Politics › Re: Fire Outbreak Disrupts Christmas Celebration At Hotel In Abule-Egba, Lagos by ppogba: 10:13am On Dec 26, 2025 |
Eriokanmi: My cousin called me on Christmas eve that a prophesy came during their programme on the mountain that they should inform all their relations, home and abroad to be wary of fire this season. In less than 24hrs, we started hearing of fire disaster news here and there, despite the constant rainfall experienced in Lagos and other places, even across the borders. God, please have mercy on us Anyone can prophesy that. It is only logical that activities relating to igniting fire for one reason or the other will be on the rise. I doubt if we have as many fire incidences in better societies at this same time. Prophesying that there will be road crashes around November and December falls in this same category. We should de-emphasise this idea of prophesies. Na every body fit see. It depends on how you put your inner gift to use. |

It's how u guys gloat all over the Internet about improved power supply during the rainy season but run back into your shells when that season is over and we start seeing the real NEPA. If you belong in the group I mentioned RIP and condolences to your family. |

This is the same man, Nigerians want to hand over the whole energy sector(petrol) of the country to ? A man that's so easily offended and vindictive to go after people that share a contrary opinion to his. A man who does not see eye to eye with anyone who dares to hold him accountable or try to correct him on any issue. You can tell this man was made to read that apology under duress, he even sounds like someone, who is afraid for his life. The fools that will like your comment went to bed early yesterday. No worry. Visa Oluwole (Fake Passports) Agberos, Ijebu Ode Agberos... As a matter of fact where does the word Agbero come from if not of Yoruba Origin... So you see it starts from Home... Just speaking the truth as a concerned and straight forward Yoruba/ River's indigenous person... Who cares about your fucking origin? If you like , you can be Ebira and Efik combined. You have done well though showing your knowledge of the SW. That is what being an Okada rider can do to your CV. Why not ask the disgraced Minister who was sent packing not long ago whether he got the Certificate from Oluwole? All your epistles does not erase the fact that the Agberos in the EAST are vicious and brutal. Some of us can do the geography of your region too. |

Villa has better game management cos I'm sure if united were 2-1 up, they'd have conceded. United also needs to buy enough players to increase squad depth and promote competition Sentiment apart, Mainoo CAN NOT bench any of Bruno, Cunha or Casemiro in any midfield. position. Forget about his entitlement mentality and the usual British press of over hyping their home grown. to pressure managers into fielding them. Maino. will not get near. the starting 15 of City, Arsenal and. even Liverpool. |

Politics › Re: We Bought Our Lagos House For N100 In 1979 – 80-Year-Old Janet Brai by ppogba: 6:32pm On Dec 21, 2025 |
AlphaTaikun: @ppogha
I just read the full article again. So the place she is referencing is Satellite Town back in 1979 and the houses were sold in "LOTS" cheaper than the average cost of houses at that time, so, she definitely isn't telling LIES. By 1982, austerity measures had started setting in (due to the economic contagion of United States' increase in interest rates which affected the global economy and caused many countries to default in paying their loans back to the foreign creditors) when I purchased one of the best tasting N20 suya which myself and my buddy couldn't even finish. So, I don't blame you or anyone for suspecting or doubting the credibility of her initial story.
Read more insights right BELOW:
Key Context from 1979 Government Scheme: The Satellite Town project was initiated by the Federal Military Government in 1976 as an affordable housing scheme to help low-to-middle-income Nigerians, particularly civil servants and employees of large companies, own homes. Payment Structure: Staff of participating companies were expected to contribute a maximum of 20% of their gross annual income towards the cost of the building units, with the government covering a significant portion of the cost (47%).
Intentionally Low Cost: The houses were designed to be inexpensive, reflecting a period when the government was actively intervening in the housing sector to provide affordable options. One anecdotal report from that time mentioned a house being purchased for as little as N100 in 1979, although this may have been under a specific, highly subsidized arrangement. I agree with you especially since it is at Satellite Town and most probably at govt discount. But you know, some of us that already know out left from right then will not be commiting an offence by initially doubting the veracity. |
