Daejoyoung: It's not about us. Was Jonathan a better candidate? Do you think if anyone else had the APC ticket in 2015, their administration would be better? This is an honest question. When Buhari was president back in the 80's he actually did his job. He was not a perfect president, he was still a dictator but there were visible changes during the 2 years he spent in power. I believe that's why people voted for him. Jonathan is from my tribe but I will call a spade a spade. he was a horrible president, Buhari's administration is equally and even worse than Jonathan's administration. Nigerians just wanted anybody else but Jonathan. Do you realize election are still not 'fair' in Nigeria? People behind the scenes like Obasanjo, Tinubu, are responsible for the leaders that we have today. I noticed that alot of Nigerians are critical of Nigeria without actually thinking about where Nigeria's problem is coming from. Have you noticed that after fighting like lions during the elections, our politicians still mingle with each other, shake hands, hug, laugh together, and party together? While ordinary Nigerians are fighting over tribes/ religions, these thieves and murderers don't see tribe/ religion as a barrier when its time to milk the country dry. Our problem is the political class. If we keep voting for APC/ PDP, we will keep getting the same results. 2 Likes |

emmanuelpopson: Nigeria has very intelligent people. The problem with Nigeria is that the system is not set up to tap into our talents. Developed countries invest in their citizens, people get grants in developed countries to do research. Corporations also spend a lot of money on innovation. Its easier to get loans with low interest in developed nations. Not so easy in Nigeria, because of this, entrepreneurship is not highly encouraged. When Nigerians invent something, advancements are not encouraged and those inventions die with the creator. There are so many Nigerians that have built, cars, planes, motorcycles by themselves. If the government cared, we would have our own car, plane manufacturing factories by now. We may not thrive at home but when we travel abroad to countries where finances and support are easier to attain, the sky is our limit. Africans are not cursed, We just have lazy, shameless, selfish, power-hungry leaders. |

Daejoyoung: So you feel white people are better than you because YOU think Africans have not invented anything? Do you know it was a fellow Nigerian that created the formula for fast computers? Do you also know that it was a Nigerian that made advancements to modern crude oil refining? Do you know that ancient Egyptians are the ones that started modern medicine? Those ancient Egyptians had the same skin color like you and me btw. Do you know the vital parts of that phone/ computer you used to type your comment was mined in the democratic republic of congo? If the Congolese government decided that they don't want western cooperations to mine their natural resources, the price of electronic devices will sky rocket. Do you know it was a black person that invented the first air conditioner? The first telephone with caller ID was invented by a black person. Those inverters that some Nigerians use for electricity was invented by a black person. Blood banks were invented by a black person A black person made the first traffic signal A black person created the ironing board. A black person created the machines that factories use to make shoes. Next time you walk through a door like this, just know it was a black person that made it possible. A black person gave me the ability to post moving pictures like this to respond to you people's deplorable comments and display of low self-esteem. This is something that I have noticed. Nigerians especially, have an inferiority complex and believe white people or people with lighter skin are better than them. That's why you will see Nigerians bypassing obstacles to defend white people in any given situation. Even on this board, I see it all the time. They defend the evil actions of white people to the detriment of their own humanity, its so sad to me. The colonial masters left 50 plus years ago but we are still getting eaten up by white supremacy. It's like an infection that will not go away. 1 Like |

TheEminentLaity: 1. I noticed that none of my "prayers" had ever been answered and I had never witnessed anything miraculous. 2. I never had any spiritual awakening like some people claim to have after fasting, praying and doing other things to get closer to god. Sometimes I think people that claim that God has spoken to them simply have a mental illness or they are straight up lying. 3. Evolution can be scientifically proven but creationism cannot. 4. I looked at the damaging effects of Christianity in poorer countries. Notice that most developed nations are not even religious. Meanwhile, the undeveloped ones are the most religious. The developed nations used their brain and love for their country to develop their country, not prayers. 5. A large number of Nigerian religious leaders are scammers that prey on the gullibility of Nigerians for financial gain. 6. Religions like Christianity were brought to Africa by the white man as a tool to control us. Not trying to attack northerners but notice how they never forced their religion on northern Nigerians but they did it to the Southerners? They felt that northerners were more malleable and willing to do whatever they said without revolting. Unlike southerners that fought until they were defeated. They convinced us they were better than us because of their skin color. They made us docile by beating bible quotes like these into our mindsets....... Hebrews 13:17 ESV Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they are keeping watch over your souls, as those who will have to give an account. Let them do this with joy and not with groaning, for that would be of no advantage to you. Titus 3:1 ESV Remind them to be submissive to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for every good work, Slaves, obey your earthly masters with respect and fear, and with sincerity of heart, just as you would obey Christ. Meanwhile, these people were robbing us blind. Their intention was not to spread Christianity but to rob us right in front of our eyes using the bible as a cover. Notice how despite the religions northerners practice, they still favored them over the southerners and left power to them once they left? 7. Even the bible says "faith without works is dead". If I have an exam to take, I study very hard, I will eventually pass the test. How on earth did god help me pass the test if i studied? If I had never studied for the exam, there's no amount of prayers that will help me pass. I simply worked hard for my marks, period! 7 Likes |

These petty scams Nigerians pull on them is not even up to a fraction of the money they've stolen from us so far. Oyibo people are one of the reasons why Nigeria is the way it is right now. They're the biggest scammers on this planet but they make us blacks look like we're the worst when we're still in the baby stage of scamming. The only thing that bothers me is the bad name it gives Nigerians and the other black poeple it affects. I just wish these scammers would extend their skills to milking the armed robbers we have in the government dry. Anyways................ No wonder other tribes did not support you people during the civil war. Imagine how much worse Ijaw people would be if Biafra actaully happened. God forbid!! |

nasoeb: This thread is old, but you are absolutely right about this. My father, a Nembe man told me this same story. The Ibani people did not want Igbos to know their plans, so they would speak Igbo to the Igbo slaves. @bigFrancis21 , I hope you've inhaled sense by now. Everything is not about you Igbo people. You people had to derail this thread for Ijaw people to talk about their different dialects. Don't you have your own thread to talk about your language? Very annoying bunch. Ibani's are Ijaws. Their language is part of the Ijaw language group. My Nembe is rusty but I can still understand people conversating in the Ibani language. Not word for word, but atleast I'd be able to tell what they are talking about. To the Op, thank you for this thread, however, Brass and Nembe people can communicate very well without any issues. I didn't even know there was a difference in dialect because my parents are from both areas. |
