You dey mind the idiots? You want to increase federal workers salary by 40%. What about the informal sector where the overwhelming majority of Nigerians belong? Even the 40% increase on federal workers will soon become worthless because the informal sector they refused to help will help themselves. They will still have to buy fuel at 500 per litre and other things that will be affected. |
An ominous cloud is gathering over Nigeria. It appears like our recklessness as a nation has finally caught up with us. Sometime ago, it was predicted that there would be total government collapse in Nigeria and the effects will reverbrate beyond our borders. Except for the near anarchy during #endsars protests, Nigeria seem to have weathered the storm & we proved naysayers wrong. Or maybe we rolled out the drums too early. We just conducted an election that ended in a stalemate. The three contestants each claim to have won & are in court... The government has decided that subsidy must finally be removed. Unfortunately, it's about to happen at the worst possible time. A time when overwhelming percentage are struggling to survive. If fuel prices go beyond 500 naira per litre as expected with the removal, the country will shut down. Most workers salary won't be enough to support them. For the unemployed or even underemployed, they won't be able to function again. Nigerians are known for their thick skin and being able to tolerate grave sufferings. But, a combination of an illegitimate government & extreme suffering could trigger something that will shock the world. The tribunal could save the situation by giving a judgement that will sooth nerves, otherwise they will ignite a H-bomb. |
BigIyanga:Lol, the term poor is not well defined in Nigeria. If you're earning below 400k monthly, you will definitely be affected. Now, what percentage of Nigerians earn up to 400k? I tell you, they're less than 3% of the total population. In other words, over 95% of Nigerians will be affected!!! It's left for Nigerians to fight back now & live like normal human beings or remain docile and continue to exist as subhumans. People are already gnashing their teeth in excruciating poverty, then imagine what the situation will be when subsidy is removed. Tinubu is already condemned by providence. He won't rule over Nigeria because the forces of nature has conspired against him. If the tribunal fails to stop him then the prediction about government collapse in Nigeria and total chaos is about to occur. |
favor914:Neither is there anywhere it is written that you won't die before me. People younger and older than you have all died, so it could be you next. Better ask God to forgive you. When you support killers, drug barons and evil men, the repercussions would affect you one way or another. Karma has a way of repaying evil people in their own coins. |
MSGAMBLE9:You're such a dumb fellow. Most of you from the waste are just educated illitrates. The yardstick for measuring the size of any economy in the world is GDP, not IGR! Some countries or regions put less emphasis on tax while others focus on it. Dubai for example will have a relatively big GDP but small IGR because they don't extort taxes. Igbos are above you guys, both in wisdom and knowledge, so stop hating. The person you quoted have shown you global data yet you continue to live in your fool's paradise. |
computer0810:Me and myy family? No, he can't! But my ancestors? Yes, he is likely to join them soon! |
Lol, so things have become that terrible over there. The woman even looks like death already ![]() |
The drug baron and his men really think that Nigerians are fools. Amoda Ogunlere thinks Nigeria is now under his control. They have been promoting all manner of disgusting tribalism. Even trying to institutionalize primitive tribal supremacy in Nigeria. But I laugh at their foolishness. By the time the dust off the violence they instigated in Lagos settles, the state will be returned to the true indigenes and the primitive Invaders will have no choice than to return to their state of origin. The drug baron is hoping to rule Nigeria then install his son to rule Lagos. Thereby becoming a modern day emperor over Nigeria. With him in Abuja and his son in Lagos, who else can challenge him again till death and afterwards? The funny thing is that he thinks Hausas, Fulanis, Igbos and all other Nigerians are foolish not to see through his sick ambition. No, they're seeing everything playing out and they're bidding their time before cutting the modern day emperor Nero to size. One thing has become very clear, the drug baron will end badly. |
Odin13:You've said it all 100%. History has a way of repeating itself. Tifnubu thinks Nigeria is now under his control. They have been promoting all manner of disgusting tribalism. Even trying to institutionalize yoruba supremacy in Nigeria. One thing has become very clear, the drug baron will end badly. |
seeyounow:Lol, perennial landgrabbers. So, you now want to take Delta people oil? Since when did Ondo begin to produce oil? Was it not after boundary adjustment that ceded Delta lands to Ondo. So, that one is not enough for you? You want to grab more? Anyways, I trust those Delta youths. Go collect the oil if them born you well. |
Buhari is the worst thing that happened to Nigeria since 1970. No country deserve to have such a demented fool as president. Posterity will definitely dump him in the gutter. |
Iamgrey5:Most of you are poorly educated. Let me enlighten you, empty landmass means nothing. Niger state is same size as the entire SW. That's a fact. Ibadan is just a massive slum settlement with decrepit houses. No settlement should be like that in 2023. A single 5 storey building in Onitsha is more valuable than 50 rusted roof shanties in ibadan ![]() |
Blissful45: ![]() |
KwuoteYourFada:But her name is KUDIRAT AFOLABI? A typical Yoruba, no?? |
Flangelo12:Tribalism is the worst problem any country can battle with. You're willing to jeopardize Nigeria and Nigerians because of tribalism. Did you read the post at all? Don't you think there is more than enough grounds to disqualify Tinubu? |
MSGAMBLE9:Lol, how old are you? Igbos have been occupying Senate president and house speaker since. It's nothing new. Apart from oversight functions that enable them to embezzle money and bogus allowances, there is nothing much that comes from it. What fraction of Nigerians work in the ministries? Mind you, Igbos are also more or less represented. Imo State in the top three of states with highest number of federal workers. It's ignorance that is making you look down on "buying and selling". Before you guys wake up, Igbos would have gone very far!! In the city where I am, those shop owners you call petty, own blocks of multi storey buildings. They control capital running into hundreds of millions. Igbos are building vast number of duplexes all over Nigeria, even in their villages, while you guys are still living in decrepit houses. Yorubas will see work that pays 150k and think they've made it in life while the average Igbo man in his shop makes that in a couple of days. You live pay check to pay check while they're accumulating and compounding capital through investments in real estate. Go to any city near you and ask about Igbos there. Ignorance is not bliss. |
Lol, yet the cursed and demonic children of hate and wickedness still support these criminals in APC. They even want a notorious and globally known drug baron to take over and perpetuate the crimes forever May it never be well with those that supported these crimes!!! |
MSGAMBLE9:Lol, those selling gala according to you are probably earning more than you. They are only a small fraction. Or are you saying it's gala and pure water money they used in buying up Lagos ![]() If you're in Lagos you won't be asking such question. Many of your brothers have been pushed deep into Ogun state after selling their lands to Igbos ![]() Go to the ministry of lands in Abuja and check the names of those buying properties in Abuja. Even El Rufai cried over it when he was minister of FCT. |
ariesbull:Lol, they already have emir of Lagos and you're talking about settlement. There is hardly any state in the SW without large fulani settlements. But there is no problem with that, we are all Nigerians. |
Ukpaka:Na wa o. No be who first call police dey always win case o. The fulanis are in their own now, these people are coming to kidnap them. Wahala dey sleep nyanga dey wake am up. Who buy market go collect o. No come here dey cry when dey retaliate o. Yoruba run o. |
Christistruth03:Those Arochukwu sold as slaves were already condemned by the Igbo justice system. They committed crimes in the society but instead of being murdered like you guys always did, the Arochukwu sold them out. Meanwhile, equal number of Yoruba slaves were sold by the aworis and fons. Hausas were also sold in large numbers by the Sahel tribes long before the Europeans arrived. So, you're not making sense! |
Ireportlive:What has Obi got to do with this? It seems Obi has truly made you guys to run mad. SMH. |
alanto:Continue deceiving yourself, rigging an election in such brazen manner is enough for people to lose faith in Nigeria. You can't continue to impoverish millions of people and still expect them to remain docile. Those that want to remain as primitive neanderthals should allow those that want to develop to go. Nigeria is a crime state as it is, we either sanitize it or go our separate ways. Otherwise, we will remain in this sorry state forever. |
Christistruth03:Abobaku, go and read your history. It was Yorubas that almost finished themselves before the whites arrived. Igbos were living peacefully among themselves and their neighbors. |
With all that is happening, it has become apparently clear that Nigeria will divide. It's only a matter of time. USSR, Sudan, Malaysia, UK etc never had it this bad yet they all split. I doubt Nigeria will be any different. |
FreeStuffsNG:Fallacies of hasty generalization. The fact that lots of Igbos are all over the place is not necessarily because the SE is not economically viable but due to high literacy levels & indomitable spirit. Igbos are not coming to Lagos, Abuja or the rest of Nigeria to take up jobs no one is willing to do, rather they're always mostly found among the middle to upper class in any place they domicile. That's same way you don't see Chinese, Lebanese or Indians coming to Nigeria to do low level work. They come to Nigeria, fix themselves at the top or mid level and make good money. Does it now mean their own countries are not viable? If Igbos aren't doing well, they won't be buying up most places in Abuja, Lagos, P.H etc. |
kettykin:The good things counting for SE are: 1. Capital retention: Other regions of Nigeria experience high level of capital flight unlike SE where most companies are home-grown. 2. Rapid urbanization: the cities and towns in SE are growing rapidly due to rural-urban migration as well as relatively high population of educated people. 3. Commercial activities: due to large markets in the SE, the people are able to draw in cash from both within and outside Nigeria. Being able to accumulate cash makes it easier for them to engage in big projects. If only government can provide adequate infrastructure and security, the region will return to its 1960's level when it was among the world's fastest growing economies. |
The future is bright for Imo State, the gas capital of Nigeria! |
Neddyogu:I heard he was stoned to death in another news, even saw the dead body. All these conflicting reports... |
