He is desperately trying to turn Nigeria into a one party state. The worse president in the history of Nigeria. Very evil and corrupt. People are being slaughtered all over the country and he is afraid of taking a hard stance against terrorism because he doesn't want to loose the vote of the terrorist sympathisers in the North.

Meanwhile he's followers say there's nothing wrong because according to them, his wife is a pastor. And these people are supposed to be the most educated in the country grin
Some of u dont understand o. This is French card in africa. They turn the country into one party system with very weak opposition and the president can rule for life. Blind and misguided folks being used by the rich who are bent on maintaining the status quo. It will fail and they will be put to shame.
I am not rich, I am against the law because govt will tax me 9m plus yearly and I am not close to being rich. I struggle with the crazy bills in Nigeria and crazy dependencies due to wacky system.
We want tax but not crazy 20 percent plus. U are taxing me like the UK, do u provide services like the UK? Do we have high minimum wage like the UK? I have spent over 100k on fuel and generator at my family house in one month, will govt allow me to deduct that ?
So, if I made 20m last year from foriegn sourced income, and I spent 3m plus to buy fuel and repair generator and pay electricity bill. That means I have 17m lest for other things.
If Tinubu and his men takes about 4m of that money as tax this year, it means they reduced my purchasing power to 16m. Now, i will still spend 3m plus on home generator aside business generator. If they had taken the 4m plus as tax and i dont have to spend 3m plus on fueling generator, and ko, I will gladly pay.
I have not mentioned the cost of private schools since public schools are useless and under funded. We resist this madness. Nigeria is not ripe for such uselsss tax.
Govt should fix leakages, corruption, stop awarding projects to croonies, stop paddling budget, run tech driven reform to improve financial transperancy where any competent person can win public project and execute it. The govt should utilize our empty lands for massive agricutlture, a lot can be made from farming galric and ginger alone.
The govt can make a lot from sport. We waste money caring for the retirement packages of ex governors, senators, house of rep memebers, presidents, generals, AIG, IG, etc. We are paying tax to fund their lives. God forbid. I resist it!

Meanwhile, "the finishing specialist" has quickly come out to embarrass himself, his mouth is way faster than his brain. One wonders if the minister was the cause of the vandalism. When the pipeline caught fire, FG informed Nigerians on the development, they immediately curbed the fire incident and began the repairs. This obviously affected power supply. And FG has once again informed Nigerians about the completion of the repairs. Is the Gbajue insinuating he's not aware?, or his media team that was supposed to inform him left all the weed to him alone?. This is why he will never become President.

Preliminary investigations, according to the minister, have established that the gas supply shortage was caused by the ELP explosion and acts of vandalism on gas pipelines in the Niger Delta region.

Why are we like this?

Some people just like seeing their fellow humans suffer

To what end is the vandalisation of gas pipelines when it is clearly obvious that it can not be containerized.

Now that petrol availability is not a cause for concern, the enemies of the people have focused their gaze on the gas pipelines.
Past administrations faced same issue. What idea do the new ones have to fix it?
I have always said it, as long as Nigeria refuses to fix the root cause of her problem, Nigeria can't grow.
The root cause is faulty political system a large country like Nigeria should be running true federalism or confederal system of govt not unitary presidential.
Secondly, once that is done each state or region can now control their population. No more need for people to use population to retain power. We have lots of unproductive population and they are unemployed and underemployed. They can't reach govt becus politicians have best security, so, they attack the regular Nigerians

You raised some valid points in your second paragraph.

But why did you add hookup in your first paragraph? Is prostitution legal in Nigeria

Coming to Taxes, many Nigerians evade Taxes, die decor those who work with government and other established structures were taxes are deducted from source before final Salaries

There are also taxes ordinary Nigerians pay, which should be stopped following this new law. Such taxes include those collecting levies from Kelechi riders or petty traders etc. in the name of Local government tax. Maybe there could be a way to T-Mobile all these to avoid such people paying multiple taxes
I said same thing, there are different types of taxes. What many nIgerians werent paying was income tax. And the reason was because many Nigerians dont have jobs. Yes, many nigerians are self employed and struggling. So, income tax from such sector wasnt really coming in but those working in companies, govt establishments alreayd have their income tax deducted. While most Nigerians pay other type of taxes such as VAT, bank charges go to govt as well, import duties, etc. Most Nigerians already pay that.
As for hookup, ur tax man said it doesnt matter what u do, u will be taxed, he even used hookup as example. So, that is it.

Now, my concern, Nigeria suffers from massive poor job sector, which means most Nigerians have to struggle to find something to do. In such a country, how dare u take up to 25 percent of such struggle? Like we need to be having sense.
Should I really explain the reality of Nigeria today?
Look, calling those who earn 800k yearly poor is wicked. Those people are not living, they are dead. They are worse than poor. What u should tag poor today is 15m yearly. Yes, a person on such income with family is poor.
Here is the reality, Nigerians provide everything for them selves. There is nothing govt provide here.
Let say I made 20m last year from remote works, and in my family house, my people need light. So, let say I spend 4m on electricity, fueling, generator repair and I didnt pay income tax but have been paying other taxes such as VAT, importation duties, bank charges, etc. Now, govt comes and add income tax which will be around 4m plus. Now, my 20m purchasing power has decreased to 16m. But my electricity problem did not decrease. I will still sort out the electricity which cost me 4m last year. Can u see how govt reduced my purchasing power?
Now, let say becus of bad roads, I spend about 1.5m yearly to maintain car, what happens to that?
Now, becus most Nigerians are poor so u surely will have dependencies such as parents, siblings, friends who once in a while need ur help.
I still spend heavily on bottle water yearly, if govt had provided water, this would have been sorted out. So, govt cut down on my purchasing power without resolving any core social issues for me. So, who will fix those problems I cant fix now as my income has dropped?
Omo, we are so funny in this country.
In a country with high rate of unemployment, encourage people to make money and increase purchasing power and reduce income tax. With increase purchasing power, u can have VAT at 10 percent, govt will still make good money and govt should ensure the VAT money is utlized properly to fix social issues and gradually introduce income tax at lower rate until the country is developed with structured institutions. What govt needed to tackle now is cut down in running cost, block corruption, fix electoral system so that people orietated candidates win, make corruption unattractive at all cost. taxing already poor country to this tone of 25 percent is madness.
One of the reasons foreign clients work with Nigerians is cheap labour. So, if u are now taxing me like developed worlds, how do I charge my clients cheaper? Dman!

Interesting times ahead

Nigeria may get things right gradually
Una funny shaa. Na today Nigerians begin pay tax? The only people who are captured in this tax now are remote workers, content creators, hookups, etc. Before now, these people werent captured. But they have been paying other type of tax such as VAT, bank charges, import duties, etc.
Nigeria never worked with all the resources we have, it will still not work now. Nigeria's problem is looting. baba, people dey loot this country die and it wont stop until electoral system is fixed. Now, if electoral system is fixed, people can win election based on their strong campaign, so the politicians will be scared of masses and not scared of fellow politicians. For now, politicians are scared of other politcians who have capacity to influence election via rigging. That is why people who store can migrate to the ruling party and they wont be tried in court. So they can bring votes for the ruling party. So, baba, naija no fit better, forget it.

Why should I pay 25 percent of my income as a freelancer who sourced projects abroad?

If I made 20m last year and didnt pay income tax but paid all other rediculous taxes, and spent 4m on home generator fueling, repair and electricity because my house needs light, now excluding the fueling for work place. Then next year, Tinubu takes about 5m of my income as tax. He has reduced my purchasing power, what now happens to the 4m I spent on fueling and generator at home? Does he have plan to allow me deduct such expenses since govt is supposed to provide me with electricity? we arent talking about fueling for business place, most homes run fuel for over 14 hours daily aside their business place fueling o.
If Tinubu takes about 5m from my 20m, I am left with 15m. This means I cant be able to handle the stuff I was able to handle with my 20m earning. If he took 5m and provided me with electricity which means I wont need to spend such to get light, that is fair. Now, there are other stuff. He has reduced my purchasing power drastically. the tax law is fraudulenet. Also, why sign agreement with France without approval from National assembly. Who does that? A country that fails to produce will bleed. Nigeria is purely a consumer focused country, even increased tax will not solve ur problem. Ur problem lies in ability to produce and export.
Start with fxing ur medicals to attract lots of foriegners, fix ur toursim to boost lots of money within, u can make a lot from value added tax if ur people have high purchasing power. U can do this by lowering income tax and company income tax and maybe increase value added tax to 10 percent, fix ur toursim to attract forigenrs and locals to places where they will pay VAT to enjoy luxury. Find ways to encourage ur remote working force to attract more money abroad. See how to lobby Nigerians living abroad to invest here and make good returns and keep investing.
As it is, naija is on free fall and from what I am seeing, these men are lost, cant fix it.
