Maka why na? Who in Nigeria has ever resigned? You want to use him to set a precedence? Allow him take his time to defend himself instead of hounding him to resign. They are making it look like they instituted all these cases against him simply to force him to resign. Na lie, e no go happen. Jail him only after you find him guilty. Lobatan.

I am told that the price of 5litre paint of garri is now N800, price of a bag of rice is N16,000 and a piece of Abuja tuber of yam goes for N1,500. Price of beans is also on the high. I can afford to buy for my family. How about my neigbours from various tribes? You can see hunger on their faces, real hunger.

And someone is here saying things have improved since this administration. For real? Lets keep deceiving ourselves, pretending to be fighting for the ordinary man on the street. I laugh in Swahili and at the same time pity those who are not opportuned. Its all the same flesh and blood, you know.

Politics / Re: Court Summons EFCC For Freezing Fayose's Account by Prales(m): 3:15pm On Jun 28, 2016
What's this one saying. Did you read the article very well?

"Efforts made by Governor Ayodele Fayose to reverse the restriction order placed on his accounts frozen by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC) in Zenith Bank Plc was temporarily halted on Tuesday as the Federal High Court sitting in Ado Ekiti, deferred ruling on the mandatory order being sought to reverse the directive".

DropShot:
This is another defeat and frustration for Fayose as the court refused to grant his prayers that EFCC be made to unfreeze his accounts and restrained permanently from freezing them in future.

Ekpas up here lack comprehension ability, hence they celebrate invitation to EFCC to defend it's actions.

Fayose cannot get off this hook. There are previous instances where accounts of sitting governors were frozen for similar offense.

It's more than unfair that you enjoy immunity from criminal and civil acts already. It will be double tragedy for victims of your criminal acts for your accounts which were used to commit the crime to enjoy same immunity.

The same way Yoruba, Igbo and other southerners are fighting here on Nairaland and other social media platform, is the same way our senators and governors fail to agree on any and everything. Exactly why the North will continue to dominate the South and get things go their way with little or no opposition.

Question is, did Mrs. Adeosun collect her own so called 'illegal' allowance? She must be probed. However, what is illegal is illegal. And being that it was not budgeted in the 2016 appropriation bill, the ministry of finance workers must be stupid to make such outrageous demands.

Politics / Re: CCT Trial: Saraki Tactically Delaying Trial Because He’s Afraid – Tribunal Judge by Prales(m): 2:55pm On Jun 07, 2016
Umar, Really! Employing tactical delay to avoid final consequences? Did he really say that? Saraki is just wasting his time defending what Umar has already decided long time ago. It's well with our judicial system.

Chairman of the Code of Conduct Tribunal, CCT, Danladi Umar on Tuesday accused the Senate President, Bukola Saraki of tactically delaying his trial.

Addressing the counsels to the Senate President at the floor of the tribunal, Umar said Saraki is delaying his trial to avoid the “final consequences.”

The Senate President is currently standing trial on a 16-count charge of false assets declaration when he was the Governor of Kwara State.

The trial has seen the first prosecution witness, Michael Wetkas spending 11 days in the witness box. This, the chairman frowned at and ordered the Senate President’s counsel to ask direct questions and avoid technicalities so as to fasttrack the trial.

He said, ”When you are asking a witness, go straight to the point. You don’t have to find your way of distorting the witness. This is delaying us. You are a senior lawyer, I don’ t want you to do that kind of tactics to delay the matter. We assure you that whatever happens, we are going to be fair,” he said.

“But it seems you are employing tactical delay to avoid final consequences.
“Don’t be afraid. I’m a gentleman.”

But reacting to Umar’s comment, Saraki’s lead counsel, Kanu Agabi admitted that the defence was afraid of the final consequences of the trial.

“We are actually afraid of the final consequences. We really are, and all that we are doing is because we are scared of the final consequences.

“Now, it is time for us to disabuse the minds of the court. Please bear with us. We are not worried about the law. We are worried about the prejudice. We are not afraid of you. I pray for you everyday that your lordship sits here for many more years,” he said.

Thanks for the huge consolation prize you've just given all zombies, i.e. if it helps you (zombies) sleep at night. Total annihilation my foot.

mohince:
If Buhari visits Ogoniland today and an attempt is made on his life, two things are bound to happen and both leads to only one end. One is to take him out using snipers or whatever and then what? The army will wipe the entire Southeast and South South off the surface of the earth. The army, Air force, Navy and all other security forces will be given a 'shoot at sight order' to keep shelling the entire region until nothing moves again, yes, nothing. The other is to make an attempt on his life and he escapes the assassination plot; either ways, the security agents will still kill everyone and everything. So, who wins?
No matter how it plays out, the northerners will immediately commence ethnic Cleansing against the Millions of southerners in the North and the Southerners will also annihilate the Few northerners in the South and a full scale war that is worse than the Biafra or bokoHaram war will begin. Every ethnic group will take up arm against the other and continue to kill one another till the whole country is littered with corpses. Then the international community will wade into the crisis in the name of quelling the fight and take our oil and lands away from us. Then another round of Colonialization will begin in full gear and the few ones that are lucky to be alive will become slaves to the West. Biafra is lost and One Nigeria is also lost. So, who wins?
Then 60 years from now, one of the few lucky survivors of the war will author a book with the title: 'There was a country' or 'Buhari's visit to Ogoniland: The beginning of the end of Nigeria'; or something like that. Again, who wins?
But after a deep thought, I told myself that Buhari was right to cancel his visit and take the Shame that comes with it. He has clearly demonstrated a rare statesmanship that is worthy of emulation. The Buhari that I know is not worried about his life; he fought in the Biafra war 49 years ago. He is a war General who has seen death on several occasions. He is only concerned about the millions of life that will be wasted because of him as well as the aftermath effect of such bloody situation on the over 170million lives of fellow Nigerians.
Thank you baba for saving our lives. You have just earned yourself the title of 'The father of a new Nigeria! Shame on you Wailers!
God bless Nigeria
God bless President Muhammadu Buhari GCFR!

I really pity southerners for their disjointed stance on matters of national concern. From the northern perspective, Osinbajo is from the south and so his people cannot harm him. That's why he's deemed fit to represent. Whether Buhari is a coward for sending his vice is a matter for another day.

I wonder what you guys read from the court proceeding that says Saraki acquired those properties illegally. If I read very well, he took a loan to purchase those properties. I would have loved to find out how he's repaying/intends repaying the loan or has he done so already, through which means?

Asides, what's the offence for not disclosing it? Does that offence include punishing him by jail term? Please leave sentiments aside when commenting.

Politics / Re: FG Proposes N120 Per Litre, Labour Leaders Kick by Prales(m): 11:26am On May 17, 2016
Omenka and company have continuously and brazenly divided Nigeria along wailers and zombies and Seun sees nothing wrong in that. Instead of preaching unity, Nairaland has become a forum for division, always tearing tribes apart, hounding people with differing opinions. Yet, we all go to the same market, buy same fuel and other things all at the prevailing market prices. Kontinue.

I understand Omenka is from Benue State. Is Benue State also among the zombies? Is it by the number of votes given to APC or by being counted amongst the 19 Northern states that makes one belong to the zombies or wailers? Or you just want your voice to be heard as an APC apologist. Kontinue.

Treat with respect all things held sacred to others whether you like it or not. Respect differing opinions even though you think them stupid and inconsequential. Statesmen are born not made. Even if you were not born a statesman, pretend and live your life like one.

Seun, its time you guys moderate this forum and convince moderate individuals that its not kids and charlatans that come to Nairaland to pour aspersions on one another.

omenka:
This isn't right.

Let me bare an unbiased opinion about this since it appears the wailers are simply too dumb to engage on in any constructive and intelligent argument- all I've been hearing are insults and "apologise to Jonathan".

No Wailer has been able to ask one a very IMPORTANT question regarding one VERY OBVIOUS ANOMALY surrounding this whole "subsidy removal/deregulation" stuff, and that question is: if the government had earlier claimed that they subsidise petrol by about N17 per litre, then why on earth isn't fuel selling for approximately N103 per litre ( ie 86+17) as against N145 or the N120 allegedly being proposed now??

Wailers, make una try get small sense so una go fit put us, and perhaps, the government, on our toes. Throwing insults around and getting tens of likes wouldn't get you lot anywhere.

Government needs to tell us why it is 145 and not 103.

I wish we could just allow the court of law to pronounce Saraki guilty before crying 'crucify him! crucify him!! crucify him!!!' There's really no difference between us and the people who crucified Christ. All these hogwash about his trial makes one even forget his offence in the first place.
