PoliticsThe Looming Economic Genocide by prettyG(op): 11:55am On Oct 13, 2011
Opinion piece

The federal government has planned to stop fuel subsidy as from 2012 and we are all agitating, and even begging, against it. However, no one is considering what Professor Tam David-West has always said: that there is nothing called fuel subsidy in Nigeria.
I don’t know the extent to which his claim could be believed but it is worth considering – so as to prove it wrong – because Professor Tam was the Minister of Petroleum Resources under General Buhari. Twice within the last one month, he has reiterated this claim – in Ibadan and then in Port Harcourt.
This is somebody trying to expose a propaganda but nobody is queuing up behind him. The manner in which Nigerian media houses feast on transient issues at the expense of pertinent ones makes one believe that a preponderant number of them are part of this propaganda.
