On the directive by the Federal Government to producers of cement to reduce the price, he said the increase in price of fuel diesel contributed to the high price of the commodity.

"What we have to look at is that cement is a very cheap product and at the company level we sell at about N1,500 but of course diesel has gone up from N80 to N160 while transporters have taken an opportunity to increase the price.

"We cannot put them out of business but we will make sure we inject additional 5,000 trucks to bring down the cost of transportation," he said.
