Yes they do. Some years, one is usually faster than the other by a couple of months. But its usually the same time frame.

I believe ttmacoy has sent u a detailed answer to this question.
Then as regards to the stay and work part as an immigrant in your statement. You cannot use a a B1/B2 visiting/tourism visa to live and work in America. Your sister has to file an I-130 immigrant visa form for you, and she has to be a citizen to do that. Then u will be on the queue to wait for it to be current . waiting time takes long though. U have to be patient.

If they are under F4 that means their siblings filed for them. They don't have a problem. Even if they get married to the mother/father of their kids, it is still the same time frame, think its about 13-14yrs wait. For F4 category. That's the longest wait time

Nope. I have kids. Not married yet. Your kids can be added to your case. They are called derivatives. You either have an option to go with them as your derivatives, or they can follow to join you later if you wish.

You will fill the DS 260 Form once NVC has contacted u for further processing. When u get to that bridge, u will know what to do , cos you are adequately informed, on the step by step procedures at the NVC processing stage, once you are sent the welcome letter.

My case is not f4. Its F1. Unmarried adult children of U.S citizens.

That's good, i didn't know about the long form one and the NVC approved my application using the smaller one only for me to get to the interview and was asked to provide the lingform version. Only resulted in a few fees delay while I had tk sort out from Nigeria but better to avoid.

Oh lord take control. I wonder why this is always happening in Ghana. Some years back they experienced a similar situation. Heavy down pour and flooding that caused a filling station to explode. A lot of lives were lost. God please take charge. We pray for the safety those around there.

Nope Oladeep, they don't ooo. U have to go to National population commission. I think the office is in surulere to get it. You also have to go with your passport photograph and some money. Back then it was 2500, but if u want it express, u pay higher. You also need a sworn affidavit from your mum to take with u to their office to get it. Don't know if they still request for that though. Got mine as far back as 2009. The certificate looks like this : Attestation of birth

Yes that is correct. I didn't even know that version existed and went with the smaller one we get from the hospital. I had to go and get the national population commission version and post to the embassy before I was issued my visa.

If you already have it then you're good to go, if not try to get it before the interview.

Yes. I already have that. The smaller one from the national population commission are birth certificate for kids. But the bigger one is for adults. My kids have theirs and I have mine. We scanned all and sent to them. I have the original copies that I will take with me once its time for interview. Thanks for the heads up.

I live in Ikeja. Yea. Back then they used to use Kamoras, cos I remember that was where my mum did her medicals. But now they use Q life or The Children's Practice.

As part of your documents to the NVC did you submit your long form birth certificate?

If not my advice will be to secure it before you go for your interview if not it may result in a request for more documents from the embassy.

For some reason the NVC did not pick this up in my case and at the embassy insisted I provide the long form birth certificate which up until that point I didn't even know existed.

Thank you. By long form birth certificate, do you mean the birth certificate from the National population commission? Cos that's the one I know they recognize.

The funniest thing is that so many people leave their life and daily activities hanging while waiting for this Visa of a thing...I can imagine 14 years and still waiting..That sucks !!

Lol, @ Godson, if u live your life just waiting for the visa to be ready, it will take forever. But if u get yourself busy, especially in the area of work, making money, u won't even believe when it arrives.

Two months after one's PD gets current. I think the first month is for medicals and the following month is for an interview...I think u should get yours soonest cos your category moves fastest among the FB categories.

Did u say 2months after PD gets current. My PD is July 2011. Gosh and they are still on Dec 2010.
If not for the retrogression, am sure by now mY case would have been current. I really hope and pray we get an interview date before my moms 60th bday next year. Cos said no celebration without us, especially her grandkids.

Hi everyone. So its been a while I posted here. We got our case complete email on the 29th of sept. To God be the glory. Am just so happy that my mom sent in all the required documents and they didn't have to request additional documents, cos I hear that causes delays too. Hoping and praying to get an interview date soon.

So I finally landed in the US yesterday and the journey was a bit hectic but we thank God for His mercies, left Nigeria on Wednesday with British Airways was a smooth journey but had to drop some things back home cus my baggage was over weight, got to london by after 5 but had a five hour layover before my next flight.

Heathrow is a very large airport escalators everywhere trains to take you from one part of the airport to another and all. By 10 to 11 my final trip to my poe started was 8 and 1/2hrs mild turbulence but all in all was good. The food on the plane was something i have never seen b4, imagine eating purple salad?

Got to O'hare international airport chicago didñt waste time at the cbp just handed in my envelope and was directed to another officer who collected them and told me to sit down. Tried calling my mom but was told i cant make calls in the airport. Within 5mins i was processed and told to queue so I could have my bags checked. Was lucky cus the officer told me to go.

Last part of my journey was taking the bus to milwaukee journey lasted like 2hrs had a white lady besides me the woman can talk for 5 people, she know know as e dey do me.

Finally got home and all is well, going to get my social security no today. Gats to hit the ground running.

Hahaha . Laughing at the purple salad part. But @Chokey there's purple cabbage in naija na, those malams sell them in mile 12 market sef. Its just that the price is usually higher than the regular cabbage. Thank God for a safe trip. We dey wait pics ooo

I think its the CC letter because its states that they have received all docs concerning the case and that the applicant is now in the queue awaiting an interview appointment overseas. Everything is in Gods hands.

Such visas hardly get approval simply because your filling shows that you have interest in USa and also a potential immigrant.They will just tell you to wait till your filling mature.
