Hi sir/ma, how do I get the application number? The only number on the mail sent to me after interview with five digits is written as "Abuja xxxxx" not "BELxxxxxxxxxx".

How do I get this application number please?
I've already been informed not to mail the embassy again.

@fikki1
Use the number. I am sure it is the same number. It may also be in your online visa application
Travel / Re: Anyone Studying In Belgium? by Premiercare: 6:23pm On Aug 23, 2021
Hi, your application number is the last 5 digit of BEL00XX000000000000XXXXX
Plung that number into the form in my earlier link and track your application. Put Lagos as your application embassy. The embassy in Abuja will not communicate with you again except thay want you to send in additional document (not likely after 4-6 weeks).
You can also do a mail to infodesk@ibz.fgov.be to enquire about the status of your application.

Put your 5 digit visa number here and track progress/status. When it changes to Akkord (Agreement), you are a week from receiving your passport with visa.
Timelines: vsf submission May 10
Interview: May 25
Akkord: 4th August.
NB: stated travel date was first week of Sept.
I think it took this long because we put a long travelling date.
Best of luck to all still awaiting visa. It shall end in praise.

Thanks, please which of the bank did you use cos I was told I can only use it to pay school fees and not fund blocked account

You can use it for the block account since it is going to the school accout. Did the school send you an invoice?
The German blocked account is in the student's name hence they will not do that.

Exactly. Immediately the embassy gets the documents, they will send you a mail listing all the documents and stating whether it is accepted and would be treated or not.
I called the Embassy today because I am expecting an additional document to be legalised. Is there any problem with the document, it is a week after submission today? Answer: What is the name and which document?
Name and document info given
Answer: No, no problem. We will process it.
But the last one we submitted was legalised within a week? Is there anything missing?
Answer: I will send it for approval very soon
Me: (Surprise!) Thank you.

Hello
How long does it take for the embassy to acknowledge receipt of documents for legalisation?
I sent my documents about 2 weeks ago and I haven't received a mail from them.
Something is wrong with your documents. They will send your document back with your return FedEx/dhl envelop. Did you use any non- certified photocopies? Even if only one document has fault, they will return all for you to correct and resubmit.

Is a waec certificate sufficient to apply for a Bsc program in Belgium?

Yes!. You need to prove that you have the qualification to study the same course in your country.
KU Leuven requires SAT mathematics for some courses eg Business Admin/Business Engineering. Ghent/ Antwerp only WAEC, but the latter 2 has only Dutch programs so you have to do the 1 year language prep programme.
NB: while WAEC can secure you admission, the level of stuff you require for year 1 is higher. BSc is 3 years so no introductory courses like you have in Nigerian universities in year 1. Remember that Belgian students do not require admission. They register straight from secondary school to the University. So first year serves to separate the boys from the men. So, while you can get in with WAEC, doing A levels or year 1(University) here in Nigeria while processing admission will help on the long run.

For statement of result, I think it is allowed if your school can show a proof that they have not issued original certificate for anyone.

For student copy transcript, I am sorry, the answer is no... it is not possible.
Ask school to send transcript to Legalization Section, Embassy of Belgium (Abuja). Pick it up and do the authentication (MoE/MFA) and then resubmit to Embassy for legalization. We did same for WAEC. Once you have info from your school it has been sent, wait 2 weeks and call the embassy legalization section. There is also a simpler way. Ask around.

No you didn’t understand.

Medical report was listed under required documents for visa processing Not for Legalization.

You can find out from the hospital to confirm price. They are usually faster than the other clinic at VI

2nd hospital 36k. You get result next day. They now operate from within another hospital in same VI but call the same phone number online first.
First hospital is 60k not 50k. You get report same day.

Good morning all,

Quick questions,

In filling the visa application form,

1. What should be the duration in days for a two years master's degree program? I was planning to write 730 days. That's 365 X 2

2. In filling the Funding part, I made use of BLOCKED ACCOUNT. My mother is my sponsor. Should I pick the option for personal funding or sponsored funding. Thereafter, how should I specify that means of the fund is through Blocked account. Cos there was no option for it.

3. I wanted to opt for multiple entries. But their is this caveat about having sufficient medical insurance in choosing that. Any advice on which to pick, single entry, double entries and multiple entries?

Thanks

1. 365 days. The system will not allow you write more than this.
2. Tick Sponsor, then tick others (write your mum's name), then under means of support tick others and write blocked account in front.
3. Multiple entry

I am trying to book an appointment on VFS global website and apparently I have to pay via card before the booking can be confirmed. However, their website also says that the service fee must be paid by POS at the visa application centre. I am pretty confused about this and also one of the requirement at the embassy is a proof of payment of the additional fee.
Please how do I go about this?
Thanks in advance.
You pay vsf service fees by card as you book the appointment. You pay Belgian visa application fees (84k?) with pos inside vsf on the day of visiting vsf. You pay 207eur (govt unis- article 58) and go with evidence of payment (+2 photocopies) to vsf and submit with other document on the day of submitting your visa application.

Is it possible and appropriate to ask for a change or an hour shift in appointment timing for visa interview in Belgian Embassy Abuja?

Did you submit originals or photocopies?

For Belgium:
1. Originals 1 set- all legalized documents/ legalization receipts and printouts, passport, 2 print out of visa application forms, admission letter, blocked account.
2. Photocopies- 2 set of every document above .
NB- you need 5 coloured photocopies of passport data page. 2 each for the 2 set of photocopied document above and 1 to be given back to you as document to show at point of collecting back your passport either from the UPS or the vsf centre. I had only 4, so used a black and white one for this purpose.
3. The only thing submitted as single copy is the medical report as you cannot open it.
4. No police report or foreign office payment required for us based on age.

VFS follows the checklist exactly. They will not ask for any other document that is not on the checklist. Just make sure your documents are legalized properly and everything is complete.
After the submission and your documents reach the embassy, they will reach out if they need any other thing.
But you won't be asked for things like ticket reservations etc.

We were in VSF Lagos yesterday for submission/capturing. Told them we had everything in the list and extra and the guy said submit everything!
So gave letter from current school in Nigeria (A levels) and hotel booking.

Greetings,

Please I will like to ask if VFS global usually ask for additional supporting documents aside the ones listed on their website or the embassy during interview. Like letter of introduction from employer/academic institution(for students), hotel reservation or travel ticket reservation?

Thanks in advance.

My thinking is go with these documents. If you get there and they are not needed, you don't loss anything. We have stopped short of getting ticket reservation for a planned student application very soon. I am processing for a dependant.

Thanks for the information. Done as advised. NB the maximum the form allows at point of submission is actually 365 days.

Hi, thanks for the information here. Just a question on student visa application. The VSF website says apply as soon as possible but the mail accompanying KU Leuven admission letter (For September 2021 Bachelor degree) says apply within 3 months of departure date. Looks confusing. I known the three months thing usually applies to Schengen tourist visa applications. Any opinion on this please?
