Hi guys. How are u all doing? Compliments of the season. So i am on VJ. (Visa Journey forum) once in while i read through especially the F1 family based category. So imagine my surprise, Reading on the forum this morning, saw a Nigerian in the Forum, who just got him Interview letter yesterday and amazingly his his PD is March 2011, and the current PD is 1st Feb 2011. I was like wow! Which means they might not be following the bulletin, or the Cue in Nigeria is not much on the immigrant visa processing , who knows. Even the guy said he was surprised to receive his IL this soon. Hoping for speedy movements. @ Oladeep how are u doing? Hope u have gone to collect your NPC attestation of BC |
juman:To be honest, no sickness is small ooo. Its just the grace of God. U hear stories of people that complain of headache, and before u say jack robinson, they are gone. Even malaria. Its by his grace that we go through such, take drugs and we are ok. Some people are not that fortunate. |
He's the Sun, She's the moon, while their future kids will be the stars. Pretty young couple. God bless their union. |
Pls who has VIP tickets?. The first time i went for the program, it was a VIP ticket. Was really awesome in his presence. |
God bless Adekunle for doing Nigeria proud. Not every Nigerian is a crook. There are good ppl in the midst of bad ones. |
biacan:Lol. It is donjazzy that said hello ma. Lobatan ![]() |
chukzyfcbb:Didn't you notice that was the color of the wedding? The grooms men were on black and white suit, while the brides maids were on black gowns. |

Wow! |
phatgirlz:I see you sis. Finlove. ![]() |
Eyaa. Someone talked about this young lady on FIN group on facebook. Said the lady is a good friend to her and she still can't get over the shock. What a life. May her soul rest in peace. Its really sad how young ppl are just going. |
AbiaBoi:K1 is fiancee visa. To be honest i just read about cases to be adequately informed. Our V.O officer on nairaland should answer your questions. Check the U.S immigration Visa ask a consular topic. He will help you with all the answers u need. |
AbiaBoi:. Well your in luck. Since your spouse is a U.S citizen, you are under the immediate family category. Cr1. No such thing as waiting times for your category. Once your case has been Filed, and approved by Uscis it becomes current and NVC contacts you as soon as they receive ur case. Unlike we in family based categories, that takes years of waiting. Yours is within a time frame of months to 1year from start to finish. |
VisaOfficer:Thank you very much for the response V.O. One quick question sir. You mentioned that the baby will need a Ds 260 form as well, and due to the movement of the visa bulletin, its obvious our case would not be current until next year. If the case is with the consulate by then, how do we fill the ds260, cos its online. Will the baby's ds260 appear online under my case file once logged in, after the consulate has been notified? or is the form going to be filled at the embassy on the day of the interview. Really appreciate your response sir. Happy Thanksgiving Sir. |
@ Olatoki, i just saw your question on U.S immigration visa forum, and decided to help, just incase you are going for your medicals soon. My friend just went for his medicals 2weeks back and i was very particular about that part which says immunization records so i asked him if he was asked anything like that and he said no, that what was requested was 6 passport photogtaphs and his interview letter. |
AbiaBoi:Hello Abiaboi. What do you mean by spouse based visa PD.? Is your spouse a U.S citizen or a Permanent Residence? |
VisaOfficer:Good morning V.O., really appreciate the good work you are doing here sir. Got my case complete, in September, and we were told to wait 60days. My PD is July 2011 under F1 category. ( Unmarried children of U.S citizens). I have 2 kids and we informed NVC about it, so they were added to my case at the NVC stage, with all fees paid. My boyfriend and I have been living together since I had my first child. Am expecting my 3rd baby, although not planned, but as a Christian I believe every child is a blessing. My question and concern sir is, when I have my baby who is not due to come until next year, how do I add my baby to my case, since we have already gotten case complete? Will I need to get an international passport for the "new born" what documents will be required? And how will we pay the Visa fee? Then 2ndly, if I get my interview before giving birth, will I be asked to go give birth before coming for my visa, I asked this becos a lady told my mom that she was asked by the consular officer to go and give birth before coming back for her visa, that I might be told same thing, and my mom said but her category is different from mine and all cases are different as the lady was in the F2A category, and mine is F1. Would really appreciate your response on these. Thank you and have a great day |
Oladeep:I feel you bro. 2004 till now, no be moimoi. |
chokey419:@ Oladeep, u better go get your attestation of birth certificate before your interview ooo. To avoid any delay. Chokey419 has told you same thing we said. ![]() |
chokey419:Thanks bro. Will do |
chokey419:Not yet bro. Case isn't current yet. Still July 2011. My friend that is Jan 2011 got a date for nextmonth. Current visa bulletin is Feb 2011. So am Still waiting. How are u adjusting to the weather and life generally? And hows ur mum? |
Oladeep:Have u seen any that has exceeded 1year?. Within that time frame the case will become current. Otherwise NVC will not contact you. They normally estimate the time, thats why they contact ppl ahead of time. |
elfmann:Like for instance lets say u get welcome letter from nvc this november to start filling forms and sending documents, it will not get to Nov of next year. U will get an interview date before november of next year. Everyone i have seen doing it, doesn't get to a year.. For instance even our fellow nairalander chokey419, who got his welcome letter september last year, despite the delay as he was given a Checklist to still submit an additional document, got his interview date for August of this year. So it took him 11months despite the delay. My friend who got his welcome letter in June finished the NVC processing and got his interview date for december. So he just spent 6months at the NVC stage. |
elfmann:From the day you get the welcome letter from NVC, u start counting. Thats why they say u should contact nvc if u don't hear from them within a yr or if they don't hear from u under after 1year, u start the processing allover again, paying of the fees and all |
Oladeep:I believe so too. I guess a lot of ppl opted out of F2b to F1 , due to fear of the unknown. F2b used to move faster than F1 when president Obama was on seat, but as soon as the new president took over those who opted to remain on F2b, started migrating to F1. Who knows. I was reading on VJ someone said too many people are applying and there are less workers to do the job. Like you said, a lot of factors could cause delay. |
elfmann:Don't think so, cos once NVC contacts u, they don't usually let it get to a yr, cos once it clocks a year, u start the process all over again. So they make sure ur processing from the nvc stage, to interview date doesn't exceed a year. |
Oladeep:Amen.. |
Oladeep:@ oladeep, just checked the visa bulletin now, entered nairaland and saw ur mention. Can't believe F1 only moved by 9days. This is the slowest pace ever. Did your category move?? |
40 and looking really good. |
Godswillu:True talk. I remember watching one beyonce's performance she was coming down the stairs in a dance performance. If u see the way she tripped, and tumbled down the stairs, that fall was enough to stop a show, but she got up and continued dancing, as if nothing happened. |
