God knows I've had enough disgrace and shame from this worthless brand called Nigeria. Pls can someone provide steps on how to denounce this useless country and take up another country's nationality? I have been struggling to come to terms with a globally infamous rogue as president. Only to hear that a minister of aviation called Hadi Sariki, went to Ethiopia, begged them to release one of their aircrafts from their large fleet. He then repainted the aircraft, brought it to Nigeria and they called for national celebration that Nigeria airways has commenced operation. Days after, they quitely returned the aircraft to the owners i.e Ethiopian government via Ethiopian airlines. Only God knows how much they paid the Ethiopians for this world record scam. Then pocketed millions of dollars themselves!!! The criminals that did this are somewhere now happy, contented and lavishly spending the millions of dollars they scammed Nigeria. Guess what? They will never be prosecuted!!! If you're not ashamed of Nigeria or being associated with this rogue country then you're not a normal human being. You lack basic decency and decorum! Since I heard this news, I have been feeling so bad. God knows we don't deserve this disgrace these criminals are bringing upon us everyday. If I see a way, I will denounce this country and take up another nationality, even if it's Ghana. Nigeria is nothing but the world's largest crime scene. |
Nigeria is a disgrace to blacks! Nigeria is a disgrace to Africa!! Nigeria is a disgusting country!!! I spit on all those who are bringing these monumental shame on us. Even Ghanaians will never tolerate such madness. Not even Kenya. No country worth being a country will accept this gross disgrace. |
Greediness!!! |
Benin situation is even manageable. I expect unprecedented protest in Abuja and Lagos any moment except they've chosen to die suffering. |
melonsgroup:Nigerians self, why all these sufferings?! These numbers subjected to such inhuman treatment is enough to start a revolution. |
abbakacici:God bless you for bringing that apt analogy using indomie! You see most of them attacking me here are Yorubas and they're giving all manner of excuses in support of this unjust pricing because it favours them. Let the tables turn now and you see them crying blue murder. I'm Igbo from the East and we have an adage that goes thus: emenyere nwogwugwu, emeyere nwa-anosike which literally means be fair to all. So, I feel bad seeing the severe consequences of dealing others in the North such insensitive and wicked economic blow! |
hakeemhakeem:Grow up and stop seeing everything from the angle of tribalism. Such primitive mindset is why Nigeria has refused to develop optimally. You can't have something as crucial as fuel cheap in one part of Nigeria and costly in another part. |
WORLDPEACE:Point of correction, fuel doesn't originate from Lagos, rather Lagos is the point of entry. That also shows the faulty nature of Nigeria's so-called federalism because there are several other ports in the SS so why use only Lagos? Another point of correction, fuel destined for Lagos and other SW states can be easily taxed to bring their final price to equilibrium with others. This is how it can be done: Tankers conveying fuel to each of the 6 regions and Lagos should be painted in particular colors for easy identification. There should be a regulatory body monitoring these tankers effectively. Let's assume that tankers for Lagos are painted yellow, those for other SW states are green, those for SS are painted blue, those for NW white etc. Any tanker that is seen delivering products in any other regions apart from its designated region would be heavily fined! For instance, once a yellow tanker is seen on the Lagos/Ibadan expressway heading to Oyo state, that's already a red flag! Police, road safety or other regulatory bodies has the right to stop them! Same goes for others. I hope those in the National assembly will see this idea I'm raising here and act on it. Allowing fuel to be cheap in SW and expensive in other parts of Nigeria will cause instability. |
olalat:Let's tell ourselves the truth for once, it will be grossly unfair to sell fuel 488 in Lagos and 500 in Ekiti but sell same fuel 557 in Maiduguiri and other parts of Nigeria! We all receive same minimum wage and would have to use same markets. So, by doing that, you have automatically made people in NE much poorer than those in SW by Fiat! This situation if allowed to take hold will cause serious instability. 57 lost in each litre would amount to hundreds of billions within months and its attendant job losses and impoverishment on those affected. You as a yorubaman will never accept that if you're at the receiving end so why do you want others to accept it? The way out is to tax fuel going to Lagos or other SW states more to bring the final cost at equilibrium with others. It becomes a win-win for all. |
KingOfIsoko1:Omo, the thing go funny die. Iyawo is the defacto vice president while Shettima is the ceremonial vice president ![]() Iyawo knows that her husband is brain dead so she must be by his side to avoid Shettima hijacking the presidency ![]() |
delkuf:Lol, Tinubu has no base. If he thinks he will behave like Buhari or even worse then I'm sorry for him. His end will be disastrous ![]() |
NapoleonHill:You are arrogantly daring Nigerians to do their worst? You are supporting Tinubu to corner billions of naira to the SW at the expense of other Nigerians? Don't worry, he exposed his hands too early. Maybe as the pharoah he is, God has sent Ahitophel to advise him so his end could come faster. |
I think the way out of this unfair situation is to do the following: 1. Raise tax on fuel bound for Lagos and other SW states to bring it to equilibrium with others. 2. Ensure that all other ports are viable and give ships going there tax rebates. Many of those talking crap don't even understand the dangers of having such lopsided differentials in fuel price across Nigeria. There will be increased influx of people into Lagos and the adjoining states leading to instability. Already, Lagos and its environ control over 70% of Nigeria's economy, the figure will even jump to 90% if this discriminatory price differences is allowed. |
Fmghewzy:I'm smarter than you and everyone in your household. So, take a back seat, kiddo. |
Maazieze:If point of entry is the reason, then SS has far more ports than SW. The question is, why is NNPC not using those ports to import fuel? They use policies to kill those ports and channel all maritime activity to Lagos then turn around and tell you that fuel should be cheaper in Ekiti than P.H? |
Larryton:There are more ports in SS than SW, or are you suggesting the government also made Lagos port the point of entry so that SW will benefit more at the expense of others? |
nairalanda1:I'm not against removing subsidy, I even supported removing it way back in 2012! However, what I hate is injustice. It's wickedness for people in Ekiti that does not know what crude oil looks like and many of them have not even seen a ship or ocean to pay 500 while Akwa Ibom and Delta that are major oil producing states and equally coastal will have to pay more ![]() ? Where is the justice in that![]() Are people in Delta and Akwa Ibom fools to you? Why would a minimum wage earner buy fuel at 500 in Ibadan and another minimum wage earner buys fuel at 557 in Maiduguiri, can't you see you've automatically made them poorer?! Is this how Tinubu want to transfer Nigeria's wealth to his people alone ![]() ? |
9jii:Look at this one. Do you even know the meaning of impersonation? You saw Proeast, yet you're saying gibberish about impersonation. Did I ever suggest or claim to be from North? Igbos are known to be fair to all, unlike selfish people like you that want Northerners to pay more for fuel while you pay less as a yorubaman. That's wickedness! |
OneTemplate:Are you okay? It was you yorubas that were against subsidy when fuel was even 65 naira! You guys attacked Jonathan over it and hauled all manner of insults to him, his wife and anything that identifies with them. Today, you've started supporting subsidy removal when the price of fuel is 240 and under a more corrupt government! Can't you see you and your people are terrible hypocrites!!!! |
OVB123:Lol, I just dey look the olodo. It seems they've set a trap for him already and he fell into it completely ![]() Did you say 2027? He won't even stay there till then if he doesn't reverse this nonsense immediately. |
smileyoo:What wrong impression? You're defending this gross injustice because you're a yorubaman and you think it benefits you. Minimum wage is uniform across Nigeria but fuel will be cheapest in SW?! Do you know the multiplier effect of having fuel cheap in the SW and expensive in other parts of Nigeria? That extra 57 naira on each litre would amount to hundreds of billions lost in other parts of Nigeria, particularly NE. It will lead to further job losses in those regions. Lead to things being more expensive there than in SW. It will also lead to massive relocation of people from the disadvantaged states to the SW. Are you willing to accept that huge influx? Won't you guys start feeling insecure as you're already doing with Igbos and Hausas? You can't pay same minimum wage and sell fuel cheaper in SW. Never! |
chidiokay:Another ridiculous comparison! North produces food, do you produce fuel in SW? If fuel should be cheaper anywhere in Nigeria, based on your jaundiced analogy, it should be SS! |
Odin13:These people can be very funny. Imagine trying to justify rubbish because it favours them. They think they're wise while other Nigerians are foolish. Imagine fuel cheaper in Ekiti state that has no drop of oil and also landlocked but more expensive in Delta and Akwa Ibom that are major oil producing states and also coastal ![]() ![]() Imagine selling fuel at 500 in Oyo state but 540 in Kano and 557 in Maiduguiri? Tinubu has truly proven already that he does not believe in one Nigeria. He wants to transfer Nigeria's wealth to his people completely. Imagine the audacity! |
LegendHero:Lol. By everybody you mean every Yoruba kwo? Tinubu has not lasted more than 24 hours yet he is already making other Nigerians poorer while transferring wealth to his people? Do you think other Nigerians are mumu to accept this nonsense?! |
LegendHero:Continue trying to be smart by half. Food is grown more in the North but is fuel gotten from the SW? So why using such ridiculous comparison? If fuel should be cheapest anywhere in Nigeria using your analogy, it should be in the SS! Just know that Nigerians are no fools and we won't accept such crass tribalism in government. |
Zxcvbnmghtr:You're 100% right. Obi will never be this unfair and insensitive! |
LegendHero:Stop trying to be smart, Nigerians are not fools either! Why will fuel be 500 per litre in Ekiti that is inland, and does not even have a litre of crude oil but 515 in Akwa Ibom that is a coastal state and major oil producing state too? How do you explain that?! |
LegendHero:Yorubaman, will you say the same thing if fuel is cheapest in other places and most costly in SW? You people should continue with your propaganda, Nigerians are watching! |
kettykings:He can't transfer Nigeria's wealth to his people alone at the expense of Hausas, Igbos, Tivs, Fulanis, Ibibios etc. This sort of bigotry was why Awolowo was never allowed to rule Nigeria. Anyways, let's watch and see. |
Zxcvbnmghtr:Proximity or not, it doesn't make sense! Nigerians in all regions have same minimum wage. Fuel is a basic necessity in Nigeria upon which other factors of production rely upon. When you give SW such unfair advantage, you make other regions less viable and less productive relative to SW. If this government want to favour only Yorubas against other Nigerians then he should be ready because Nigerians will collectively resist him! |
I just saw NNPC new list and it showed that fuel will be sold cheapest in the South West and most costly in the North. Why such wickedness? Is it because Tinubu is a Yoruba man and has decided to punish other Nigerians more? Is this what emilokan is all about? Already, three of the people he has employed to work for him are all Yorubas! I hope it's not what I'm thinking because Nigerians will collectively resist him and his bigotry. Below is the new price list from NNPC!
|
femisplash:Go and pardon your parents foolishness for inculcating hate in you. See who is talking, who dash monkey banana? Have you helped all your family members, friends and relatives before looking for Igbos to assist? A hateful person like you won't help others even if you're in a position to help. Elumelu ignored Otedola's childish tantrums because he is too big to start engaging in social media fight. Silence is the best answer for a fool and that's what Elumelu did! Hungry dolt claiming billionaire on nairaland. Get lost, dumbo. |
