Nairaland General › 16 Strange Facts About Abraham Lincoln & John F. Kennedy by Prodigee(op): 8:46pm On Jan 09, 2014*. Modified: 9:02pm On Jan 09, 2014 |
Came across these shocking coincidences between the two former U.S presidents... So Did You Know? That: 1. Abraham Lincoln was elected to Congress in 1846. John F. Kennedy was elected to Congress in 1946. 2. Abraham Lincoln was elected President in 1860. John F. Kennedy was elected President in 1960. 3. Both were particularly concerned with civil rights. 4. Both Presidents' wives lost a child while living in the White House. 5. Both Presidents were shot on a Friday. 6. Both Presidents were shot in the head. Now It Gets Really Weird: 7. Lincoln's secretary was named Kennedy. Kennedy's Secretary was named Lincoln. 8. Both were assassinated by Southerners. 9. Both were succeeded by Southerners named Johnson. 10. Andrew Johnson, who succeeded Lincoln, was born in 1808. Lyndon Johnson, who succeeded Kennedy, was born in 1908. 11. John Wilkes Booth, who assassinated Lincoln, was born in 1839. Lee Harvey Oswald, who assassinated Kennedy, was born in 1939. 12. Both assassins were known by their three names. Both names are composed of fifteen letters. Now Hang On To Your Seat: 13. Lincoln was shot at the theater named "Ford." Kennedy was shot in a car called "Lincoln" made by "Ford." 14. Booth and Oswald were assassinated before their trials. And Here's The Kicker: 15. A week before Lincoln was shot, he was in Monroe, Maryland. A week before Kennedy was shot, he was with Marilyn Monroe. AND...................: 16. Lincoln was shot in a theater and the assassin ran to a warehouse. Kennedy was shot from a warehouse and the assassin ran to a theater. Source: facebook |

Some people are so clueless. The OP made his own list and some dafters are saying the list is rubbish. First of all the list is the OP's list; secondly every commentor should simply list out his/her own list. #Shikena |

Nairaland General › Bible App For Real Bible A Sin? by Prodigee(op): 1:52pm On Jan 06, 2014 |
I have noticed the new trend of people carrying there devices (tabs, smartphones, mobiles) with bible application in them to religious outings rather than the actual bible...and this has got me thinking is it proper or right to substitute such devices for the bible? Is it a sin? Because i have seen some pastors use them too. So is it sinful? |

AncientJerk: this sounds so ridiculous to me. shows that the writer is a novice. if indeed it takes very little time to know if a player is good then is it necessary to invite them to play or can that not be achieved by watching them play for their clubs? its like some funny people seem to think that they suddenly have more football knowledge than the man that has guided the national team to continental success and is set to lead us to the worlds biggest football event. do you really think that the last few friendlies will be spent calling up and trying out all sorts of players who have played no part in/of the current squad in the Nations cup, confederations cup and even friendlies? whats wrong with this guy and others who are supporting him?? you guys must be having a laugh for real.what a joke. So u had to quote the whole thing to comment?! U are the real novice! |

TV/Movies › Fresh Prince Of Bel Air's 'uncle Phil', James Avery Dies Aged 65 by Prodigee(op): 2:16pm On Jan 02, 2014 |
James Avery, the actor most famous for his role as the judge "Uncle Phil" Banks in The Fresh Prince of Bel Air, has died, according to reports. He was 65 years old. Avery's publicist, Cynthia Snyder, told the Associated Press that he died in Glendale, California, yesterday following complications from open heart surgery. Alfonso Ribeiro, who played Banks' son, Carlton, in the show, tweeted: "I'm deeply saddened to say that James Avery has passed away. He was a second father to me. I will miss him greatly." Avery's stern patriarch often clashed with a young Will Smith's cool teenage protagonist in the popular US show from the 1990s. The sitcom, which aired on NBC from 1990 to 1996, was set in the Banks' mansion, to which Smith's character was sent from Philadelphia when things got tough in his own neighborhood. Fans came to know the imposing Banks as Uncle Phil. Avery liked to say that the way to be an actor was to act, and he had a busy and diverse career before, during and after Fresh Prince. His TV credits included Grey's Anatomy, NYPD Blue and Dallas, and among his many films were Fletch, Nightflyers and 8 Million Ways to Die. His voice alone brought him many jobs, notably as Shredder in the animated TV series Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. According to Ms Snyder, he will be seen in the film Wish I Was Here, directed by Zach Braff and scheduled to premiere later this month at the Sundance festival. Avery grew up in Atlantic City, New Jersey, and served in the navy in Vietnam in the late 1960s. After returning to the States, he settled in California and studied drama and literature at the University of California at San Diego. He is survived by his wife, Barbara, and stepson, Kevin Waters. http://www.independent.co.uk/news/people/news/james-avery-dead-at-65-actor-was-most-famous-as-uncle-phil-in-the-fresh-prince-of-bel-air-9033023.html
