Rapujoshua: Please I need your assistance. A friend visa was refusal on this ground.
This are the documents he uploaded and they are letterhead and signed by the institution as well -Letter of Introduction from Institution -Letter of Appointment As clerical Staff -Redesignation letter as Lecturer -Affidavit of Return -statement of purpose Please your advice But why will a lecturer need affidavit of return as prove to leave Canada at the end of visit..if the documentations provided can prove it... What educational qualifications did the person submitted that qualifies this person as a lecturer.. Seems some information is missing in the letter of introduction like purpose of visit.. And there is no verifiable evidence of monthly salary from the institution that provided letter of introduction . This application lacks credibility according to the VO...it is like saying Hey 👋 you used misrepresentation but we don't have concrete evidence to prove it, Beyond reasonable doubt.. Next application will be Tough for this person.. |

Aboffine: Hello Everyone.
Please, I need your help with this.
I'm currently in school in Canada and my husband who is in Nigeria wants to apply for spousal work permit. I was wondering if I have to apply for him or he should apply by himself. I need to extend my study permit next month, can we apply together? You can apply together and on his behalf using your own mycic account he will need to sign the use of representative form..you as his representative.. |

IredeJ: Hi, please I have a similar question;
I got a refusal letter last week Wednesday from IRCC for my study permit saying; You have not provided a valid Letter of Acceptance from the designated learning institution in Canada at which you wish to study'.
I reached out to my College, and they are as confused as I am because that is the letter that their students have always used in their study permit applications.
How do I go about my re-application?
I intend to reapply quickly because session starts on the 8th of January, 2024. I will appreciate any insights, guys! Thank you so much. Your case may different, but this may be reason of refusals applicants may be hearing from IRCC soon if care is not taken ... Two weeks from now or from December 1 2023 DLI will be required to confirm LOA...The portal to verify letter of acceptance has been provided by IRCC https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/study-canada/educational-institutions/loa-verification.html |

But the truth is, it's better we tell those coming the reality, to get a job here now ma war, so if you can face the struggle pls try n hold funds when coming and still have access to funds in. NIGERIA. I have been in GTA for 4 months on a student visa still never get a job. I have spent upto 3kcad and I don't even pay rent where I'm living. Thinktwicethinkcanada. This is though with study permit more immigrants are already in the country with open work permits including those from Ukraine due to war and more other immigrants are coming in with Permanent residence through EE and PNP, most of.. will land on menial job First! when they arrive. No work yet on top of the policy that allows study permit holders to work full time.. is ending 31 December 2023 while one reputable company are making study permit holders aware of this others may follow suit.... |

Ethanuella: Hello guys, I’m in a dilemma
In May this year, I applied for a visit visa through an agent. I got to find out through my BIL that he used an address in Abuja, while I stay in Ibadan, and provided him with my real address in Ibadan during the application.
I have asked him to give me the login details so I can access the application, or better still, give me details regarding my application, he didn’t. Up till now, he says there’s no update on my application yet.
In September, I got admission and used the UCI in my BIL to start my study permit application, and this time, I used my real address in Ibadan. I submitted yesterday.
I’m scared this might be tagged misrepresentation, considering the fact that both applications are pending. I asked him to withdraw the visitors visa application but he is not cooperating. Withdrawal of application does not stop IRCC from checking if misrepresentation is used in the application..I wonder how address or address that can change at any moment be seen misrepresentation.. |

kc6964: Well , even people with large opening balances have been denied despite having good account statements for one year. The key factor is how well the person can justify the funds in their account. Even if they have a good opening balance and a substantial amount in their account for closing,if they can't explain the funds, it's likely considered insufficient. This applies to everyone. Also, have you ever come across a case where someone was denied due to a low opening balance? Probably note from GCMS NOTE stated A good opening balance helps in visa application, although application can also be refused based on reasons concerned to the VO... On my visa application as sponsor for study permit and SOWP which was approved, I provided 5 pages of 6 months Bank statements but @ the opening balance on bank statements i already had the funds available for Tuition and maintenance while funds keeps increasing from the opening balance to closing balance while avoiding lump sum.. they will also check credit vs debit transactions...bank account statements should also have atleast some verifiable source of funds ..I didn't do any source of funds explanation than to only provide business documents... |

Adeiyanu3: You can not be totally right bro.
Ones ability to explain ties and POF is the major thing, the major reason for the request of your personal account is to know if it is operational or not. I know of a primary applicant who has just #502k in his account while other monies is in the sponsor's account, and his VISA was approved. You actually need a detailed SOP and God by your side. 502k is even big sef compared to someone who got visa approved with 200k in personal salary bank account and monthly salary of 28k to 30k per month which appears in bank statements, this depends on circumstances.. |

Maturemindz: I’d like to ask what could be the chances of getting PPR for my wife that want to go to canada as a student and just found out she’s pregnant now Although we intend traveling together, as we are already a family of 4.. admission gotten, 1st semester school fee had been paid, planning to submit the application November ending, for Jan intake, I need someone to analyst what’s should be expected for me… I need help in this regards Pregnancy has no effect on visa approvals.. You are submitting application November ending for January intake for family of 4..seems late application for January intake.. There is probability that IRCC will not finish review of the application by January..and you may defer admission for later In take.. Considering your wife will deliver by july 2024..she has to be in Canada before delivery, otherwise you will be making another application to add the infant am sure she will not be ready to leave the infant and travel to canada.. Going to school in Canada with infant on board will be another ball game to the student... If she ends up having the baby in canada make sure you come with loads of cash and she has health coverage from the university or college, having baby in canada is expensive normal delivery can cost upto 3000 to 5000 canadian dollars, for Cesarean-section will cost upto 12000 canadian dollars and all the bills will be directed to the mum!! Don't opt for visit visa it won't make things easy for you.. |

Earlier, when the PPR was not forthcoming and it got to the last day of enrolment, they deferred their admission. Now that the initial upfront medical has expired. Even though they have their counter foil, they have just gone for a fresh medical and don’t know what steps to take. 1. Will Airline allow them to travel? 2. How will IRCC know about the new medical status as they don’t have any open Visa applications? 3. How will they( applicant) know the outcome of the new medical? 4. How can they confirm if IRCC has even received or tracked that new medical? 5. Has anyone been in a similar situation? how did you go about it Please Am not sure if airlines will stop them from travelling..due to medical expired!! If they have done medicals again send it to ircc through webform.. They can go to the portal they used for visa application to check if counterfoil is still valid..If it is no longer valid due to medical examination they have to wait until ircc re-activates it..that is after they have received new medical examination. |

tajuowo: if you are coming to thunder bay from Nigeria be aware. those stories of 'plenty jobs for international students' are lies. you will spend a minimum of $800 - $1000 a month on a room (just a room). your tuition is minimum of $8600 per semester & for Masters students you pay every semester, there are no breaks in the year. this applies to most universities in Canada. also there are barely part time jobs for students, be ready to get money from back home every month. your sim card bill is min $50 per month (lowest offer so far). you will be bombarded with excess school work, thus be aware. buy your winter jackets & boots before you arrive, its less expensive back home. Nigerian students don't forget to buy international travel adaptor in Nigeria. over here its $35, in Nigeria you can get it for $5. certain android phones don't work with their sim cards over here. as i remember more tips i will post. Yes ...all China phones made for Nigeria does not work in Canada..including infinix any type, itel or tecno they are all useless including for roaming or local call, you may carry dem only for your bank app or WhatsApp. original Samsung android phones or even original Motorola phones works here in Canada... Hair clippers bought from nigeria will be useless here...cos current in nigeria is 220-240 volts while canada is 120volts.. Uk/nigeria to canada adaptor is about 9.99 dollars in amazon.canada + shipping upto 17dollars.. |

alexsim: Greetings good people of Nairaland!
I am currently pursuing my studies in Canada, having commenced in the fall of 2023. It has been just under a month since I started my academic journey here. My study permit is valid for two years and includes a co-op program. During the application process, I found myself in a situation where I became pregnant, and it is almost 7 months old. The workload at school has become quite overwhelming, and I often find myself exhausted upon returning home from numerous classes and with so much assignments to deal with. Unfortunately, there is no available assistance for me.
Given these circumstances, I am interested in having my husband and our two-year-old daughter join me in Canada. I am seeking your advice on which type of visa would be the most suitable for them to apply for: a visitor visa or a Spouse Open Work Permit (SOWP)? While the SOWP option is a concrete plan, I want to explore all available options to ensure the best course of action for our situation.
I would greatly appreciate your insights and guidance on this matter. Thank you in advance for your assistance. Better apply for SOWP straight away so that he can work in Canada..I know one lady my wife's friend that brought hubby with SOWP before she delivered, infact hubby arrived one day after she gave birth.. Taking care of babies in canada needs time and money..I have two babies in canada same age,i was doing morning shift previously ,school resumed in September,I have to switch from morning to afternoon shift work hours so that wife can go to school in the morning time. I spent 72 dollars a week on baby formula, that is for the best formula..I was lucky to meet white Canadian here who donated baby clothes bed, pampers, wipes and some organisations which donates to new babies including a Nigerian family we met here that helped also..if not that ..the the expenses would have been huge. I hope you have private health insurance for students from the school, the hospital bills can be huge, it can cost upto 3000$ to 5000cad$ for normal child delivery..for work permit holder he can get health card from his province but not the student..while some province may allow him to add you and kid in his health coverage.. Baby will not allow you to sleep, they will wake up 2 to 3hours at bed time looking for milk, unless you have second person that helps.. Imagine posting a comment on nairaland and the other quite baby is wating for me to finish . .if it is the other baby he doesn't waste time to cry..as i dey carry baby with one hand and typing with the other hand |

Now, his medical expired early August and he just discovered it today with flight already scheduled for Sunday and school starting in next week. I don't know the answer. Will there be an issue for him when he lands? Check if counterfoil is valid on application portal! if invalid he will need to re-do medical.. Sometimes ircc may extend medical validity on letter of introduction on delayed applications with medical valid on approval, expired before ppr although this may not apply to him.. I managed to travel with 7wks expired medicals.. though my counterfoil was valid. |

Secondly, on my imm1295e form, under detailed of intended work in Canada, I chose open work permit and I was asked for details of employer, address, date and title of employment.
What should I put here as no employment yet, just an open work permit?
Thanks for your time. falebe: Hello house, pls I need advice on this issue. I got an addition to University Canada West for April 2023, so I deferred the admission to September 2023 so I will have time to prepare for my self. I submitted my visa application on the 4th of July 2023, I received my PPR on 10th of August, and I submitted my passport to Vfs on the 14th Of August and got my passport back on 29 of August, I received letter of Introduction today. Now school are supposed to resume on the 25th of September, I have already book my flight ticket to 20 of September. But now school send a mail to me that they don’t have enough space for students for this September anymore that they will defer me to January intake. I replied the mail and said No that I don’t want to be deferred. They now said the only option I have is that I should be in Canada before 8th of September. I have to cancel my ticket and reschedule it to 5th of September. Student Advisor from the school now called me today that even if I come to Canada before 8th of September he not sure that they will be able to enroll me for September…. My question now is that even if I accept to be defer to January. Do I need to let IRCC no that I have been defer or is it Only new LOA from the School that I need. Even if you inform ircc or not as long as same school and visa valid, information is on file that application was approved on that DLI number, you can travel to canada with new LOA for January .but you may need extension in future though you will still have additional 4 months attached to the visa after initial program completion.. |

How does he defend his SOWP if they decide on that route? Please your inputs. Many thanks He doesn't have to leave the job then.. Prove that he will return at the end of his stay..
