The average turnaround time for getting a response for CSE is 10 business days.

Send a mail to CPC-CTD-Ottawa@cic.gc.ca and Accra urgently asking for a change in visa office stating that you are presently based in Canada. You can also try calling +1 (888) 242-2100 since you are in Canada or +1 (613) 960-1000(from Outside Canada)

Congrats on your PPR

Thank you for your response.

Hello house, I have a question and I hope someone can provide some answers.
I received a request from Accra office to submit my passport, photograph and PR fee within 15 days.
I applied for PR from Nigeria, was directed to submit to Halifax. File was transferred to Accra and have continued to be processed by Accra. I also applied for a work permit, which I have been using to work in Canada. It did not state in my letter where to send the document, but it was sent from Accra immigration office.
Anyway, I am not sure where to send my document. I was hoping that I can submit it to Ottawa since I live in Canada. I have been trying to call CIC but cannot get through. I have sent a web form but I am yet to receive a response. Has anybody been in this situation? Where should I send my document to?
Thanks

Hola, I'm planning to come study in Vancouver, how is the standard of living there pls? Plus are there jobs available?
Thanks
Anybody can live in Vancouver. It depends on what part of Vancouver you want to live in. Also, you can find jobs if you seek, depending on what you want to do. Nothing is impossible.

For those that have submitted additional documents requested by CIC for Permanent Residency application (paper application to Sydney Nova Scotia transferred to Accra), how did you send them?
Mail?
Fax?
Email? What's the email address?
ETC
I need your response. Medical has also been requested. The last medical I did for work permit application is still within 12 months validity. Can I still use it?
Thanks

Education / WAEC Verification By WES by Principessa0: 1:12am On Apr 08, 2017
Good day all,
I'm not sure about the best section to place this inquiry, hence, I've decided to leave it here hoping to get a response. I need to get my WAEC certificate sent from WAEC to World Education Service (WES). WES has received other transcripts and is awaiting document from WAEC.
Although I have completed four years of post secondary education, WES is still requesting verification of my WAEC.

I understand from reading previous posts here that I have to go to WAEC office in Yaba to do this. I am not in Nigeria currently. Can I send someone to do this on my behalf? Is it acceptable? What document do I need to submit? etc. There is no comprehensive information on WAEC website about this (which is weird). Can someone who has done this please give me information concerning this.

Also, I started the WES verification process for Canada immigration purpose (EE), but I don't need it for that any more because I have relocated already without the verification. Now, I am looking to complete the process to further my studies at a university next year. Can I still use the same order or do I have to start the process all over selecting "Education (Student)" as purpose for the order?

Please if you have any information, please share.
Thanks in Advance

Hello guys,
I'm very sorry for being "silent" for the past months since I received my Work permit. I was busy adjusting to work and the staying warm. What's the update? I will be happy to answer questions on here that I can. Ruth222 any news yet?

I have received Passport Request on Monday. I have also submitted.
LMIA-Exempt Work Permit Application submitted online in April 2016, Medical call in October. Passport Request in November. I hope this can help everyone figure out how long to wait.
I think the CIC are really flooded with applications. They are working really hard. Patience is the way to go. Just be patient. Thank you all and I wish you goodluck.

You know very little about what you are talking about judging by few of your posts i have read since yesterday.

Please stop duplicating threads and search this section before starting a new thread.

Well, you may be right that I know very little about anything but I am always willing to learn more. More than one person has agreed that the other threads did not meet the need for work permit applicants.

I believe that Nairaland is a place to share information with other people and learn from them as well. There is no fast rule that says that I must come here to post before I get my work permit and subsequently permanent residency. I believe there might be people who might benefit from that information.

I am waiting for Passport request. If by end of next week and I didn't get an email from them I will have to do as you said, get my employer to contact the MP. It is exactly 32 weeks since my application.

why does work permit proocessing time keep increasing every week. its now 17weeks

I think the processing time on CIC website (now 17 weeks) is referring to the time they start working on your file. Your file might be in queue for as long as possible. I wonder how many people people have applied for the queue to be so long! lol.

What is the difference between SOWP and open work permit?

Dear Justwise, it is unfortunate that you were so quick to close a thread started on this topic. I know you know a great deal about Canada visas however, not all visas fall under student visa which I believe you have become an expert. There are different types of work permits for working in Canada.
Here are some types that I know of:
SOWP: for spouses of people already in Canada
Open work permit: No restriction on jobs you can apply to and you are not a spouse.
Closed work permit: You need LMIA and must only work for a specific employer.
LMIA Exempt Work Permit: Mostly for people who have been nominated for Permanent residency in a Canadian Province but need a work permit to resume work before PR processing is complete. You are given a work permit letter along with your provincial nomination certificate.

There are some of us who may have a PR application in progress but also have a work permit application in progress. We cannot benefit from the information in the Visitors, Students (Travelling to Canada) and Federal Skill workers program. I have a PR in progress but it is not even under Federal Skill workers/Express Entry.

Anyway, I think this thread (SOWP) applicants is close enough to contain information that might be relevant to our case, though my Work permit is not SOWP. Please do not Close this thread!

Yes, I did. But I guess there's nothing much to do than to wait.

This thread is specifically for people who are neither applying for Visitors' Visa, Students Visa nor Permanent Residency.
We can discuss with each other here. I applied for Closed Work Permit in April 2016 and I am still waiting for it. It been 7 months (yeah, it says 15 weeks on CIC website, well that could be how long it takes to process your application once CIC starts processing. Processing has been very slow this yeah basically due to high number of applications and workload, but I am patient.....someday I will get it. I completed medical examination in October.

Thanks kisstaye . But this thread is for express entry and federal skilled workers . Mine is open work permit. Please is there anyone that applied this year for work permit? Thanks

I applied for work permit since April 2016. Still waiting. I think we need a thread strictly for Canada Work permit. Have you been called for medical yet?
