Tenancy agreement on what basis? When there is no rent? I'm sure there are records of some sort maybe receipts and such because if he decides to go to court I don't see how a tenancy agreement that is how many months old will help.

There must be a way your friend keeps account of payment or tenants on his premises. Let him first worry about the 6 months notice otherwise that man will be living in his house for free for a long while

Firstly, it's depends on which state your friends premises is located because most states now have their recovery of premises law, and also on the agreement the landlord has with his tenant. If the agreement has a specific period of notice, then the landlord is required to give him that period of notice.

In the absence of an agreement, Since the tenants rent has expired and he is a yearly tenant it is still compulsory to issue a six months notice to quit. The six months notice to quit is to be issued to a yearly tenant six months before the expiration of the tenancy.

After the expiration of the 6months notice and the guy has not quit the premises, the landlord is required to issue a 7 day notice of intention to recover possession of the premises. He cannot forcefully evict the guy. Upon expiration of that notice, then he can proceed to court to have him legally evicted and to collect arrears of rent the guy owes him.

Although it is annoying because some tenants are really difficult, plus the legal process is Naija is an eye sore, that is the general position of the law and if it is done any other way, some lawyer will use your friend to shine.

The chances might not be their again when I come am a female and and I love to have masters in future but everything just happened yesterday when a friend told me that without NYSC certificate I can't have my masters in nigeria so that was what made me confused

If it's in Nigeria, then I dunno about the NYSC requirement.

Wrong, you can go for your masters without an NYSC certificate, it doesn't mean anything to most international schools.

Whether to travel or go for your masters is entirely your choice, you need to think about which option is more important to you at this point. Look at the points in favour of each option and weigh them e.g for the masters, will you have the opportunity to travel after your NYSC? If not, NYSC is not running away. For the NYSC, what are your options after NYSC? If you go for your masters will you still have those options when you return?

Just my humble opinion, it's your life and only you can choose which path to tread

You can be stealthy when bringing it out so people don't notice, at least when you're not with family, your family should be used to it by now, or you can curb how you and what you eat outside. For e.g instead of eating foods like rice and others that require cutlery, if you absolutely have to eat at occasions then eat stuff you can eat with your hands like chicken and small chops.

It's a bit weird, but I always check my cutlery and use a napkin to clean especially the forks because many people don't wash the prongs properly. But if you are so sensitive about it why don't you try carrying your own cutlery, that way you wash it yourself and don't have to keep smelling others.
