That guy is a professor from Ibadan. I use his text book for study. And I don't think he could consciously make such a mistake. Perhaps the guy who typed the question to P0lymath made the error when typing.

The application is this; play the sus chord of the key you are going before or after playing the key.
E.g when going for C to G play G A D or G C D before or after playing G B D, truss me bro. It's soo sweet.

@gameboi it seems what you just wrote applies to any key of a scale. So when moving to any key at all one can play the very key before it as a diminshed7 and the key after it as a minor or major if the key is minor, right?

@proton you might also want to try out sus chords as in sus2 and sus4, they are just too sweet.

You're referring to passing chords.
There are different ways of moving to the fourth of anykey. I'll just give a li'le recap.
In moving to the fourth:
+ Play a 3dim7 chord.
An instance is when moving to the F from any note on key C, you can play Edim7( E G Bb D) before moving to Fmaj(F A C )
+ use circle of fourths.
Before moving to F note on key C, you can play the fourth of F. The fourth of F is Bb(I.e F G A (Bb) C D E F ). Therefore, you'll play a Bbmajor chord (Bb D F)
+ play a Vmin chord.
You could as well play the Gmin chord before moving to the F major chord.
Example. C- G- (Gmin)- F. Gmin is G Bb D.

Try them out and give me a feedback.

I'm a minorish guy when it comes to piano..its all about personality...i love things that sound wicked and sad and all...I love the feel...I no be vampire ooo...Just wanted to share a 7-3-6 progression I learnt...I'll do it on the simple key of Cmajor and it goes thus :

3- E B D// D Ab B(Edom7)
6- A E G// E A D(Amin7)

Hello....as a beginner, what you need to know is that the key to getting better is practice, keep practicing a particular bass line until u get it...you will surely get it...although u don't need to play bass lines, esp when a bass player is around...but it still helps to learn bass lines if no bass player is around... Cheers!

How do I play then when the bass player is around? Would I start my left hand on middle C and never go below it?

What mean by rhythm is something like: d m r d, r f m r, m s f m, r m r... that we all use to learn keyboard.

Bro. I dunno what to call it but this is how I play it. Whenever I'm going to F (let's say on Cmajor now) I'd play the Bb first then land on the chord of F. If it's G, I'd play the F# first before landing on the chord of G. The chord of Am takes the Ab. My question is, is there any other way I can get to F apart from going through Bb. Same question goes for G and Am and even C too.

I've been trying Bb to G (I learnt that from "I'm Trading My Sorrow", but it doesn't make lot of sense when I try applying it to other songs. And again, is there a name given to this kind of movements?
