Aloy_Emeka:When the political contest is between members of same religion but of different ethnic stock, ethnicity becomes the tool, otherwise, Religion is the strongest especially on the National level. |
3 million Naira? I can't believe any sane human being will carry such a large amount when he/she is aware of the spate of Armed Robbery especially in Abia State. Does the NUJ give their journalist that much travel allowance? wales:They collected all they had, including wristwatches and laptops yet Mr Oba was able to keep track of time. Brilliant Journalist! I guess he used the position of the moon to know the time. wales:Lets differentiate between a 30 year old and a twenty something year old. The boys weren't wearing masks. They must be bloody numskulls. |
@Beaf, Stop misleading people with the topic of the thread. |
Ovie Omo-Agege is one of Ibori's boy. He is a former commissioner and a close ally of Uduaghan/Ibori. During the 2007 primaries he contested ( or wanted to constest) against Uduaghan ans was compensated with the position of the Delta SSG for a few months. Dr Ifeanyi Okowa did the same thing and was also compensated. He is now turning against Uduaghan because the EFCC and the FG have supposedly rendered Ibori powerless. The Anioma people should stop deceiving themselves as Omo-Agege, if he wins, will definitely go for a second term thereby elongating the tenure of delta central senatorial district. The best and wise thing to do is to support Uduaghan or any other Delta South candidate so that they can have a Delta North governor come 2015. The Urhobos of Delta State are like the Hausa/Fulani of Nigeria. They believe leadership is their birthright because of their population. |
I still haven't seen comments from Kobojunkie. Cross Rivers state is known today as Nigeria's tourism destination because of the light in which its government and Inhabitants painted it. Lets not allow the many negatives overshadow the positives. xterra2:No matter what wrong your father does, you can never refer to him in such terms. |
otondo55:If we continue making this kind of comparism we will never move forward. |
I remember asking a corps member who bought a fairly used laptop after his service year how he did it. His response was "If you want to save money, you can. No matter how much you earn." This corps member was earning about 9700 monthly (He served in Kano). The truth is 17000 is more than enough for workers in some states of the federation. You can't peg down a minimum wage using the cost of living of the most expensive state as a basis. We practice federalism in Nigeria and as such it will be unwise to pay every public worker the same minimum. I know I have advanced the argument to the state vs FG minimum, but I think the idea of a definite FG minimum wage should not be misconstrued to mean a living wage for public workers. If FG begins to talk about mass retrenchment we will start complaining. The government cannot pay 52k minimum and maintain its overbloated workforce. 17000 minimum is OK for ghost/unproductive workers. |
Where is kobojunkie? |
@oyb Pleeeeease leave Beaf alone. Stop derailing every thread. @Beaf Must you respond to every verbal attack. |
Paul the Octopus, |
AC is almost non-existent in the North. The northern talakawas cast their votes mainly by Ranka ya da de. This is where money will do the talking. GEJ and his northern backers can use the EFCC and state power to whip any stubborn Northerner into line. Rigging aside, PDP will defeat AC in states like Kaduna, Plateau, Katsina and Kwara (don't even think about it- Saraki still has his stronghold abi na strangle hold) anytime, anyday. Again, Buhari will never support a Ribadu candidacy- He will rather contest under another platform. That leaves the supposedly united north divided. Shekarau may not leave his beloved ANPP for AC. In essence, on a national level, PDP will always defeat AC. I really don't like predicting the course of 9ja politics cos it is the more you look, the less you see. |
Funmi, Are you trying to depose Aloy+Emeka? |
This is my first time of seeing a breakdown of any proposed government expenditure. We should be happy that someone is now willing to give us reasons to ask questions. Nigerians should push for the passage of the Freedom of Information bill. That is the only way we can criticise and/ or understand government's actions. BTW, I don't think spending 10 billion dollars (abt US $65m) is too much to celebrate a nation's 50 years anniversary. My opinion. |
@ Jarus, Forget all this political permutations. There is no way Ribadu will win an election in Nigeria. Do you think Atiku and other northern political criminals will fold their arms and allow Obasanjo's lap dog rule over them? Do you think the North-West (Yar' Adua's kinsmen) will vote the man who wants the world to believe their son ( UMYA) was after him? Do you think the south-easterners are comfortable with being on-lookers in Nigeria's political game? I can assure you they will vote Jonathan/PDP and/or APGA 95%. AC is a regional party- Tinubu's property. PDP remains the biggest and most focused party in Nigeria, rigging or no rigging. |
Now that Lagerback is set to lose his job, he should come out clean to tell us how hw got the job. I strongly believe some NFF members take a slice off that 50million per month cake they handed him. The Federal ministry of health should advise EFCC to move into Glass house to forestall giving Nigerians heart attack in 2014. |
I hate NFF I hate PDP I hate NPF I hate NCS I hate FIFA In short, I hate Nairaland. ![]() |
