FC Barcelona striker, Leo Messi came out all guns
blazing in a TV interview in which he denied
having ever tried to destabilize the club or ask for
coach Luis Enrique to be sacked.

The striker spoke to the club' s TV channel after
Barca' s 3-0 win in which he played a major role
by scoring one goal and helping set up the other
two for Neymar and Luis Suarez, brought a
difficult week to an end.


In the wake of the previous week' s defeat to
Real Sociedad, Messi had been accused of asking
for coach Luis Enrique to be sacked and linked to
a possible move to England. The week also saw
Director of Sport, Andoni Zubizarreta sacked and
club President, Josep Maria Bartomeu call new
elections for the end of the season.


"I' m glad I can give my version of events," said
Messi. "I' ve had to listen to how I don' t get on
with a lot of people and I didn' t deny anything,
because it' s always been said I don' t get on
with people such as Pep Guariola, Bojan, Zlatan
Ibrahimovich and so on..."


"I did not say anything that people said I did. I
would never do that," insisted the striker, who
was angry that stories were being spread to harm
the club.



"There are people who want to cause us damage,
who throw this rubbish at us and the attacks
don' t come from Madrid, but from Barcelona and
that hurts."


"I am tired of all of the things that are being
commented, both before and now," he continued,
before ruling out a transfer from the club.


"I have no intention of going anywhere, neither to
Chelsea nor to Manchester City. Everything that
has been said is a lie and I want people to know
that everything that was said is false," insisted
Messi on Barca TV.

Fernando Torres made a winning return to
Atletico Madrid as his side beat Real Madrid 2-0
in the first leg of their last-16 tie in the Copa del
Rey.

A crowd of 46,800 watched as the former
Liverpool and Chelsea striker returned to the club
where he began his career.

A penalty from Atletico's Raul Garcia, after he
had been fouled, and Jose Maria Gimenez's
header sealed the win.

However, Torres struggled to make an impact,
had no shots on target and was substituted after
59 minutes.
