If you knew how the table looked like prior to the point deductions from Mokoena and the Eritrea situation, you would be stupified at the possibility of even smelling a playoff spot.
Heck, take a look at the 2nd place table on Google which doesn't account for the Eritrea point removals. Now take in how we were able to score 4 unreplied goals against a Beninoise team that had all the momentum and a chance to qualify.
This is truly a miracle. |

9JAMac10: Nigeria vs Gabon. We beat Gabon 2-0 then face off against Cameroon we beat them 3-2 extra time. Playoffs will be exhilarating and exciting. Can’t wait I see DR Congo beating Cameroon |

Let's take this one game at a time. Get through Gabon first and then worry about DRC, Cameroon and the interconfederation tournament in March |

Let's hope that both Congo DRC and Senegal win. I DO NOT want to face a nationalistic Burkina Faso. They will die on the field for Traore |

Benin Republic looks pretty resigned from the match. If we score one more in the early 2nd half, that should open them up. |

With a Bafana victory on the horizon, our only hope is with Sudan and securing a playoff berth. We'll see of Rwanada responds but doubtful |

JohnBullMySon: Una sha dey underrate Benin. This game will be our hardest. It will be harder than SA.
Goodluck to Naija. I hope we qualify although I don't think we will. As for me my own na to enjoy the crazy thrilling end of this dramatic qualifier.
NGA vs BEN on my TV and RSA vs RWD on my laptop. I go dey watch two of them at the same time This is honestly a healthy outlook. We can't control what Rwanda does but we can finish this qualifiers on a decent showing. Chelle did his best with the hand he was dealt. After all is said and done, there needs to be a post mortem of the NFF. |

JohnBullMySon: Can anyone explain why we can no longer qualify to second round?
This thing dey confuse me oh This is Wikipedia where anyone can make edits. I presume someone made a quick judgement without considering all the permutations and calculations tomorrow cause we can still qualify based on he we fare and how the DRC result pans out. |

EEGA: To keep a clean sheet tomorrow, Onyeka starts alongside Iwobi.Ndidi drops to the bench.
Chiemela starts in the heart of defence alongside Bassey cos of the fast beninoise attack.
Akor starts in a 2-man attack alongside Osimhen cos of his trickery in the final third.
Simon and Lookman completes the attack in a diamond formation.
Bright who got the assist for our equalizer against SA starts at RB.
Skiing is no longer fast and Gernot Rohr will look to exploit this weakness.
Go!Go!!Go!!! Super Eagles. I belive Lookman has accumulated too many yellows to play |

CapitalCee: Private individual forsaw this Play offs loophole, but our technicall team at NFF were not even aware. If you watch the Burkina match, you coould see that they have read the table and understood that they needed goals. But our own we were just jonsing against Rwanda and Lesotho. People wey we suppose thump at least 3-0 each. Same thing happened with the double yellow card issue, the team technical crew were not even aware, until private individual fans noticed it. Honestly if we want pur football to move forward, we need to protest in the NFF office and chase away all those guys at NFF they have killed Nigeriam football completely This thread is the only reason the Eagles have an iota of a chance at qualifying or staying alive. These NFF guys are clueless and don't give a rat's @$$ |

PLEASE NOTE: The point deductions ONLY take effect in the placement of the 2nd place teams. Given that we drew against Zimbabwe twice, we go in that group with 12 points. A win against Benin then puts us 15 points. |
