You nailed it 100% …

Even in the IT/Tech industry, we’re all feeling the “short staffed” heat. My team keeps getting shrinked every time and have been trying to staff some key roles but talents are scarce… govt sectors aren’t exempted as well.

God bless your hustles

I can imagine. You too Bro. And please stay safe.

USA & South Africa - those are the most dangerous countries on earth. If you want to relocate to those two countries , write your will before you leave our dear native land of Nigeria.

Lol! There's no place that is not dangerous. An average American will tell you Africa is the most dangerous place to live.

Nah wa oooo the US embassy in Lagos is short of staff could you believe that their are only two consular conducting interviews . When I called NVC the lady that spoke to me confirmed it not until when my friend that got a visiting said that the consular are not many conducting they interview. Wahala dey for who dey ride bicycle.

The whole world is short staffed. Over here in the U.S, companies are raising pays just to get people. Its now a stiff competition of who pays more. A lot of deaths last year globally. Up to the people that remove snow off the roads, school bus drivers, everywhere right now is short staffed. Covid really shook the world and still shaking everywhere till date. I am considered an essential worker because i work with a pharmaceutical company.. we ship medications to hospital all over U.S.... For more than 3months we had to work 12hrs straight every day because we were short staffed. Every day, associates were quiting in large numbers,, because they were under paid. According to people for the amount of work we put in everyday and the number of hours, $19 an hr is too small cos right now most retail companies are paying upto
$23 an hour. If they don't raise our pay again, more people will start quiting all over again. I hope it doesn't get to that,, because working 12hrs and taking care of 3kids is no joke, driving to school and to and back from work on the Freeway. Smh! May God help us. American life no be joke ooo. Here na serious hussle. Now I understand what people living abroad say. The only difference is that here you work hard and see what you are working for, unlike in naija. I pray for everyone going through their Visa Journey. A lot has changed now compared to when we were going through our own VISA JOURNEY. Most times I have to read through just to see how things are done now. With all that is going on, in naija, excessive kidnapping, and all. Its sad sometimes reading the news, even about the young Nigerian boy that was bullied and killed in boarding house. It was such a sad case... and I hope the perpetrators don't get away with it. The decay is so bad now, even among teenagers. May God continue to help his Children.
I am glad I am able to pop in once in a while and read through this amazing thread and see a lot of people being encouraged through their Visa Journey. Its hard when you have to wait for so long to reunite with your loved ones, but be rest assured it is worth the wait, cos people wey no get their paper for here na problem ooo. They go through a lot and they have to settle for less. No joke.

I am well and family is doing great. Thank you so much.
Just looking back and remembering the night I started the thread while my first son was playing around in my bedroom back in Nigeria. The idea came to me, but the first thread I started was closed by one of the administrators. But I didn't give up, and thought of another topic to give it, and to my surprise it wasn't closed. This thread became a blessing to me on my visa journey, because I had a lot of help from here, and I am happy it's a blessing to many.
Wish everyone all the best and please stay safe.

Its Not been easy at all with work and kids. I swear America is a different ball game with what we see in Hollywood. You do everything on your own. I have to keep up with 3kids and my mom and work.. Thank God I have her. After work or the weekend she and my step-dad help me with the kids, but as an African daughter. I still Play my mother and daughter role when I am home from work. That i have the time to check social media and even remember nairaland is because I am off work from now till the new year. Fixed my vacation for the end of the year. So its eat, sleep and take care of my family. Till Jan 4.

My appointment was for 7am, I got there 6am, went in at 8am, there was a lot of people and the delay was much.  My name wasn't on the list and on getting inside my file wasn't found.

They had to open a new file for me and my family which took a lot of time. I wasn't asked any question, but was asked to provide w2 from my petitioner and co sponsor.

I will be submitting that tomorrow with our passport.

Left the embassy around 11:30am.

I am so happy for you dear. This is good news.

It was written on my Visa. I think it simply means that your Immigration documents have been stored in Digital form on USCIS data base. Which means when you get to your POE, they will collect your passport and access your Immigration documents via their data base. I don't know the full meaning of CCD but from what I have read of people's experiences, that is what it connotes. Which would explain the lack of a Visa packet as was the norm before. They are obviously going digital now and moving away from the manual processing.

Which means no more paper work. Everything now is on the data base. Everyday, new technology. Una own better ooo

Please where can one obtain immunization record here in Nigeria.

You should have your immunization records with the hospital you use. If not don't bother going for any shots ooo Like those Yellow fever shot that ppl going to Europe do. It will slow things down for u cos their shots are different at Qlife. The difference might Not be much. I remember the day i went for my medicals they made the announcement and said if anybody had taken any yellow fever shot. They had to send them home and schedule them for their medicals on another day.

Hi guys, please I have series of questions o.

So my aunt filed for all her siblings, their spouse and children in 2006.
We got a letter 2009 stating it was still in process.
Never heard anything till 2 months ago. Sent letter with deadline of less than a year to submit documents and go for interview. Waiting on other siblings so as to file together by my aunt's petitioner.

My questions
What's the feasibility of their spouse been granted?

As at 2006, some of the children were 20 below. But now, way over 30yrs, any possibility for them?

If Yes, can one include the kids of those who had given birth among the children?

Lastly, what documents are needed aside passport for the main beneficiaries? And hope the children wont be required to bring documents also

Sorry for the multiple questions cheesy

This is a question you should ask the Visa officers on nairaland,.
But with the little knowledge about it we can still help but i also strongly recommend you throw the question on the V.O's thread. This thread is just based on peoples experiences and little knowledge about the immigration processing.
The V.o's give you an accurate information.

Siblings filed Cases, if the beneficiary is married, his Family will go with him. Wife and Underaged Children. But of cos all their Visa Fees and immigrant fees would be paid for even to a baby.

2) Any adult Children would have Aged out, they will NOT be included ., So that means the adult children's parents will be the ones to file for them after they have left for the U.S.

Any Kids if the siblings who have given birth can be included, as long as they are underaged.

Let’s break the silence here! Interview went well last week. This forum really helped; thanks to everyone.
Interview Questions :
Who filed for you?
Where is she?
Where is she working?
How about your dad?
Then she said I will go ahead and approve your visa. She said they will text me when the visa is ready for pick up. Does anyone know know how many days? And do I have to call DHL or embassy to check if it’s ready

Mine took 2working days. I went for interview on a Wednesday, by Friday i got the email late in the evening that my Visa is ready for pickup. But i went to DHL office on monday morning to pick it up. You don't call them. You will receive an email from them. Some say they get Text message. Just keep checking your mail.

To think How time flies. By this time last year, i was getting ready for my interview on August 15 and now i am almost a Year in the states. For you guys waiting for yours it will come soon and everything will fall into place. Just hang in there, all will be well.

guys please don't be annoyed ooo, concerning the NPC birth certificate, I learnt my two parents name will be on the certificate, my issue is that my mother and father are married but not living together and no form of court marriage and my mother still uses her father surname.will be wise to use my father's surname for my on the certificate or just use her father's surname as her surname and also will the two(mother and father)different surnames cause problem for me during immigration? thank you.

How na. They will put their current names on there. They just need to see your sworn affidavit, with your parents names and there. They will type it in the national population certificate. Are you not bearing your fathers name? That shouldn't be a problem. My mom's name was different from my dads name, cos it was my stepdads name that was her Surname and it was on attestation of birth. Wasn't an issue at all.

Yes Hopefully they see the mail !please Let us know how it goes when you call them.

I am in an almost similar situation. I went for my interview but I was not given the visa and was told by the consular officer that My petitioner has naturalized and for that reason my case is now F1 category instead of the original F2B category. But NVC had procrssed my case under F2B category not sure why they did not inform the embassy. All my documents were taken by the consular , only my passport was given back to me. From research from other forums they mention i get an “Approval notice from USCIS” since they have the authority to grant opt out . I wrote USCIS a letter and got the Opt-out approval notice. Now i reach back to the support Ghana and they said my visa has been approved and my visa will be mailed to DHL wwhen they finish compiling my packet.

My confusion is , I still have my passport with me from my initial interview when they said my case is not current under F1 but now i have move to F2B, how are they going to issue my visa ? Should i take my passport to the embassy ? How do they get my passport to put the visa inside since now they say my visa is approved ? Does anyone have idea on this or face similar situation? This process and waiting is very confusing . cry

Email the Embassy and update them. Attach your opt out Approval letter as well and the letter the USCIS Accra wrote to you. They shoukd correct it as soon as possible and issue your visa.

Judging from your narrative, it is safe to say the young girl is a 'beauty without brains' whatever that means, and I'm sure her beauty was what got you hooked before you tasted the pie and subsequently realized she wasn't so smart.

Bro, I'm going to be straight up with you like I always do man...Selfish and self-centered is what you are (in bold).

You never hear say meat wey person no dey chop say him no suppose use teeth share am?

Oh because she was pretty, undemanding and mgbekeish, you decided to hold on to her, leading her on, and only started being honest to her about your plans when you had started making your travel plans and thus realized she'd be too local for your new status?

My bro, if that girl were my sister, and you had the effrontery to come to my house to spill what you just did here, you wouldn't have been able to use that visa of yours, and I'd have personally aborted the pregnancy with my bare hands. What insult.

If she's not good enough for you to wife, she shouldn't have been good enough for you to dickk and of course mother your baby(s).

This is even worse than a baby mama thingy, this is a baby factory one.

All the story about you making it clear to her that you won't be marrying her are just some cunning silly afterthoughts of a chronic user who had a game plan from the get-go.

There's something I'll tell you now if you like take am if you no like leave am.

I just hope and pray you won't come back looking for and begging this lady in the future and by what time it'd have been late already because you'd pay for your bid to selfishly destroy this young girl's life and dump her. For whom I ask after one o'clock?

Look around you and you'd find examples of cases like this where the man would come begging after years when his recompense would have been served steamy hot.

You no see GEJ and PEJ? How you see dem upon say PEJ dey break bottle with English?

You had better retraced your step, my friend, learn to love that babe, marry her and start a family with her or else you go regret am o.

Forget all these your later later excuses abeg

God bless you real good. She might not be good enough now. Doesn't mean she will not be good enough tomorrow. Some Men don't know that women do change, and change is the only constant thing in Life. He met her when she was just 19, now she is 21. What does a child know?. For the sake of her kids, she might end up being the best woman for him.

He would definitely end up regretting it, if he doesn't marry her. This case Is just a similar case with a friend of mine who met her then boyfriend when she was 19. They had dated for 4years and he was her 1st love. When they Met, she didn't know how to cook or do much, but out of love for him, she was so determined to learn and be better. Along the line, the guy travelled to London and then met another lady, and after 9months, decided the babe was not good enough for him, and then dumped her, that she was a Uni drop out and his dad would not be happy with that and the fact that she was from another tribe.
Long story short, she met someone else, she became a fantastic cook, ran a successful business., and 10years after he dumped her, she moved to the United States Legally with her family,,,....is working now and getting ready to go back to the University. How Great is God? But I sure hope the Ex is regretting his actions. cheesy grin

Hello house,

Read through the thread from behinning and i must say its been very enlightinging.. we have a perculiar case and am hoping someone has had a similar case and was able to resolve it successfully. My dad bro filed f4 for him back in 2006. We just got notification that the case has been approved and at NVC. However the Hiccup is that the date of birth the petitioner filed when filing the petition is different from my dads actual date of birth which he has on his passport and has been issued B1/B2 visa twice on it. I would appreciate input from the seniors of the house. @pretty16 @oladeep @ifunanyamaka @lindsy4real

Write NVC to inform them immediately so the date of birth can be changed. And hope what's on the passport is your dad's real date of birth? Cos your dad's Brother making mistake on his birthdate is highly unlikely as that is family. That being said, Hope the birth date on the passport is the real deal? Cos he has traveled with it on a B1 B2 Visa, make una no contradict wetin dey your dad Birth Certificate.

Please, we are done with filing our DS 260 Form and currently gathering all documents for submission.

My question is, can someone guide me on how to book medicals and the most preferred hospital? I am based in Lagos, on the Island to be precise.

I appreciate.

You do your medicals after you have gotten your interview date. Use Q Life. They are cheaper. And if you have your immunization records, even better. You save more.
