Odogwuskido: Not untill now, many of us don't know the bride price of a woman in ur place is #25 flat. So,it's a big advert. P.S: We are all proud of our root! Yeah right tho, but not everyone is proud of their root. Those that attack other tribes based on their customs or traditions cannot tell u their root so u won't tell them what they are known for. |

amicable09: 25 naira is still too much for bride price. It's less in my village. But the list is long sha (front and back )
And did you say anything you WISH to buy for the parents is solely from your heart ? Mmmh, then it is either the men marrying the ladies are from your village or you've not witnessed one where the man if from 'away'.
The farther away the groom's village, the tougher it is to give their daughter out. I feel it is to scare the men but it's nothing.
It is actually negotiable. Unless her father doesn't want to release her, if not, he can talk the elders into accepting what his in laws have brought. And did you say anything you WISH to buy for the parents is solely from your heart ? The farther away the groom's village, the tougher it is to give their daughter out. I feel it is to scare the men but it's nothing. I don't understand what u mean by that? Are u actually telling me I don't know the customs and tradition of my own village? Or I don't know what marriage list contains? I used my village as an example because I don't want unnecessary arguments from some people on Nairaland because they can argue for Africa. Make ur inquiries and come back here, then quote me with the list. We don't set our traditions based on where u come from. It is not meant for a particular tribe, village, far or near. Tradition is tradition. If that's how u do in Ur village, it's not same in my place. |

Like seriously? I'm still proud of my village ARONDIZUOGU anytime anyday . Bride price is still 25naira till tomorrow, then the list won't cost u more than 150k(plus and minus) but maybe because of recession, prices of stuff in d market go dare (Ask anyone from Izuogu). Anything u wish to buy for the parents is solely from Ur heart and its not included in d list. Piercedclit: All this things na guide. No be say the quantity must equal what is on the list. E.g if 100 tubers of yam is on the list, you can buy 40 or 50, same with the other things. E be like say none of una don dey where dem dey pay woman bride price. E be like inside market. I don't think it's true because one part of Mbaise that we went for traditional marriage, there were issues from their Ụmụnna claiming that d list isn't complete. They made so much trouble and insisted that the man should present everything, d groom nearly abandoned the whole thing. It was God's intervention that d case was settled. The bride was just crying because of the way those wicked elders messed her marriage up. Mod: So a lot of people mentioned me and were saying some stuff about juju! Lol! Calabar and Akwa Ibom have their own masquerade festival, Yorubas have their own masquerade festival and they have what they call it. Our own is "Ikeji" and its our own masquerade carnival! It's our Culture! It's our Heritage! I'm proud of my Culture! I'm proud of my root! I'm proud to be Adamazi! |

See these ignorant ones commenting nonsense up there ^^^^^... So because they are actresses, they shouldn't play around or have fun? Someone said JJC, Unkul wee u keep kwayiet! These people spend more time abroad than in Nigeria. The funny part is that it's those ones that haven't entered local flights that will be busy typing rubbish. For the fact that they play in d snow doesn't make them JJC or haven't seen snow befoe. I remember when Mercy Johnson, Genevieve, Omotola etc played in d snow and posted the pictures, maybe they are also JJC. Worry about Ur life and let people have fun how they wish. Unike1: I would have loved to let this slide without having to make a comment but permit me to say this because I understand how both parties feel.
Should you go through @ Samakus' post, you would see he's a humble guy that has never had any verbal confrontation with anyone on this thread despite the assistance he renders through his job posts. It sometimes baffles me how we interpret simple jokes and get furious especially when you don't have a personal beef with the person involved. @ Priscaoge, you were so blunt and went overboard with your choice of words. I doubt you've read through his previous post to see how polite he is with his comments. I've taken time to go through the post that got you all cranky and matched it with yours all I can say is you're just so outspoken and rude. I'm sorry to say. It's a faceless platform no doubt but we shouldn't hide under this fact and say all sorts. He apologised, yet you rebuffed him. Common! Who does that . @Samakus, I don't know you in person, but I must say I'm so sorry about this. Don't take her words to heart, it doesn't define who you are. God bless you. Wow clap for Urself Mr Judge! U didn't take Ur time to read what brought about d convo but u had time to write that epistle? Because he post vacancies now he is Ur mini god that no one should tell his sins to his face? Really? U must be smart! Yes it's a faceless forum, that doesn't mean u and Ur hero is smarter or more intelligent than others. And from Ur conclusion I was rude because I told him the truth to his face? Wow! For a minute I thought u have sense. I asked him a simple question nicely with "Pls" and he answered me rudely, and that's Ur definition of him been polite? I'm sorry to say this, U sound so pathetic. If someone had quoted him and said "My question is dumb, blablablabla" he would have hyped it because that's how u all behave on here, always acting "Mr Know it all". If u don't know what brought about the issue, why don't u shove Ur judgement and mind Ur business and stop acting like someone employed u to judge? This is one reason why I don't comment on Nairaland, we have lots of people that behave like a jerk, showing the are smarter than others. U jumped from nowhere to lecture me, biko face ur front Bro! TRUTH IS ALWAYS BITTER that's why u can't swallow my comment. Stop been biased, no one is paying u for that. Call a spade a spade. |

Hardtalkjoe: ARONDIZUOGU, BAD ROAD, NO ELECTRICITY, NO WATER, NO GOVERNMENT PRESENCE. HOW DID WE GET HERE? MAYBE SOME SELF HELP WILL DO. ARONDIZUOGU HA A BEEN REMOVED FROM THE NIGERIAN MAP, EVEN GOOGLE CAN'T FIND IT. THESE PEOPLE NEED HELP ROCHAS AND BUHARI. THE ROAD THAT TRAVERSED BETWEEN OKIGWE THRU ARONDIZUOGU AND AKOKWA HAS BEEN BAD FOR OVER 25 YEARS. ARONDIZUOGU NEEDS HELP OK u must be Nwamazi or Adamazi! Thank U for this comment! People that don't know IMO STATE will always come here to praise his Eye service stuff he put out to confuse them. Nothing excites me in his administration. He can't even do anything in d rural areas. His home communities are been washed off by erosion. Arondizuogu, Osina, Akpulu, Obodoukwu to mention but are few lives in d 70's. U cannot see a functional Transformer, no road, no hospital, not even a Health Centre, no good schools, nothing. People travel all the way from the village to Owerri for proper medical attention. I laugh at some people's ignorance. They allow political parties to cloud their sense of reasoning. The poor are getting poorer by d day. |
