richmond500:Lol, when the term SE/SS is used, there are cogent reasons for it. It's similar to the phrase Hausa/Fulani. The people of both regions are Christians and share similar worldviews. Again, there are significant percentage of Igbos/Igboid in SS. If SS and SE agree to use the term in cohesion, I don't see how it benefits Igbos alone. Talking about victims of war, I don't think the minorities suffered in isolation or were targeted by Igbos. That's not true. Many Igbos were also forcefully conscripted into the Biafran army when the war dragged on. It's similar to what is happening in Ukraine. Any country fighting a war will definitely forcefully conscript men if they realize that no one is voluntarily willing to join the army. Also, during any war, especially a bitter civil war like that of Biafra/Nigeria. Desperate measures are always taken against saboteurs. You will see public executions, shoot at sight, stoning to death and other violent acts against saboteurs. They do this as a deterrent to others. If they don't, many would become saboteurs just to survive or out of greed. As for SS indigenes liking SE, it has nothing to do with the civil war. The SS minorities have always been wary of Igbos because we are much more in number and also more enterprising in nature. It made minorities to feel insecure and threatened. There has always been cries of marginalization by minorities against Igbos even during the colonial times. You can Google about the Willinks commission. That commission was instituted by the British to look into the cries of marginalization by minorities but the report clearly stated that such was never the case. Igbos didn't marginalize minorities. Anyways, nature made it necessary for SE and SS to forge a common front. However, if SS minorities decide they don't want to align with Igbos, it wouldn't affect Igbos as you think. Rather it will affect SS more. SS people are not treated any better than Igbos in Nigeria. It's just that you accept your subjugation willingly while Igbos don't. Remember that when Igbos were killed in the North during the 1966 pogrom, many SS minorities were also victims. During 2023 election crises in Lagos, many SS minorities were also victims. We may easily understand differences between Igbo & Ibibio, or Igbo & Isoko but to an average Northerner, there is no difference. Same applies to Yorubas. If Igbos fair better in Nigeria, it will rub off positively on the SS minorities and vice versa! Again, your cities need Igbo investments to grow exponentially. Otherwise, you will just have infrastructure in place without much difference. The reason why ports in SS are not viable is primarily because of SS antagonism against Igbos. If there is unity of purpose, your ports would have been rivaling Lagos. Asaba is growing today basically on influx of Igbo investments. Compare Calabar to Owerri and you will see that investments pouring into the Owerri has made it to surpass Calabar and the gap will continue to widen. So, don't think Igbos need you more than you need them. |
But why would amotekun take laws into their hands? Instead of reporting to police, they went to attack the Hausa traders. Nigeria is gradually becoming a lawless soceity. If every militia group begin to go after other ethnic groups in their states, it will lead to anarchy. You took them unawares and attacked them in their business premesis, yet they still overcame the surprise attack and overpowered amotekun. Hausas can be very brave. Amotekun should be disbanded because they're not useful and is not backed by federal laws. |
Lol, police will still arrest members of those that already lost someone. The other time the so-called amotekun arrested some people and took them to police, their leader was shot and fataly wounded. The funny thing is that it was a fellow Yoruba policeman that shot him ![]() |
South Africa is the real giant of Africa. Nigeria just have ordinary population with 70% of them already starving. Elect a drug baron and see how the country will be relegated to the level of Gambia. |
Mr Alozie Nwala should tamper justice with mercy. Ijaws from Bayelsa shouldn't be maltreated or subjected to such inhuman treatment. I don't know why Wike likes abusing power. He just wants to intimidate ijaws. |
Buhari ruined Nigeria yet some buffoons still want a criminal drug lord to bury the left over. It will never be well with those supporting these criminals! |
ExAngel007:So, this old man is still giving his wife Belle at his age? This is so disgusting and primitive. This is what happens when all they think about is sex and food, no proper reasoning on how to move mankind forward. |
This is how Asian tigers emerged as great countries. By solving problems and creating wealth. Anambra and Abia states have the potentials to make Igboland the technology capital of Africa. |
You mean 20 billion was used to build that Musliu mechanic workshop they called airport? Nigerian politicians will never make heaven! GIG motor parks are more beautiful and more modern than Ekiti airport! Anyways, only 6 airports are commercially viable in Nigeria, they include Abuja, Lagos, Owerri, P.H, Kano and Enugu. |
Kikeslayer2:Common shut up that gutter you call mouth. Over 90% of what you call cities in SW are nothing but glorified slums. Igbos will continue working hard so they will collect even the little left with lazy buffoons. Before Igbos were investing all over Nigeria but now they're bringing those investments home. That's why even third level city in Anambra is now having facilities that your state capitals can only dream of. Primitive neanderthals! |
If it will require borrowing, then Alex Otti should borrow to fix Aba. If there is anyone who can manage resources then it should be Otti who understands economics and banking. He will also be using Obi as role model which will help bring prudence to his government. Julius Berger should handle the road contract. This axis of new Aba is very close to Owerri airport and also close to P.H. It is equally on a major thoroughfare. So, it will boost the image of Aba as a major city in Nigeria. |
Africa's biggest shopping mall should also be built in this axis via the private sector. This mall should either compliment Ariaria market. It's utterly disgusting seeing the way Ariaria market is. I dread going there myself and I know many others also share similar sentiments, but if the environment is decent and conducive many more people will come to Ariaria. Abia state GDP will double if these things are implemented. The city will also become a major economic zone in Nigeria. If anyone can get these things done, Alex Otti is that person! |
To me, Aba has the biggest potential in a post oil era. All it needs is a visionary leader to set the pace. The number of SME's in Aba is the biggest in Nigeria. SME's are what made China great. With the city's gas supply network and constant electricity along with big markets, Aba will become irresistible to investors. The Enyimba economic city that is being developed will also be a magnate for big industries. |
JagabanBorgu:Typical mgbati man. You keep writing in every thread that you're not yoruba even when nobody asked you. Continue deceiving yourself, yoruba man. |
MXrep:You don't know those people, they will prefer to suffer and die in silence than to speak out. That's why they've remained stagnated. Abakilike has left Ado Ekiti in the dust but instead of them to expose their incompetent governors, they keep quiet. Look at the rubbish they built in Ekiti and called it airport. Same is happening in Ogun and other states in SW. If you go to Agbara and ota axis, you will be shocked at terrible state of their roads. Aba roads are far better than what they have there yet Igbos spoke out and condemned Abia governors until the roads in Aba improved. The funny thing is that these same people even mocked Aba and Igbos for those bad roads. Aba is very similar to Agbara and Ota, in the sense that they're industrial cities and not state capital. Today, Aba has gotten the attention and focus it deserves and things have changed. That same mentality of covering evil is what is making them defend Tifnubu despite knowing he is extremely corrupt and a drug baron. Igbos never defended Rochas or Orji Kalu despite the fact they're not as bad as Tinubu. Their backward worldview is why their region will remain rusty. |
JagabanBorgu:Can you be bold enough to tell me your town? |
Since 1999, Abia state just elected their first reasonable governor. From what we see in the news, Otti has rightly prioritized Aba as the focal point of his administration. I want to remind him that he should build a multilane on the Aba portion of Enugu/P.H expressway. Let that axis be the new Aba business hub. From the new osisioma park to the flyover and down to P.H road intersection (another flyover ought to be built here) should have multiple lanes like that of P.H or Onitsha. Then get investors or counterpart funding to build an electric railway along it that will connect Aba to Umuahia (and in future link it with Enyimba economic city on that same axis). Aba will soon be the first major city in Nigeria to have 24/7 power supply via Geometric. So, it can also be the first to enjoy electric train connecting its two major cities. P.H would have been far less impressive without Aba multiple-lane road. Also, Onitsha would have been less impressive without the multiple-lane bridge head. Doing something similar to Aba will elevate the city as well. If Alex Otti can do these for Aba, he will be forever remembered. If Dave Umahi can achieve all he did in Ebonyi state with very little resources at his disposal then Alex Otti can do same in Abia state. |
erniok:Dangote has fuked them up. They put all their hopes on his refinery not knowing it can't be completed until 2025. Who knows they might even extend the date again to 2030 ![]() If Dangote is not careful, that refinery might end up as white elephant project. He is already paying 700 million as interest on loans and has continued to borrow endlessly. He has even exceeded his limit for borrowings yet completion date is not in sight! I don't see subsidy being removed, especially not when a questionable and unpopular government like that of Tinubu takes over. Obi might even contemplate it considering he still enjoys massive support and control of social media narrative. If Tinubu is inaugurated as president and he dares remove subsidy, his government will collapse within 6 months. |
If Dangote is too broke to fund the refinery and having exceeded his limit for borrowings, the sensible thing left is to sell some of his assets. He can sell Dangote cement Obajana or any other factory to raise funds. This idea of going to federal government for continuous bailout is rubbish. Especially when FG is borrowing money to give him. |
Hmnn. So, Nigerian government has been funding and even obtaining loans on behalf of Dangote's refinery? Even now, there is no assurance that it will be completed soon enough. Yet those promoting subsidy removal keep making reference to the refinery. Is it greediness or what? Why wouldn't Dangote build a smaller refinery and have it completed on time? He just want it to be referred as the single largest train refinery in the world. SMH. |
JagabanBorgu:Over 90% of SW Rusty towns don't have inner streets looking presentable like that. I have been to several of your towns and they're always an eyesore with dilapidated mud houses everywhere. |
Gucciblog:Nigeria's greatest politician alive and one of the greatest that ever lived. The drug baron is too dirty and criminal minded to be mentioned in the same page with Obi. |
MasterJayJay:The federal government even pays subsidy for other Discos except that of Aba. Geometric is not even owning anything near what other Discos are owing but they keep sanctioning Geometric. They're just envious that Aba is about to experience 24 hours power supply from independent sources. Rogue nation. |
mrvitalis:Don't say what you're not sure of, Emeka Offor has no business with TCN. Barth Nnaji has paid him off and they concluded on the handover of Aba ringed fence to Geometric. TCN is owned by federal government! |
Any big project that appears like it will bring development to the East, these treacherous demons will continue to fight against it. What did Igbos do to these people? Geometric paid a massive $26 million dollars just last February yet they decide to cut them off. Virtually all other Discos in Nigeria are owing, so why selectively punishing Geometric? It is this wickedness and envy against Igbos that has kept Nigeria in the doldrums. There is no way a country will turn envy and wickedness into a national ideology and still thrive. Never! |
MasterJayJay:Nigeria is a huge crime scene. They think they're doing Igbos but they're doing themselves. Igbos will continue to progress because the people are egalitarian while the envious ones will remain stagnant. Barth Nnaji should hasten and commission geometric fully so they can cut off completely from these demons. |
Jagungidi:Every available record shows that Peter Obi won the election. You can search for the YouTube video of Atedo Peterside interview on Arise TV. If you add Rivers to the states Obi won, he would be having 13 states, more than any other contestant. Then add the votes that were removed in Lagos and other states. You're dishonest if you are well informed about the election yet claim that Tinubu won. |
stuffs2002:You keep bringing Buhari and North into a discussion about Tinubu and INEC fraudulent election. Continue seeing them like deity to be worshipped. #slave mentality. |
