I can confirm that Osogbo has a steady power supply. In a day you can have light for 20 hours from the perspective of a person staying in Ogo Oluwa area.

Some odd days do exist when there are long outages. But that's when there is a grid collapse of some major fault. Or one politician has gone to manipulate things

HealthRe: My Son Looks Like 7up's Fido Dido, Help!!!! by princefunm: 9:40am On Feb 29, 2024
blazer2018:
Hi guys, please I really need your help.

I have a twelve years old son who is very lanky, he looks d*mn too malnourished for comfort. He was very robust from birth till around the age of 8, when all of a sudden he started depreciating, initially, we thought it was a normal thing, as he was growing taller too, but now, I can't even bring myself to post his pictures on my status. He looks just like 7up's Fido Dido.

Now, this is a boy who eats whatever he wants, he's well fed, and lacks nothing. But with his looks, you will doubt that he's even fed at all. Although he looks far from being healthy, but he rarely falls sick. He's so skiny that whoever sees him, asks us what's wrong with him. Another thing, he always leaves his mouth opened, something that has now affected his teeth. We tried every tricks in the book to stop this, but to no avail, he can hardly keep his lips shut for more than 30 seconds.

Now, he's is a very hyperactive boy and finds it difficult concentrating atimes, but he's well above average in school.

Kindly help with solutions to this problem, it brings tears to my eyes as we have done everything we can think of to reverse this. Recently, a doctor suggested we place him on egg regimen, he now eats 3 eggs daily, but there seems to be no changes whatsoever.
Recommended medications, specialist or hospital we can take him to, preferably in the South West would be highly appreciated.

He's my only child, please help a desperate father!!!🥺
I am assuming you have taken him to a qualified medical consultant.

If no....that would be a goosdce to start.
BusinessRe: Naira To Trade At 386/$ As CBN Resumes Forex Sale To BDCs by princefunm: 10:16pm On Feb 27, 2024
After riping Nigerians off on their IMT dollars, BDC will now turn around and maintain the status quo

As in what kind of monkeys are running this nation's monetary policies anyways?

This is what you get when you put an accountant in charge of a central bank. Keep treating the thing like its a commercial bank.

(no hard feelings accountants....but that's just the way it is. You don't know anything else outside your ledgers)

You can't just change figures and expect things to work.

I have not seen any real economic move from this CBN leadership. All they keep doing is running from pillar to post.

Lower import duties and fees

Proactively knock off essential products from the blacklisted import items

Drive growth and reforms in key economic sectors.

Peg the currency to other viable world currencies

These are low hanging fruits that even a lay man from the masses can think off.

Kai.....na was oooo
PoliticsRe: Speculators Undermine Measures To Stabilize Foreign Exchange Market – Ribadu by princefunm: 5:38pm On Feb 21, 2024
Speculators are not the problem.

There will always be speculators in a living economy.

I keep saying.....there are macro issues that are being ignored.

Tackle this macro issues first. Tackle this macro issues first.

Going after speculators and closing all windows will only grind the economy to a full halt.

The reason nothing the so called proactive government has failed so far is because they are focusing on the wrong things.

The worst that can happen is that Binance closes the P2P section.

P2P is just only one of the many ways to make money on Binance. Trust me all these funny moves by BAT are just chinks on an iceberg.

You cannot stop Nigerians on Crypto.

Paypal did not stop Nigerians

Clickbank did not stop Nigerians

Na Tifnubu wan come stop Nigeria?

Do you people actually make money from this crypto true true?

I don't even take anyone into this crypto thing seriously, it's same as betnaija gambling to me and if not why is it only men that do the crypto thing and the very few women involved are tomboy?
How an intelligent human being finds the power to type this is something I cant understand.

You mean since 2017 when Nigeria woke up to crypto, you have been yinmuing at them.

[quote author=oliverwrites post=128566617]Don't just type for the sake of it, analyse things properly. Only thus morning two bureau de change guys quoted me 1780 and 1790 to sell $1,000. On binance, it is currently 1890. Why the 100 naira difference?

This morning it was lower than 1780 on Binance.

At the time you checked the price on Binance, did you check with your BSC friends?

Do you think your BDC friends are changing your currency out of goodwill? That 100 is the profit they make on top.

I don't even know which it is...

Is it the fact that the citizens of Nigeria now see the illegality of BDC's as normal

Or is that they are just as clueless as the leaders themselves?

Nigeria is the only nation on planet earth with a currency black market. The word "black market" is directly associated with illegality.

Yet here you are using it as a standard of reference.

We are so lost in this country

A bookie will only hedge when his books are not balanced on a particular market. It doesn't make sense profitwise in hedging for bookies why should they? For instance, if an exchange like Betfair or a sharp like Pinnacle is offering 2 3 4 for a prematch and a soft bookie is offering 1.50 2.40 3.10 for the same game. In as much as your books are balanced it makes no sense hedging on an exchange as a bookie. Because you will be shredding or even giving up your edge and profits.

Bookies like Ladbrokes, StanJames, William Hill, etc., were already functioning before the advent of Betfair as an exchange. So bookies make profits even without betting exchanges. I use a broker to access Betfair.
What Broker do you use? The one with Asia in its name? I don't know seems Nairaland b.o.t.s. have a problem with that name. I get banned everytime I mention it
CareerRe: Nigerian Woman Gets Fired In The UK Before First Shift After Bragging On Tiktok by princefunm: 12:36pm On Dec 27, 2023
koboko69:
Woman Who Bragged On Social Media About Her New Job At A Luxury Store Sacked Before First Shift

An online video of how a young woman was sacked by a renowned company in the UK company even before she began her first shift has got many people talking.

Recently employed by Harrods, the lady identified as Akorede but known on TikTok as @korrxss, disclosed that she had not yet started her first shift when she received the notice of termination from the company.

Before the viral video of her dismissal, she had gone viral with a previous video in which she talked enthusiastically about her job at the UK-based luxury department store.

In that first video, she suggested that her social class has shot up because of her new employment, stating at one point:

“I’m dealing with the richest of the rich, who are you dealing with [giggles]?”

@korrxss

Lmk if u want tips on how to get innnn 🥰🥰🤗

But in the second video, her story changes. Sounding disappointed, she told her followers on TikTok that she didn’t even do her first shift at Harrods before she got fired for going on social media.

Akorede wondered who may have sent the footage to the employer after she was fired. She gave the situation further thought and concluded that it taught her an important lesson to avoid posting pleasant news on the internet.

“I got fired! Before I even did my first shift, I got fired. Someone must have sent the video ‘cos I don’t know how they must have found it. I took that video after I attended my induction; I’ve not even attended my first shift.

“That was really sad. I learnt a really valuable lesson; don’t ever tell good news to people or the internet, keep it to yourself. Upon reflection, that was kind of a shitty video; I was just joking and was just excited,” she said in part.

@theshadeborough

Sis really got sacked by luxury store #Harrods before even starting the job, due to a bragging video posted about her new role 🫣👀

Her story has drawn varied reactions online.

FamilyRe: Please Should Continue My Marriage Plan With Her After Hearing This? by princefunm: 12:29pm On Dec 27, 2023
letstalksense:
There is this lady I plan to marry, which I have made known to her already even before she travelled for her NYSC. Although she just came back from NYSC service recently. We are just discussing the way forward and on the process I was asking her about her sexual life and how recently she had sex. After insisting for her to answer. She opened up and told me she had a sexual relationship during her NYSC service. And the reason was because I didn't call her at a particular time so she thought I have find anther woman. And that was when I was having some personal challenges. According to her, they ended the sexual relationship in the camp. That she is sorry and all that. I didn't really expect that attitude from her as she seem to look responsible and Godlily. I was just disappointed even though I pretended like everything is well. And I was also thinking she had the courage to tell me the true.

Now I have to make my decision, but needs a matured advise and guidance from a mature mind please.

Do think I should continue my marriage plan with her?

Pease what do you advise I do?

Thanks in advance.
I think you have your answer already.

You are in love and are in a raging battle as to whether to go on or not.

Dude, that feeling you are having, that pain and heartbreak you feel, that sense of loss you are trying to dodge, they will fade away with time. You won't even remember what it feels like to love her.

I will tell you point blank.

Dump her. She is going to do it again and again and again. And you won't know.

Dump her and heal. You will heal. And you will be grateful you did.

Funny you, try checking the liquidity on a game outside the big leagues or weekdays. There are even certain Asian handicap markets that Betfair doesn't offer. As I type this the highest matched bet on Vietnamese league match odd for games that will start in 1 hour 18 minutes is just $456. Take your time and explore better, you will see things for yourself.
Check again when it's live

Looking at a game pre-match and looking at it live are 2 very different things.

Also if you can check the ladder, I'm pretty sure you'll find some nice and tidy sum waiting at various points on the ladder to be matched.

Liquidity is only a factor for traders like us. How quickly are we able to get in and out?

For bookies that's not the goal. It's essentially a hedge for them.

A bookie does not need to be matched pre-match. That's the whole point of the overound.

If the market goes against them, the hedge kicks in. If it goes in their favour, the hedge stake does not get matched and they win on the takings from the punter based on all overounds.

By the way, how are you able to access Betfair? VPN or Broker...or you're in Diaspora

Don't forget there is 5% - 7% charge for every winning on betfair. And most times liquidity is a major issue in getting your bets matched at your specified odds.
Liquidity an issue on betfair?

You don't know what you're saying. If you mentioned other smaller exchanges like Smarkets and Matchbook, I can understand.

But Betfair? In a game like Football? No....I don't agree with you. I disagree with anger.

5%-7% is not a problem. That will already have been factored into overround.
SportsRe: The Game Of Betting Is Rigged by princefunm: 2:16pm On Dec 26, 2023
Sapeleboy911:
If you say rigged in terms of bookies having an unfair advantage against bettors I will say YES. But if in terms of players, coaches, and management making decisions to favor bookies I will say NO to that. My reasons for saying NO are

1) Bookies like bet365, and bet9ja in the true sense don't know the true outcome of a game that is yet to be played. Although they may have the undue advantage of getting information on team status like injuries, benched players, etc. Before such information will get to the general public. As such they might have adjusted their odds for even greater profit margins.

2)Bookies put a lot of things into consideration before offering an odd on a particular market. They are not in the business of poverty alleviation programs. They have a huge overound in each market. For each bet you place on a soft bookie, they have a high profit margin of about 5-10% greedy Nigeria bookies can go as high as 20%. Whether you win or not, their profit is almost guaranteed. Forget about the team stats and analysis you made before making a bet. Believe me, they made x10 of such analysis before offering you such worthless odds. With that, they are almost guaranteed to WIN in the long run.

3)Although match-fixing still exists it remains a difficult terrain in big leagues. No elite player, coach, or team would want to risk their careers to match-fixing, because the cons far outweigh the pros.

With all said and done, can we say bookies know it all or are they unbeatable? The answer is a clear NO. They may make mistakes during odds compilation, have different opinions, slow to react to market movements or team news, and have book balancing issues, so their odds may be way above the average market odds. This is when advantaged bettors like arbers, and value bettors pounce on them. Because WINNERS are not welcome bookies will end up closing or restricting the accounts of such advantage bettors.
You are right in some way.

But this is not the big picture.

Let me break it down.

It doesn't matter the outcome of a match. WIN or LOSE...the bookie is guaranteed not to make a loss. They don't always win. But in a perfect system, they never lose. Perfect system, I say. Sometimes bookies get sloppy and leak out some advantages. But in the grand scheme of things, it only amounts to a chink.

Apart from bookies, there are services called exchanges. A very popular type is B>E>T>>FAI>>>R. You see this exchange is the most popular on Earth. Exchanges are about the best places to get the best odds. What bookies do is this: they take the odds offered by exchanges and skew it in their favour. They skew it so much that when a punter places a bet on their platform, all they need do is take a counter bet on the exchange. If the math is correctly done, they hedge off the punter's bet. On top of that, they are scheming off some of the punter's profits. On top of that, they earn commissions on the punters losing bets. So win or lose, there is a profit to be had.

In Nigeria, it is so bad, that people are addicted to accumulators like crack. And bookies love this. The more the games that are accumulated the more profits they stand to gain because as you rightly pointed out, it's an overround fest. That's why you see them advertising accumulators like mad.

The CBN does not need an accountant. We need an economist who knows how to graple with economic growth drivers. Those are the things that will make an impact on the economic situation in Nigeria.

All this Cardoso is coming to do is cook the books. Pandol for a headache caused by a festering gangrene
