I don't what Kunle was saying, but the guy that did the colour grading for The figurine was Soji Ogunnaike and he is a Nigerian (And a Nairalander sef ).....And it was brilliantly done! I personally love the 'look' of the figurine.
But In Phone Swap, it was Jason R. Moffat - A UK guy. What ever made him not to use Soji again, we do not know.....but we can atleast see Kunle is more concerned about the look of his film than any bragging rights.

Now to others, Tunde Kelani has always bragged of doing colour grading 'Abroad', but his films have the worst colouring I have ever seen! Daniel Tah that graded last flight to abuja is also UK based, yet it was bad. Fact it, if they are just giving the film to some 'run over the mill' guy just in the name of 'going abroad', they will meet the same kind of people they will meet in Naija. but if they 'look well' and choose rightly, the story will be different. At the same time, if they 'look well' and know how to choose in Naija, they will get good colourists.

Personally, the only post production facility that I think is not available in Nigeria is CGI and VFX. And I don't mean some random guys, I mean a VFX company that is made up a considerable number in a team to comeup with believable effects. So that's the only reason i think they should take their film outside the country. At the same time, I don't mean they should go and give it to some random UK guy that wants to use a feature film to experiment.....they should give it to the 'Weta works' of this world!
Even District 9 was given to image engine.....vfx is very important! and it needs a team in most cases and not one guy sweating over it.

EDIT: This however only applies to movies that are CGI and VFX intensivE. If it is just to add Gunshot fire in one scene, I can do that well . I will do it free, so they don't need to travel.

speedyboi: yeah I know....A flat image gives lots of details. It also translates to more time in post with dedication. Last Flight to Abuja has a fvcked up colour grading due to this, I doubt the colour grader knows what he was doing OR the image was just too flat for him to handle. I was only encouraging the poster - So that he/she won't hurt our eyes with the final product

VillageBoi: One of the reasons I'm no longer that much of a fan of his work is because I think he doesn't care about 'the look' or 'post' because considering having shot Last Flight on the Alexa and Onye Ozi (which happens to look even far uglier) on the RED, both those films should look amazing.

This is no longer short film territory; it's features and people PAY to watch them so they should stop messing around when the shoot on high end cams. I've seen graded DSLR stuff that looks a million times better than every one of his films combined!
