He wanted to become a billionaire like his military predecessors who cashed out big time when they ruled, but his coup plot failed.

It would have destroyed the economy. The only way they claim legitimacy is by offering populist policies that would destroy the economy like bringing back fuel subsidies.
But Tinubu budgeting 7b and 10b for solar last year and this year won't destroy the economy ?
The life style of the politicians who waste public funds won't destroy the economy ? Sometimes I wonder if people like U are just wicked.
Nigeria problem is poor investment in competent education and waste of public funds through politicians life style, families and girlfriends.
The money spent on Vice president alone can put our local league in good faith which will boost tourism, creates massive jobs and improve economy. U can't fool people like me.

He was likely promised the role of tourism minister. This will be the first twenty-first century coup experienced in Nigeria.

Why are coups still a thing in Africa? Them swear for this continent? Why don’t they happen in developed nations?
Coup happen here because we don't have electricity in 21 century, we don't have water, we have politicians who loot the entire generation dry, elections are rigged with impunity, courts are compromised. Masses suffer so much. No advancement since civilians took over. Constitutions are not even respected. The thing is there is nothing tangible the civilian rule can boost of. The people of west Africa still run out of the regions more due to extreme under development.

As for those who do crime like this, it is stupid of u all to communicate via ur phones.

It is also stupid of u all to have a meeting with ur phones even though u dont on it, phones have audio chips that listens to what u say and phone companies have access to these records. Even if u didnt use ur phone or put in it flight mode, the audio chips work grin.

Crimes like this arent and shouldnt be done with any device present even if off including ur car, ur TV, ur smart watches, ur radio, ur phones, etc. Anything modern now have rely chips.

And for how long will a man keep hustling and no savings? Is constant electricity impossible or what? Like what would it take? Cant a state of emergency be declared on just this power issue alone Atleast?

Dennisochampa:
Tax evasion is a serious offence in every country around the world... While this might be painful to experience, I think it's needed to help make people develop the habit of paying their taxes...
The arguments of a lot of Nigerians how ever is that they do not see a reason to pay taxes.... Because the ones they have paid before are not used for what it's meant to... This is an issue the government needs to address.... Infrastructure, health, education, welfare and benefits etc.... These things must begin to manifest to improve the confidence of people while paying their taxes
Let them manifest it first. U must not tax people like countries without resources. What Nigeria has is corruption. U cant be taxing blessed lands like Europens who arent blessed in resources. U tax small and utilize the god given resources to manufacture finished goods that u can consume locally and export. That is how u grow ur country. Not by taking 70 percent of the money from resources to take care of politicians and their families and side chicks. Nigerians will reduce keeping money in the bank. This will back fire. People will move money to hardwallet for crypto. It is better kept there for ur generation than to gift it to politicians to enjoy side chicks and buy properties abroad.
I provide my own electricity 70 to 80 percent, use private schools, use private healthcare, pay for estate security and u want to tax me up to 40 percent in total tax? U dey mad? Plus our resources u have hijacked to ur self alone. U dey mad? Becus we are cowards here no mean sey we be fools.

brother you are late to the party , a lot of young people are already investing in agriculture. i have a friend who has invested over 150 million in agriculture in the last 3 years , i also have another friend who exports tons of cashew nuts and sesame seeds. everything no be government, agriculture na business at the end of the day .
while some people are waiting for government to spoon feed them others see opportunity and invest. The only thing government can do is give agricultural loans to already established farmers . My guy collected over 50millon in agric loans last year. There is no how nigeria won't import , we cannot produce everything we consume, the most important thing is to balance our trade deficits, export as much as we import .
Hahahaaha, people like u make me laugh. Govt is not spoon feeding anyone. The duty of govt all over the world is to make the environment conducive for business to strive.
U mentioned u have a friend who has done this and that, then why is ur naira falling? It is trading almost at 1500 today. After all the gragra by gvt, it still failing. Do u know why? Ur country is poor in manufacturing.
Without electricity, there cant be strong manufacturing base. The people u mentioned are like drop of water in the ocean. U need strong Science driven society to achieve development.
Can u produce smart TV in mass? Can ur society convert ur raw materials into finished goods?
Farmlands have been raised and destroyed by herdsmen, that is a big issue. I can get killed in my farmland, my investments can be destroyed by cows. These are the issue. Gvt needs to fix these things, they are paid to do so, but they wont and people like u think people are lazy? Nigerians are among the most hard working set in this life. If i tell how I grew my self within the past 5 years, u wont believe. Not many countries have such hard working citizens. Nigeria govt failed her people

bunmioguns:
N1,257 sounds theoretically sound using Purchasing Power Parity, but the 'Nigerian Factor' and our heavy reliance on imports always create a gap between theory and reality. If we can't fix productivity and crude oil theft, 'fair value' will remain a dream on paper.
Without science and sound agricultural system, nigeria will never achieve development, even if she taxes are citizens 80 percent of their personal income and other taxes.
Invest in sound education and prriotize science, make agriculture attractive for young people. Take one thing ur citiznes import a lot, call ur professors in ur FG universities to round table talk, tell them who ever has the framework to replicate that will be given grant, and good money. Let them go to do their research, produce a prototype, mass produce it, gradually, ur citiznes will start using that insteead of importing. Get lands and give out for free to certain age bracket solely for agriculture, provide the incetive for the business and let them pay gradually back at good rate.

There is no benefit of civilian rule either, just fear, that is all. People still get picked up for critizing govt. It is just a matter of time, Nigerai will explode. With this level of population and under employment and unemployment, it is just a matter of time.

And there's this comparison culture that we practice...

1. ISHOWSPEED hangs out with Jarvis.

2. Peller barred from meeting ISHOWSPEED.

Wizkid Vs Davido
Wizkid vs Fela
Davido vs Burna Boy
Lagos vs Anambra
Yoruba vs Igbo
Jarvis vs Peller
University vs Polytechnics
Private University vs Public University
This vs That etc

After all the unnecessary debates and insults online, we still don't have tap water and uninterrupted power.

They started celebrating from the very morning of the final.

Homes, streets, markets, cars, buses—everywhere was painted in the national colours. Jersey sales went through the roof; almost everyone wore something that showed support.

Their President wore a Jersey that was signed by all the players, and the team. Don't forget, they even set up viewing centers in almost all the roundabouts.

Senegal winning the AFCON was never just about football. It was a collective expression of love, pride, and loyalty to the nation. You could see it in the faces of the people. You could feel it in the air. From the elite to the ordinary street trader, everyone owned that victory.

Senegal's victory at the AFCON taught me something important: patriotism is not built on perfection. It is built on belief. You nurture your country even while demanding better from it. You celebrate it, defend it, and invest emotionally in it.

A country grows when its people love it!
yes, especially when the politicians love it. They are paid and well taken care of to provide health care not with their own money o, with state resource. I am paid nothing, I am not expected to love the country. I am infact, providing from my sweat for the country.

Oga,, blame it on our selfish and gullible mindsets....
Which one is selfish mindset?
Let me give u a run down. The prices of food will reflect daily realities.
Take for instance, let say I offer a service for 50k and in 2024, I could afford a luxury of 100k to treat my self. Then suddently that same luxury is now 150k this year due to their own operational issues, taxes, etc.
Now, i will also need to increase my own price to maybe 80k to be able to meet the new price of the luxury item.
This is how pricing works. The farm product sellers also have other costs to cover: children school fee, crazy house rent, monster fueling of generator to power both home and businesses daily, monstar transportation fee, etc. The only way they can be able to afford their needs which they need to purchase is by increasing their own prices.
U cant expect me to keep selling 50k for my service when what I could afford with that 50k before is now 150k.
Price will go down when fuel goes down. Fuel controls the economy. It is expensive right now. And dollar is high. Witjout these two going down, nothing will ever go down.
Go and see how much private shcools are calling. Basic private schools o. If govt had reliable govt school, that would have saved millions of average Nigerians the money spent on private schools.

I ran two businesses two years ago. Omo, i closed them down. Running business in Nigeria is brutal. I was using generator on both busineses daily. Omo, the money i was burning on petrol was not funny. I will still have to buy fuel for house genrator daily o. Omo, I nearly ran broke. I closed the busineses
