read them and just go out and speak to as many groups as you can while applying what you learn from the books.
3. Get a coach, some to work with in refining your skills

If on the other hand you are interested in building a career out of public speaking, that's a whole other ball game, but to get you started here's an article on How to Think like a highly paid expert. Go to this blog to find it: www.victorbassey.com

Sorry about the bad experience!

The truth is that people do make money using the internet in nigeria, unfortunately many people also use it as an avenue to scam people.

Just keep in mind that the internet is not another universe but a tool for business just like your phone.

Romance / Re: Ladies! What's The Number One Thing You Want To Know About Men? by PowerIdeas(m): 3:02pm On Jul 20, 2010
NIGER WOMEN DON'T UNDERSTAND ME U TELL your LADY THAT U SOME FINANCIAL PROBLEM, INSTEAD OF FINDING A WAY TO SOLVE IT SHE ADD TO IT MORE, E.I SHE WILL TELL U AFTER SOME MINTS THAT SHE HAVE TO FIX HER NAILS AND HAIR, MAYBE IF U CAN HELP WITH SMALL CASH, THAT JUST ONE OF IT

Ladies!

Sometimes the biggest problems you will face in your relationships with men will come as a result of not learning to listen.

Listening to a man and making the effort to show that you are listening to him helps you build trust and the truth of the matter is that if your man trusts you, you more or less have his heart. If you have his heart, trust me when I say you will have his pocket too. There's absolutely nothing a man wouldn't do for a woman he truly loves and adores, even if he has to endure a little hardship, he'll do it with a smile because he knows it's for you.

The sad thing about trust though is that once it's lost it's hard to regain.

So for all you ladies having "man troubles", here's a simple way to gain trust from your man over time:

Give him something his other girlfriends probably will not: THE RIGHT TO BE HIMSELF. HELP HIM FEEL SO COMFORTABLE WITH YOU THAT HE CAN SHARE HIS MOST SHAMEFUL SECRETS WITH YOU WITHOUT FEAR.

If you can do this, your man will be eating out of your hands pronto!!

Pweety Girl are you NUTS!!!!

What kind of relationship are you trying to build! If you want to try a party, be my guest but be sure you will throw away any chance at a meaningful realationship with you certified mad man BF.

Everything in life comes with a price, if you truely luv this guy don't even think of a party with him.
Romance / Re: I Want To Marry Him by PowerIdeas(m): 2:23pm On Jul 19, 2010
Ngorluv, Don't even think of marrying him if he doesn't have at least a source of income no matter how small.

If you do you will be building your marriage on a very shaky foundation. Give your man the opportunity to be a man or he will silently resent you for it. If you really want to help give him time and be patient.

If you can't wait, baby girl let him know your position and let him steer the relationship from there. BUT PLEASE, let him be the man.
Romance / Re: Ladies! What's The Number One Thing You Want To Know About Men? by PowerIdeas(m): 1:45pm On Jul 19, 2010
Thanks for your post Naija sisi,

The only time a man finds it difficult to share his thoughts with you is if he feels he can't trust you with what's going on in his mind.

If that's the case the best way to handle the situation is no stress him about it!

Accept the situation for what it is and then privately work towards gaining his trust without stressing him about it. The truth is if he cares about you, it's ripping him apart not to be able to share with you.

Business To Business / Re: Being An Entrepreneur In Nigeria by PowerIdeas(m): 10:53am On Apr 23, 2009
Personally I think there's a lot of possibilities in entreprenuership and YES it is possibe to make that amount of money monthly depending
ofcourse on the business that you choose to do.

Generally I think most times we have it completely wrong when we think that the only way to make lots of money is with lots of staff and a ton of capital, there are deals that can make you alot of cash without that much stress legally you just have to start looking around and start where you are.
Career / Re: Building A Career As A Professional Speaker In Nigeria. by PowerIdeas(m): 10:46am On Apr 23, 2009
Hello there Every One!

In November of 2001 as I prepared to round up my one year stint with the National Youth Service Corps, I had the good fortune to be
invited to a seminar by the famous Nigerian motivational speaker – Sam Adeyemi.

I say good fortune not because he told me anything I’d never heard before from my pastor, Rev. Tunde Joda, but because I later
discovered that he pocketed N100, 000 for the one hour presentation he gave. There and then I decided that speaking was the business
for me.

So I started asking around for information on how to get into public speaking and earn the fees that Sam Adeyemi commanded. I bought public
speaking books, attended seminars and workshops on presentation skills, facilitation skills, personal branding for speakers, and a host of other titles. Sadly I couldn’t find any resource in particular that could effectively answer the one question that burned on the inside of me – How do I
build a speaking business that earned me at least a million naira a year on a part time basis.

Most of the so called experts that I consulted with gave me the same age worn advice I’d heard so many times before: just speak as often as
you can and gradually as time goes on people will start knowing you and valuing you enough to want to pay for your talks.

What a load of crap!

The sad thing is I actually paid for the crappy advice and felt back then that I’d got my money’s worth!

What if you had a beautiful but demanding wife and four kids to feed and speaking for a living was the only opportunity you had – would you
follow that advice?

I don’t think so!

It took me three years to crack the code but I finally did.

Today I earn far more than a million a year on a part time basis from my speaking business. I’ve traveled to beautiful places I never even
knew existed, slept in more hotels than I care to count, developed relationships that have proved useful in many areas of my life.

Currently I'm working on a free report that will be available to anyone interested in learning the system that i use.

I’m not going to teach you how to write a speech, or hold your audience spell bound there a thousand and one books out there that do
that quite effectively.

What I’m going to do is give you something you’ll be hard pressed to find for free in this country and that is teach you the business of speaking
and how to effectively sell your ideas, training concepts, knowledge and  expertise in literally any city in Nigeria

I believe this report will change the way you approach your speaking career. I hope it will give you a much bigger vision of what’s available to you as an expert in your field.

In the interim, please send an email to primediacommunications@gmail.com if you are interested and I'll forward the report to you once I'm done.

I look forward to hearing from you.
