@chef Prestonn n other cooks. Please explain how to use rosemary in meals. I read it's stronger than thyme and shouldn't be used often? Talking about dried rosemary and thyme here.
Yeah Rosemary is stronger than thyme, though they belong to same family.

Thyme can blend with other ingredients, but Rosemary can't, because of the strong bitter taste.
If your meal require rosemary, just add little.

I always use rosemary to make chicken soup, marinate chicken, fish, meat and oven bake potato. tongue

How I make my tomato puree in Nigeria, I hardly buy from shops.

Tomato puree

Step 1.. Rinse the tomatoes under cool water

Step 2.. chop the tomatoes

Step 3.. Transfer to a pot and cook the tomatoes over medium high heat until they’ve released some of their juices and are tender, about 11  minutes.

Step 4.. Remove the pot of tomatoes from the heat and drain (separate the water they released) Allow the tomatoes to cool for like 5 minutes and  transfer to a blender and process until smooth.

Step 5..Transfer the pureed tomatoes into  zip-top bags or bottles and put in your Basil leaf(optional)and cover, place in the refrigerator, ready to use any time.

☆ For bbq (Chicken or Fish), add Rosemary inside the bottle not Basil.

Very true nne. I don’t eat garden eggs, but I eat garden egg sauce. cheesy

You know every other time you put up your ingredients, I noticed two recurring items- parsley and Basil. As you no wan rest for their matter, I bought them. Today I used the basil in my garden egg sauce and it is YUM! wink
cheesy cheesy I can perceive the aroma of that garden egg sauce with basil from here and I know the taste was great... Much respect.

I grow them at home...Mint, Basil, Parsley, Rosemary and oregano.

Sometime back I made my noodles without them. Though I used oyster sauce, chilli sauce and soy sauce, came out really nice. Not the sharp taste of noodles seasoning, but cool.

I can’t remember how much they all cost me, but I remember hesitating before picking them grin. Cooking without seasoning cubes would make one rely on other sources that are quite expensive for the average Nigerian.

Soup without seasoning cubes? I will do. Party jollof or stew without seasoning cubes? I no go chop that one. grin
The last paragraph though cheesy cheesy

It was later few of my friends in Africa notice I don't use seasoning cubes... And they always prefer me to be in the kitchen cooking cheesy

Nothing like what one is use to.. Greetings Mami.

Very nice. This reply reminds me of what Lagos Housewife says on Instagram about using bullion cubes and all these artificial spices to cook.

She uses natural spices like cumin, Oregano, rosemary etc for her foods and some of her followers send her messages to say that their foods actually come out tastier when they use these natural spices.

The one that makes me fear is the spice that comes with instant noodles.
Natural spices are the best.

I always dispose those spice that come with noodles.
