Did OCT bulletin improve anyone's chances?

A quick question

How does one update records with email address so they can communicate the welcome via email.

Right now they probably just have the address used at the time of petition

Write to NVC via their email if your address has changed. Did u give your email address earlier, if u did there's nothing to worry about. They will contact your petitioner and they will send you the welcome letter via post mail.

ahn ahn...naija! even with the no of schools increasing daily, many of us are still stupeed! imagine someone saying they have moved over their child's demise.
common sense and tell you they are looking for some sort of 'distraction' and with the way the wife is hiding her face from cameras, you'll know it's Dbanj instigating these moves just to get them both to move on. But no, some people will think like crabs instead!

I tell u. The matter tire me too when I saw some ppls comment.

NOW now they have forgotten their baby. This life sef. Not even up to 6months

The loss of a child is not what a parent forgets easily. He might have taken her on this vacation, to keep her mind sane. Many women can fall into depression as a result of it or even become suicidal. This vacation could do them both a lot of good.

Congrats @wilsub
@pretty16. Can you help with this?

@tj28, yes I can. @ wilsub , congrats on your bundle of joy. God bless her. Prayed for a baby girl when I was expecting, but God gave me 3boys. May she bring Joy to your family.

First and Foremost, go get her international Passport. Becos if I ask u to write NVC first, they will still tell u to send a copy of her birth certificate, and a Bio-data page of her international passport. So go get that first before writing NVC.

In my own case my baby was just 10days old the day he captured for his international passport. The immigration officers were asking me, madam where u wan carry this baby run go?. I was working with time, because my case completed Sept, last year and then I had him Feb. Had to do everything sharply. The case was reopened to include him and then finally completed in April.

So u still have time. Nurse your baby well before taking her to get hers.

@pretty16 pls kindly reply.....I thought the wait time for f4 was 10yrs....mine was filed in 2013 and I am married now... when do you think is the right time to add my spouse and children’s name. Secondly hope visa denial doesn’t affect this process. Thanks

It's about 14yrs wait. So u should be looking at the year 2027 for ur case to become current. But bear it in mind that change is a constant thing in life, so who knows before then there could be a change in the immigration processing. You could contact NVC 1year before you become current, depending on how large your family grows, to add them to your case.

Good morning and I just stumbled on this thread while searching for similar thing online. Please I have a question.
I have a F4 filling and though my priority date is still a bit far but please does getting married has an effect on F4 visa application. Though I have being to the U.S on tourist visa once and I hope to renew my visa also I want to my apply for my wife and my baby, would they be given Visa?
Please I need an advice on how this work and I don’t want to let my application have any issue.

Thanks

Getting married while waiting for your F4 petition does not affect it in anyway. The wait time for F4 petition is currently 14yrs. U just have to write NVC to inform them when case is about becoming current, to add your family to your case. They will instruct you on how to pay their Visa fee and all, once u get to that bridge.
Hope this helps.

That you paid for your green card doesn't mean you are a green card holder yet. You CANNOT get married till you go into the US and get your green card. And if you do and you somehow scale through without their knowledge now, it will still come out when you are filing for her because your marriage certificate will show when you married and when you entered the US. My advise is dont complicate issues for yourself especially if it's something avoidable and straightforward as this is. It won't only affect her filing, it will affect your status.
I wish you all the best.

Exactly.

Thanks for your response. It is unmarried.
I'm planning to get married to her before I travel out. I have already paid for my green card.

tj28, just explained to you that you CAN NOT get married until you have relocated to the U.S and collected your green card. Even of you have paid for the green card here. You must remain Unmarried until you have gone to the U.S , then collect your green card and then come back and get married to your girlfriend. You want to Use your own hand to Void your Visa? Good luck with that.

Hi guys, I have completed ds 261 form. waiting for the next stage so that we can pay the necessary fees
..but rright now I presently working in uae. My question is...do I have to get both UAE and Nigeria police certificate ready before the interview or during nvc stage? Please help

You should get the police certificates and send to NVC. The police certificates is valid for 1yr. Even though Nigerians police certificates is issued for 3months, but the embassy validates it for 1yr. So if your interview comes up a year after you have done your police report, then you will need another.

Well basically if you are not married and you have a girlfriend in Nigeria unless you have the fear of God in you it probably won’t workout. Distance is the first barrier and women here are so easy going that you will be spoilt for options. Also if you want to date your fellow Nigerian here it’s all available. So the girl back home starts nagging complaining about wanting to come over when you haven’t even settled yourself. She may be expecting you to send small change home because you claimed not to forget her. Bros na long thing. Yankee is like a clean slate. You can be who you want to be as long as you work hard and don’t mix with the wrong crowd.

It’s a totally different story if you are married and have kids, that’s your responsibility and you no fit gawk am. But honestly if heard of stories whereby people forget their families back home and it’s messed up.

Wow.!

So basically I got here late September last year and I wanted to hit the ground running I tried searching and applying for jobs online but nothing was forthcoming I started getting a bit frustrated but I knew that everything will still workout fine. I’m currently in Wisconsin and here the public transportation ain’t really nice so that was another issue that was affecting me since most jobs I got called in for an interview were kind of far away, luckily for me a family friend sent me a link to a fedex job as a package handler. I applied and got the job I kid you not I only did that job for one day. It was back breaking work and I think that because I did have an African name they assumed I will be fit and all that. But honestly I couldn’t deal with it. So basically my first 3 months here I was jobless. A lot of people where advising me to work in a gas station or some bull like that but most people who work there are those that don’t have papers and I didn’t want to be drawn into that category.

So late last year I went to a staffing agency and they got me into a very nice job at an international food processing agency within a couple of months I was able to buy my first car. Life was smooth but I knew I wanted more and I didn’t want to be complacent in my current job because some people just get comfortable and be content with making $15 an hr. As you know IT is a very lucrative industry right now an I knew that I had to try to get into that somehow.

Was introduced to some who said he could train me to become EPIC certified but it would cost $1500 for a 3 week class brush up my resume and get me my first gig. I was kind of leaning towards doing that but I later changed my mind. I met this young lady and we started talking which lead to something a bit deeper. I will advise anyone who is single and has a boo back home don’t promise anyone anything because it will just lead to stories that touch. Well back to what I was talking about. I met the chic and apparently she works for an NGO who help to train people into certain IT positions and after you are done with the program you will get guaranteed employment well as a naija boy I knew that I had to get enrolled into the program. I eventually did and classes start by October it’s going to last for 4months so I should be done by January next year. So that basically been what I have been up to so far.

Yankee sweet as long as you keep focused always try to go to school or get certification in what ever field you will want to get into and sky ia your limit. Don’t try to rack up to much debt and you are good to go.

Thanks.

@ chokey419. Who would have thought bro. Exactly a year after u got your interview, I got mine. Same month. My interview was 15th of August. I was approved. I have also, COllected my Visa and packet for my kids and I. I had to Opt out of F1 back to F2B, cos F1 had retrogressed 2wice in a role. Very little movement under F1 since last year till date. Leaving Nigeria next month by God's grace. Trying to get things done, and buy stuffs for my mum too. Good to see your update.
