PoliticsWhat A Soldier Man Said At Oshodi Yesterday. by privatetisa(op): 3:59pm On Feb 26, 2015
As I was passing through the scene yesterday evening raising up my hands as everyone else did, a soldier who was walking along the road with us said: "... you people don't know your right now. Your PVC is your power. Use it to vote for the person that can secure you ......."
Obviously, he was saying, we should vote out GEJ who has failed to secure Nigerians. And that we should vote for Buhari who he believed would be able to protect lives and properties of Nigerians.
Besides him, I know quite a lot of military men - officers and soldiers, in-service and retired, who 'hate' GEJ more than 'poo'.
The truth is that it's only the top brass of the military that may be supporting GEJ. They are the ones that have benefitted and are still benefitting by way of corruption from the war against insurgency. The soldiers and officers that are at the forefront of the war know better. They and their colleagues in the various barracks nationwide know that if not for GEJ and his cohort generals, the ever gallant Nigerian military would have wiped off the so-called Boko Haram insurgents a long time ago without much ado. Ask any military man, especially, the junior ones - who actually are in the majority, about GEJ and hear what he or she will tell you. So far you are very close to him. You will be suprised about the level of contempt for him among them. The only problem for them is that by virtue of their professional ethics, they dare not show their contempt for him publicly. But they are tired. It's only among this set of Nigerians that I have seen an overwhelming, non-tribalistic support for GMB. It's a pity they can't vote. But I tell you, they are privately telling those of us that are their family and friends to massively vote for GMB. They said they are tired of dying like chickens in the hands of Boko Haram. They said that there is more to Boko Haram than we the masses know. They said a lot that will make us really flabbergasted will be revealed after the exit of GEJ from Aso Rock.
My keen observation is that it's the Ibos that are mainly supporting GEJ in Nigeria today. Many of them feel that the Yorubas and the Hausas have always conspired to sideline them.
Suprisingly though, quite a number of people from GEJ's SS don't like him. They want him out come March 28. But the SE people don't want to hear of it. I realy hate being or sounding tribalistic, but I have no choice this time around.
Nigerians, put tribalism aside and collectively save the destiny of your country.
Me, I tell you o. The remaining dey your hand.
CrimeWhy Is Lagos Being Unpeaceful Now? by privatetisa(op): 3:48pm On Feb 26, 2015
Another angle of view to the Oshodi crisis is this: could it be possible that the controversial AIG Mbu knows about the crisis? Is it possible that the reason why he was brought to the strategic Lagos at this crucial period is to facilitate turmoil as a mean to their desired end? Hnmm! I dey wonder o. Don't forget that some people mentioned the Police in the issues that led to the crisis.
Oh! Lagos that have been relatively very peaceful for more than eight years now. When last did we hear these street urchins fighting - to this extent for that matter?

PoliticsA Clarion Call To All Nigerians! by privatetisa(op): 4:16pm On Feb 10, 2015
Change is the most common feature in the entire uuniverse. Continuity is a very temporary phenomenon in the universe. We have continued long enough with the PDP. It's high time we had the long overdue change in Nigeria.
This is another opportunity that we shouldn't miss in this country again. We had missed many good opportunities of having or retaining good leaders in the past. These were people that would have turned the lot of this country around for good - especially for we the masses. We shouldn't forget how the few elites who wanted (and still want) to keep the masses of Nigeria perpetually poor, disillusioned and subjected to them denied us of Murtala, Awolowo, Buhari/Idiagbon, Abiola, Fawehinmi and many other masses-oriented leaders in the past.
The masses of Nigeria, let's not be deceived again. God won't come down to better this country for us. It is the 'good' people he had constantly brought our way that he intends to use to better our lot. All the prayers you have been praying in your churches, mosques, shrines, synagogues, etc, have always been answered with the good leaders he has never failed to bring your way. But a section of the country is bent on stopping the process of bettering our lot in this part of the world. Wake up my people. Nigerian masses, wise up. Stop being deceived. Stop being lured into deeper and deeper suffering and abject poverty. Your God will only provide the way for you. He won't carry your legs to walk the path. Because you are a being with consciousness and freewill.
The Israelites prayed for a deliverer. But when they had one in Moses, they rejected him saying he was a murderer, a stammerer, a vagabond, a runaway and the likes. But thank goodness for them, they never allowed the golden opportunity to pass them by.
Peter rejected Cornelius saying he belonged to the unclean race. He did know that his God used whatever he liked.
I have always known that it's the same cabal that has been keeping us down that our God will use to liberate us. I have always believed that a day will come when their camp will be thrown into disarray and they will on their own install a leader that will liberate the masses of Nigeria - without them realising what they are doing until we have been set free. Your remember the Pharaoh and the Israelites?
WE NEED THIS CHANGE RIGHT AWAY. It's another golden opportunity that we shouldn't allow to pass us by again.
The whole world look onto us to effect this change. It's only that they can't openly show their interest in that regard. But their body language really suggests that. America has been avoiding Nigeria like an Ebola patient for about three years now. They stopped buying our fuel; yet, they are still buying from some African countries, for example, Angola. They refused to help with the Chibok girls. They are blocking us from purchasing weapons to fight the insurgency. And you don't believe that there is more to it? This same America is very much interested in our elections. What do you think the reason is? Think!
Everybody all over the world wants Nigeria to experience this change. Ordinarily, the west won't support a radical like Buhari to preside over a strategic nation like Nigeria. But the overriding need for this change surpasses their sentiment.
COME MARCH 28, LET'S ALL GO OUT AND PEACEFULLY VOTE FOR THE CHANGE THAT OUR COUNTRY NEEDS. VOTE FOR BUHARI. VOTE FOR THE BETTERMENT OF OUR LOT.
Forget tribalism! Set aside religious sentiment! Embrace this onset of a sincere and certain ride to an all- inclusive, prosperous Nigeria.
Please rebroadcast to as many as you can and be a part of the movement to a better Nigeria for us all. Thanks a great deal as you join this historic train. - DeProf.

I have successfully registered with freelancer.com. And I have tried bidding for one editorial project. But I stopped trying to bid because I have one unresolved issue at hand: I couldn't successfully register with Payoneer. After filling all the required info about myself on their site, the site has continually disallowed me from submitting the filled 4-page form. The 'ORDER' icon at the end of the registration form has not been coming on for me to click and submit the form. Can anyone here please help me out? I will be really appreciative. Thanks!

Ladywriter, well done. Frankly speaking, you deserve a national award! The others here who have been as magnanimous as Ladywriter, I salute you also.
I have been following Ladywriter's threads for sometime now - if not for more than a year. Actually, from the days of her previous thread.
I would have joined the freelance train if not for the fact that I have been busy with my traditional occupation s - teaching and offline academic writing. Even though I have taught the sciences and mathematics for over 17 years in secondary schools in Nigeria and I have over 30 academic publications to my credit, I'm still as poor as the church rat. I have tried freelancing online some years back but I didn't make headway.
Ladywriter, thank you so much for the priceless info you constantly make available to us here. May eternal goodness be yours.

@ more fire, I now see that you don't know what you are talking about at all. But I wonder what you intend to gain by so doing.
The university's management and the students may have been in the negotiation table for than than a year, but I'm authoritatively restating it that it was around 12 noon today that the VC announced the unbanning.
Please, stop peddling lies here. Abeg!
I have created this thread to possibly instigate an intellectual 'jaw-jaw', suggestions and historical facts about effective students unionism.

Exactly ten years later, Unilag formally unbans student unionism this morning. Congratulations!
Just about now, the VC, Unilag, announced formally the unbanning of student unionism in the lagoon-side ivory tower.
He made the announcement during the 2014/5 matriculation ceremony.
He said the Dean, Students' Affairs Division, will immediately begin the preparation towards electing the union's exco members.
He went ahead to warn students about the need to absolutely avoid anything that can lead to banning the union again in the university - such as the one that warranted the university's authority to expel some students in the university and then went ahead to ban unionism.
I think this action of the school's management will make the VC, Prof Rahman A. Bello more popular among the students; this possibly not being the case before now.

Dating And Meet-up ZoneRe: Seun Osewa Will You Marry Me? by privatetisa(m): 7:32am On Aug 15, 2014
As boys/men fall in love because of the outer beauty of women, the latter on the other hand, fall for men because of their achievement/possession.
The young lady strongly believes that Seun is a great achiever and she has totally fallen in love with him to the extent that she's ready to die to get him. That's the power of love. But it's a pity its love only for the outer person of Seun - his 'perceived' achievement.
What I just want this lady to understand is that as she likes good things, all other ladies also do. So, those ladies who are closer to him, for example those working with/for him, would 've been rolling on their heads to get him.
But sha o, the soup wey sweet, na money (hardwork, smartness & proficiency) kill am o.
