I think their national team prefer those with Caribbean backgrounds, till date only only Welbeck and Alli with 42 and 37 caps respectively have the highest caps for those of African origin. Majority of the Nigerians in their side had less than 10 caps

You read my mind. It's weird given the copius amount of Nigerians in the English football system, none have had prolific tenures with the three lions. Instead, Black carribeans have fared better with them.

Just an observation.

Good revenue generation opportunity for Lagos. Thanks for the wise choice of location. I was worried about the insecured state of our nation.

As long as it's in the South, it ought to be fine

Nantes hang on by a thread and win on away goals. Moses Simon will remain in Ligue 1.

Moses Simon's Nantes currently tied with Toulouse. Only thing keeping Nantes alive is an away goal.

Moises Kean has failed to make Italy's squad for the Euros tournament

Ireland have called up Andrew Omobamidele of Norwich City

Germany, Switzerland, England, Italy, France, Austria, Wales and now Ireland.

You'll be hard pressed to not find a drop of Nigerian blood in a European national team nowadays.

Special congratulations to Thiago Silva on his 1st ever Champions League medal. It took a long while but it has finally come.

I doff my hat to Chelsea's backline. Masterclass performance right there

Does this mean De Bruyne will be out of Euros? This is so unfortunate...

Was there ever anyone who ever doubt Kanté of being world class ?

I don’t think so

Nah, I'm just heaping praise that's all

Danish Boldspil-Union (DBU) have planned to hold talks
with Philip Billing about his international future.
The Bournemouth midfielder is frustrated that he has
been left out of Denmark's finalized roster for the 2020
European Championship and to make matters worse his
name has not been included on the standby list.
Billing's omission from the roster has made him consider
playing for Nigeria, where he has roots through his
father.
DBU's football director Peter Møller revealed on
Thursday that the Federation have tried to get in touch
with the former Huddersfield Town star.
"In relation to Philip Billing, I have no comments until
we have spoken to him," Møller said to BT .
"We would like to hear his version, rather than reading it
through you, for example. We have reached out to him,
but we have not yet got hold of him".
Møller went on to reveal that the door is open for Billing
to represent Denmark in the future but it's up to the
Danish-Nigerian player to decide whether he wants to
play for the Super Eagles or The Red and White.
He added : "Kasper Hjulmand has previously selected
him and given him his debut. He was also selected in
March, where he unfortunately had to withdraw (due to
an injury, ed.).
"There is only one national coach, and that is Kasper
Hjulmand. He has selected those he has assessed as
sporting best.
"In the end, it's entirely up to the players where the heart
lies. We have had Billing on both the A national team
and the U21 national team before, and we would like to
have him with us in the future, but we would like to talk
to him ourselves first".
The 24-year-old Billing has one senior cap for Denmark -
a friendly against Faroe Islands - hence he is qualified
to apply for a change of association.

We don't need this kind of immaturity in our team. Instead of bitching to the media, he needs to go face to face with the Danish FA like a man and voice his complaints.

Would you consider our rivalry with Ghana dead? It has been a decade since we last had a match with them.

Bournemouth star Philip Billing is considering switching his international allegiance to Nigeria after he was omitted from Denmark's 26-man roster for the upcoming European Championship.

Manager Kasper Hjulmand has named seven midfielders in the squad list, picking Christian Eriksen (Inter Milan), Thomas Delaney (Borussia Dortmund), Pierre-Emile Højbjerg (Tottenham), Daniel Wass (Valencia), Mathias Jensen (Brentford), Anders Christiansen (Malmo) and Christian Nørgaard (Brentford) ahead of Billing.

Billing has played only one match for Denmark's senior team, a friendly against Faroe Islands in October 2020 when he was in action for 72 minutes and before then made thirteen appearances combined for Denmark U19 and U21 teams.

The 24-year-old central midfielder , who is a player of interest to Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr, previously stated that it will be strange to represent Nigeria as he feels one hundred percent Danish but is now reconsidering the decision.

Speaking to BT, Billing explained : "My father is from Nigeria, so I have thought about it, and I know that Nigeria would very much like me

"I have talked to the coach several times, so it is something I have thought about more after I have not been selected for the European Championships.

"There will also soon be a World Cup that I will have to think about. I am almost 25 years old and I have only played one international match. I also have something I would like to achieve in my career."

Billing impressed for Bournemouth in the 2020-2021 campaign, scoring eight goals and providing four assists in 34 appearances in the Championship.
